Book 3: Chapter 112

Book 3: Chapter 112

A/N: Merry Christmas!

Zayde

One look at his small form, or his burns, and they assumed he was a minotaur. Because after all… he is the only documented bastard of the House of Zeh…. Even we witches had no idea he was out here, or he’d have been hunted by dark witch, and aspiring witch universally….

And the priests would have hunted him to no end.

Because nobody knew he was from the House of Zeh, a diamond lay unfaceted…. And the Master did not interfere. Why, I would not know, but hopefully I could talk Ebonhorn into service.

Or Kaizen.

Realistically, all I care about, is that the brother of my demon isn’t a waiter if he doesn’t want to be…

“The Night Court did not know of you, but I ask you to remain open-minded, at least for a little while.” Said Lord Kaizen.

“When you initially told Lord Red to give you my number, he texted me the same thing.” He mumbled.

“Because he trains my mate. He’s her magic teacher.” Kaizen smiled. “Do you worry of mistreatment?”

“A little.” He snorted. “I may be the son of some ‘legendary’ demon prince but I am only a half human.”

“Aye, but one entitled to birthrights, his estate, as well as your pick of whatever weapon you want commissioned. If you joined the military, of course you’d go through basic training, but you’d also go to officer school, as well as have access to the royal demon archives.” Said Kaizen.

“Being a familiar also gives you access to the Eternal Library of Tarteron, within the Layer of Heresy. Familiars focus more on a little bit of magic and fighting. Your master would care for you, and provide you with food, energy, and knowledge. Both of you grow together. I even have someone in mind.”

“Who?” He asked, not being sold on either option, not fully. It helps that he is devoted to the Relam King though. That may make this a little easier.

“Micael Jekel. He too is the grandchild of a high bloodline, albeit he’s a quarter witch or so. The bond between you two would be as unbreakable as any forged, that I know. I can see the potential in that flesh. Also… we don’t go by military hours or rules. We’re kind of just a family, and by law, he’s pretty much my adopted son. I’m responsible for anything he does like a father responsible for his children. And I must say, I’m teaching him well.” I chuckled. “He can even shapeshift!”

“And I don’t go by military time either since I live on Urth, but if you accept, you’d be sent Below, but be allowed to come up here as you please, provided you don’t disrupt the balance.”

“How would I do that?” He asked.

“Doing things to purposefully piss off grandfather, or Arviel.” Said Kaizen. “Like burning down a church or something.”

“But having a ‘master’ sounds like a chain will be around my neck.” He mumbled. “And serving in the military sounds like I’ll get deployed somewhere. I don’t mind hunting wild game, but I don’t enjoy killing, or war.” Ebonhorn mumbled.

His personality is too mild for the military… Perhaps I could talk him into being a familiar?

“Currently there’s no war, so the only deployment is on corrupt worlds. I can tell you’re not strong enough for that… Most likely, depending on your aptitude, you’d be sent to a compatible Layer.” Said Kaizen.

“Oh my lord… I really don’t like the sound of that… I serve food, do manual labor, I know a little magic… I can light a candle… ” He said looking ashamed as if we’d judge that he was never taught.

If anything, that’s even better! He hasn’t been taught any awful habits or rely on magic stones.

“I won’t lie and say it’s all rainbows and sunshine, but those who are marked are treated as the master’s children.” I said honestly. It was then I saw his eyes glint. I think it was the way I said it.

“I am lonely… I have not trusted anyone since I was taken off the Ring…. Since the war, I have lived… completely alone.” He said honestly.

Damn… What a sad, isolated…confusing life…. I wish I knew of him sooner…. Heidi is going to be fucking devastated. This is the son of her first familiar. It will feel as if she abandoned her own child, even though he’s older than her by quite a bit, and there was never a chance for her to intervene.

“This I promise. Whichever you choose, even if it is to live among us, you will never be alone again.” I said firmly.

“Come with me to my pack, a neutral place instead of Phantom Coven.” Said Kaizen. “Come see for yourself.”

“And if I don’t like it I can leave?” He said worriedly.

“You have my blood word as the grandson of the Horned One. That your choice will be the life you live, and no other. That if you choose to join the fold, or retain your mark and live here, or do whatever, that I will personally deliver you and ensure your safety.” Said Kaizen.

I wonder why he didn’t offer him a job at MisfitMoon…. But I would not say anything. The young master has his plans, and I have mine… fuck I want him as a familiar for my apprentice.

\----Heidi----

The elders of the council…. With Samira came change… No longer were the days of court where only men ruled, and only men held thrones in here… Now I sat next to my mate, and my in-laws… Now Tyson ruled with his wife beside him, now that the worst wolves who wanted only patriarchy were dead… They wanted only purebloods, yet I am here… They wanted only men, yet now there are women of power sitting next to them, with a louder voice than ever.

But I would not lie and say that changed much…. She wolves are still smaller, and thus, they still can’t be Alphas, but being Luna means More… Because now if a Luna speaks, the entire council will hear, not just we females.

But honestly… at the moment no real laws were being made. Lustros was asleep in Tyson’s arms since he threw up. His tummy can’t handle much human food… and I let him get ahold of my mozzarella sticks that were deep fried… and slathered in sauce. But I remember taking care of Izzy, and she sat at Tyson’s left, ready with any remedies for him if need be.

Omegas cleaned the beheaded human, and Tyson already put away his sword…

Now it left the little familiar the human had… An Omega held the shaking thing, and I motioned for it to be handed to me. It’s little bug eyes were kind of cute… The short hair was likely why it shook, but also it was incredibly tiny. No bigger than Tyson when he was a pup. The little black female creature was one I’d never seen in person before, but on TV humans carry them around in purses.

“….What is it?” My king asked. “I’ve seen dogs. That’s not a fucking dog.”

“Maybe it’s a subspecies?” Said Samira. “No they call them breeds!”

“I think it’s called a Chiwoowoo?” Said Ron.

“Nah it’s definitely a Shihuahua.” Said John.

…. I Doogled it.

“Chihuahua.” I said petting it gently. “Her tag says Pumpkin.”

“I… I could keep it sire.” Said Jang. “I don’t know much about dogs, but it doesn’t seem like it’ll take up much space, or food.”

“You don’t have to convince me Jang. Pass it to him.” Said Tyson.

The puppy was passed to the reformed council member…. I can’t lie and say I’ll ever trust him, or forgive him… but he does a damn good job…. A common theme in our world. Working in high places here means one day you may work with someone you hate to maintain the peace. I willingly do that, because Tyson gave him his blood.

As a Thrall Jang cannot disobey his master, but Tyson treats him like any other wolf. That little dog loved Jang, and still shook, but I read on Doogle that they kind of just do that a lot.

Tyson’s phone went off but as his council, we were silent…. Something important happened pretty much right when we were about to take a small break.

“Heidi you will come with me.” Tyson said handing his son to Samira. “I’ll be right back. Kaizen’s asking a favor. Mind coming to his packhouse with me?”

“Alright.” Said Samira.

“May I ask what has caused your mood to change so your highness?” I asked formally. Tyson looked pretty serious. The triplet’s magic is stronger than mine, so I wondered exactly what it was Kaizen needed from me but I’d go see.

“The Night Court is not yet done with Rahrraam. The Ram of Whips holds a half demon son.” Said Tyson.
