The Witch and Her Alpha

"Why did you save my life?” I stood before Governor Rhys Amman, alpha of the Moon Valley pack and the most powerful man I've ever seen. "I just did it..." "Am I free now?" I asked the question that had been weighing on my mind all day, the Governor's face gave away nothing. "I cannot let you go Gemma Bracken. It’s not safe." "Saving me, while noble, doesn't absolve you of your other charges." I fumed. I knew it! He wasn't going to release me because I was a witch. An idea popped in my head. “May I present an idea for you Governor?" "What's your grand idea?" He answered sarcastically. "I'm very skilled, you can’t throw me back into prison." The Governor's confusion was evident, "Do you want to work for me?" "I want to work for you. In exchange for my freedom." There was long silence and I silently prayed to every goddess that cared to listen that the Governor would consider my offer. After what seemed to be eternity, he finally spoke. "Okay Gemma Bracken." "If you serve me faithfully for a year, as part of my personal security team, I will give you your freedom." "Deal?" He asked and I nodded. "Deal." ....... One day, Gemma Bracken, saves the Alpha and Governor Rhys Amman from an assassination. In exchange for her freedom, she is to serve him, her worst enemy. Under the service of the young ruler, Gemma's freedom is at stake but finds herself falling for him harder than she had ever imagined, especially when she hides a deadly secret that affects them both. Their love is surrounded by so many opposition and Gemma and Alpha Rhys realize that fighting for their love is a lot harder than it seemed.
