Chapter 50: No more bedrest

( Allie's POV )

Now, how am I supposed to tell him that I wanted to keep the baby from him? I thought that he might take it away from me once he found out that I was pregnant. That he would want Nickie to raise it as her own. All I can do is be honest with him.

" Jack, I am going to be honest. I only found out that I was pregnant when I ended up in the hospital. I did not know I was pregnant before then. After I found out that I was pregnant, I considered never returning home. I was afraid that you might take the baby from me after it was born and never let me see him or her again. " By the expression on his face, I could tell that he was shocked.

" Why would you ever think that I would take away our baby from you? I would never be able to do that. Your pain would be mine. "

" I thought that you might have chosen Nickie to be your Luna instead, or that she might have been your actual Mate. "

" Oooh Sweet Allie. Did you forget? My Mark is on your neck. You are my true Mate. There would never be anyone but you and I told you that before and I will keep telling you for as long as it takes to make you believe that our bond is true. " He cups my face in his hands. It was so warm and comforting, but I could see the hurt in his eyes. I caused him pain and it feels like a knife to my heart. Thinking of all the time we have been apart now and all the heartache was for nothing. If there was a way to turn back the time, I would. But it is done and all we can do now is just look forward. For once in a long time, it feels like everything is going to work out.

Allie and Jack worked out their differences and were happy as ever. Allie still had to stay in bed for a couple of weeks. Jack helped her to get bathed and dressed. He was so caring, taking care of all her needs. The doctor came to do his inspections regularly every week and by the fifth week, he declared that it was safe for her to start walking normally and especially fly back home. Jack insisted on staying a few more days now that Allie is a bit better. They enjoyed their last couple of days, swimming and relaxing in the sun, but mostly spending time together and catching up on lost time.

( Jack's POV )

My wolf is happy and my heart is filled with joy. We have our Mate back and the doctor gave us the all-clear. She can walk and start enjoying her life again. I've longed for her so much. " We have longed for her. " My wolf corrects me. If I could, I would stay here forever. Keeping Allie away from harm and protecting her like a little fragile doll. My little fragile doll! If we go back home, we have to go back to reality. She will want to go back to her store and I would have to return to Pack business. Alphas aren't supposed to be away from the packs this long, but I had to make an exception. Allie needed me more. Besides, Matt is fully capable of watching over things and my father is close by to give a lending hand. I won't be able to keep an eye on Allie at all times once we return home. But I've arranged with Matt to put full-time security at the lake house and her store. With Nickie still missing, I won't take any chances with Allie and our unborn baby's life. I must say. In the last couple of weeks, Allie has really started showing. You can now see a slight little bump. It is the most adorable thing ever. She never looked more beautiful. My wolf has more lust and desire for her than ever. Just knowing that she is carrying our baby inside her, makes me whole. I thought that I felt whole the day I saw Allie by the side of the road and discovered that she was my Mate. But now that she is pregnant, I feel that my life is fulfilled.

" Hunny, would you mind getting me some fruit juice please " Her soft angel-like voice pulls me away from my thoughts and brings me back to the present.

" But of course. anything for the princess. " I jump up happily, heading in the direction of the chalet.

" And something to eat. I am starving " She shouts over her shoulder while sunbaking on the beach. The sun really did her good. She started to get her glow back. She didn't look as pale as the day I found her on the street, about to pass out. She also got her appetite back and I won't say she is eating for two. It's more like she is eating for an entire litter. But it's good. She started to look like her old happy curvy self again.

I got Allie her juice and I made her a fruit platter with some cheese and cold meats. She devoured the entire platter and then She went to lay down a bit. She gets tired quickly lately, but it is all part of being pregnant. I let her be so that she could take her afternoon nap. I would love to join her, but I have to let my wolf out. He needs to stretch his legs and catch a rabbit or two. I make sure that Allie is comfortable and all snuggled up. I stroke the tip of her nose until she falls asleep. It is then that I sneak out, strip down and shift into my wolf form. It feels good to be in my wolf form. I haven't shifted in weeks. My wolf was starting to get agitated. He needed to get out and feel the wind in his fur, So I let him take over completely and I'm just along for the ride. My wolf dug his paws into the sand and sprinted off super fast. We ran all along the cost line, but not too far. Only far enough to hear if Allie is in trouble. We notice a sound coming from the forest. My wolf lifted his nose and smelled the air. " Rabbit!! " He howled. He sprints off into the forest. He smells meat. He follows the scent through the thick bushes until we are in an open grass field. He lowers the front part of his body to the ground, and just when the rabbit comes into view, he takes off at lightning speed and grabs ahold of the rabbit's neck. with one swift motion, the rabbit was dead and all gobbled up. The poor rabbit did not stand a chance against a werewolf. We are faster than the average wolves.

After I let my wolf have his fun, we head back home. Upon arriving, I could hear Allie was awake. She was in the shower. I shift back into my human form and don't bother putting clothes on. I sneak quietly into the bathroom and just admire her from the entrance of the door. This reminds me of the first time we were here when we made love for the first time. I will never forget it. Here she is, Standing naked in the shower, awakening every desire in my body. The little bump standing out makes her even more attractive to me.

" Oh, You startled me. I didn't notice you there " Allie says shiley. innocently trying to cover her belly. Almost like she is in of me seeing her with a little belly. " I went for a run. My wolf needed to stretch his legs a bit.

" I walk closer to the shower and she backs up a bit, for me to get in with her. " You don't have to hide your perfectly cute bump from me. " I assure her and remove her hand from her perfectly sculpted belly and go down on one knee, put both hands on her hips and pull her closer. I stroke her belly and place a kiss on it.

" Hey, little one. You don't know me yet, but I'm your dad. " Allie giggles and places her hand in my hair.

" I just want to let you know that I will always protect you and your mommy, and also, watch your head in there. Daddy is going to show Mommy how much I've missed her the last couple of months." I get up from the ground, cup Allie's face in my hands and look deep into those beautiful brown eyes of hers. She is happy, I can feel it.
