Chapter 33
Belle POV:
"WHY?" I scream at the Weeping Wolf.
My mother is banging on the door. I can hear Luna Alanis screaming. They can hear the Weeping Wolf threatening Aria.
"What do you want from me?" I ask her. The Weeping Wolf moves closer to me.
"You will take this pack, and you will have children. You will raise elite children. You will do as you were born and raised to reign over all wolves, or I will kill everyone you love," the Weeping Wolf says. She is going insane.
Her long white hair stands on end in all directions. A bright light is coming from her, and the entire room glows as she starts moving toward Aria. She will kill him.
I cover Aria with my body. I want to protect him. The door begins to buckle from the weight of the powers in the room and our parents trying to get into the room to help us.
"I can kill you all. Rainwater may not have been able to kill you, but I can," the Weeping Wolf calls out to me.
The door opens, and my mother pulls her energy and begins trying to take the Weeping Wolf down. Luna Alanis is helping her. I should help, but I am afraid the Weeping Wolf will kill Aria if I move.
Another bright light comes at us and seems to be coming from all directions. The Weeping Wolf stops, my mother and Luna Alanis stop; I look to see what it is and who is helping us.
"Back away from my family, wolf," a bright light calls out to the Weeping Wolf.
It takes a moment, but the woman's silhouette is finally unmistakable. "Rainwater!" my mother calls out.
It is my grandmother, and she is here to help. I have no idea why. She has been nothing but a menace my entire life. Rainwater pulls energy from all of us. I can feel the power leave my body as Rainwater snatches it from my body. She pulls it from my mother, Luna Alanis, and Aria. She pulls all of the energy inside her and then pushes it out with one mighty blow. The power strikes the Weeping Wolf and takes her down.
Aria opens his eyes as the Weeping Wolf falls. "What happened?" Aria asks.
I lay across him and hold him. He puts his arm across my back. Luna Alanis and Alpha Sebastian rush to us. "Everything is okay," I say.
Rainwater stands in front of my mother. It looks as if she is trying to apologize to her. She reaches for my mother and then vanishes. Maybe Rainwater finally learned from all of her mistakes and the damage she caused all of us over the years. Especially my mother. No one was hurt as much as my mother from all of the mistakes Rainwater made.
My mother falls into my father. The two leave the room. My mother is physically and mentally upset. No one can help her through this like my father. Maybe it is finally over for her, and she can just be happy.
"Aria, I love you," I say to him.
He rubs my back as I lay next to him. Alpha Sebastian pulls Luna Alanis out of the room so we can be alone. I know she is concerned for him, but we need to talk about everything that has happened.
"Are you sure you want to marry me?" I ask Aria.
"I would marry you today if you were ready, but I know you are not," Aria says.
"We are so young, Aria," I say. I prop my chin on his chest and look at him.
"I know, but I want to start my life with you now. Is that so wrong?" Aria asks.
"No, I guess not," I say.
Aria and I rush to tell our parents our plans. I will be his wife, his Luna, and he will be my husband, my Alpha. I hold his hand and allow him to honor to tell both of our parents what we have decided. At that moment, I let him take the lead and be the Alpha, my protector as he promised he would be for me.
Katherine and Paisley come into the front door to check on us as we share the happy news with our parents. I hope she shares her news with everyone. My mother looks down to see Katherine holding Paisley's hand. I smile at my mother. My father looks at the couple, and he is pleased. It is a good moment for all of us. No one needs to really say anything. We are all happy.
"There is one thing I want to share with both of our parents and my siblings. I do not want to take over this pack. I want to marry Aria and be his Luna. I think one of my siblings would be better suited than me. I think that is what is best for my life with Aria," I say.
My mother tried to be an Alpha while my father was Alpha, and it did not work out well. I do not want to make that mistake. I want Aria and me to have a normal life.
"I respect that, Belle," My father says.
My siblings rush to me and hug me. They are all excited for Aria and me.
"Now what?" Katherine asks me.
"We plan a wedding," I say. Aria holds my hand tightly. I look back at him as he talks with my brothers. Could life be better?
