Detective Dave noticed the look of anxiety on my face and she clapped her hands together to get my attention.
"We'll make sure to do that sir, My team have gone to Mr Seo's hideout and we'll get back to you on it." She said, extending her hands for a handshake again.
This time I shook it and turned to leave immediately after.
I had matters to attend to.
"Sir." Jade, who had been standing outside the door, called me.
"Yes?" I answered.
"Miss Patricia called, she said Mr Flynn is in Florida." He said looking confused. But I understood the messages after all, I was the one who asked her to look into Mr Flynn.
Mr Flynn is the owner of F-motors which is my next bet after MI mobility. With what's going on now, we can't continue the collaboration with MI mobility again which leaves me with F- motors as my next option which is why I asked Patricia to look into it.
"How long did she say he'll be there for?" I asked.
"She said he's booked a flight for tomorrow which means he'll be there for the night." Jade explained.
"Do you have a passport?" I asked.
"Sorry?" He mumbled.
"Do you have a passport?" I repeated again with gritted teeth.
"Yes, I do, it's even with me now." He said scared of my outburst.
"Good."
"Let's go." I said walking away with him trailing behind me.
We got to the car and he entered the driver seat while I got in the backseat.
"Where to sir?" He asked as he ignited the engine.
"To the airport jade."
"We've got a plane to catch." I said, smirking as he drove to the airport.
I dialled Patricia's number and she picked up immediately.
"Book Jade and I a flight to Florida, it should be done in the next ten minutes." I said and hung up not waiting for a reply.
After that, I dialled eve's number but it wasn't going through and so I called Grandma Nini.
"Hello." Her chirpy voice sounded on the phone.
"Grandma, I have a flight to catch, is Eve home?" I asked.
"No, she's not." Grandma Nini answered, making me sigh in relief.
"Good, any courier that delivers a document, don't open it and make sure Eve doesn't see it." I said.
"Okay." She said and hung up before I could say anything else.
I groaned in frustration. Why didn't she let me finish my statement?
The flight to Florida is three hours at most which means that I'll have time to get back and destroy that document.
I've accepted my fate.
What's between me and Eve is just starting. I don't want it to end yet.
I just need to cut a few people off and right some wrongs.
Do I love my wife?
I think I might like my wife.
Love is a strong word for now but I do feel something for her. That's for sure.
We soon arrived at the airport and we parked the car before walking out and going to the board.
We boarded the plane and we both sat in first class. I pushed my chair to go back so I can rest for the next three hours but I guess that would be impossible with talkative jade sitting beside me.
"Sir, I've never been in first class before."
"Oh my goodness, I never knew the chair could do this."
"This is amazing."
"Look at the clouds."
"Wow. Just wow." He kept blabbing on and on, making me groan.
"Jade!" I called sternly.
"Sir?" He answered.
"Shutup!" I snapped at him.
"I want to catch some sleep, ask them not to disturb me." I warned him.
"We're here on a mission not to have fun, it's not a vacation." I reminded him to which he gulped and nodded.
"Men on a mission!, I like it." I heard him giggle before I drifted to sleep.
He's really an unusual person.
I thought as I fell asleep.
I don't know how long I slept but judging from the fact that we were still on the plane when I woke up means that it wasn't for long.
"You're awake." I heard Jade say with a mouthful of food.
I looked at him and shook my head as I sat properly.
"You've got to try all these foods." He said as he forced everything into his small mouth.
"This is key lime pie." He said pointing at each and everyone of them.
"This is conch fritters."
"This is fried green tomatoes."
"They also served citrus fruits earlier."
"This is a fried alligator." He said, making me look at him and the food.
"Eat to your fill jade." I said quietly knowing that I couldn't stop him from explaining.
"Okay sir." He said as he stuffed himself with more food.
"Hello, This is your captain Maverick. Sit tight and use your seat belts, we'll be landing soon, welcome to Florida." I heard the Captain's voice through the speakers.
We soon landed and after going through the board pass. We were outside the airport waiting for our guide that Patricia arranged.
Soon, a small SUV stopped in front of us making Jade squeal like a twelve year old.
Is he a child?
We got into the car after exchanging pleasantries with a guarde whose name is Gimbsy.
Quite unusual.
However, he got along with jade perfectly well.
I kept quiet throughout the whole ride to the hotel where Mr Flynn was staying.
Patricia said we could try to meet him coincidentally since we didn't schedule a meeting beforehand.
We soon arrived at the hotel and we alighted.
As we walked into the magnificent hotel, I couldn't help but think about Eve that I left at home.
I just hope that she didn't receive the document yet because that would just destroy things.
Not like it wasn't already spoiled but it would only make it worse.
But as we all know, most things don't always go in one's favour.
