Chapter 16: Unwanted.
~Melissa’s POV~
Today, I made the hardest decision in my life to come with my mate. I was nervous as hell, frightened as well, but Aiden gave me some courage with his words, and seeing him next to me was enough to calm me as well.
Telling Tracy goodbye was the hardest. She could tell I was lying in some way, but she never pointed it out. She dressed me in my best outfit and made sure I was extremely pretty for my journey. Even though things go south, I'd promised my mother to return back to our world. I could only hope she would be fine without me.
Aiden told me about the Shadow claw pack, and I was even more eager to meet the people of that world. Eager to see their transformation, the way they fight, and how they relate with each other. However, I was quite worried about them accepting me.
While Aiden has an identity there, I have none. For all I care, they could refer to me as a weak human, but I wished they wouldn't stop Aiden from making me his Luna. Everyone's eyes were on me, glued on my skin as I made my way in.
Hell, I was nervous. It felt like their gaze was piercing through my skin, opening me up and leaving me bare before them. From what I assumed to be the entrance, Aiden led me towards another room where a few men were seated, a questioning gaze plastered on their faces.
A stern man sat above them all, but as soon as he parted his lips to speak, my heart wavered as tears clouded my vision. It was just my first day here, but he was indirectly showing his disinterest towards me. Aiden fought back with his words, proclaiming me as his mate, but a ridiculous laughter rang in my ears as the Alpha slammed his fists on a table.
“You and I know you can't mate with her, Aiden.” His loud voice pierced my ears, clenching my heart and making my whole body waver. I tightened my grip on Aiden and averted my gaze. Even in the midst of my own people, I wasn't welcome.
“Stay here for a while. Ignore the words of that cruel Alpha.”
To be honest, I've been starting to grow accustomed to the strange voice in my head. I pressed my lips in a thin line and closed my eyes, hoping to communicate with it, “But the Alpha is Aiden's father.”
“He's a cruel Alpha. He doesn't want a true mate for Aiden. He wants Aiden to experience some pain from rejecting his own mate. He is Aiden's step father.”
While the voice revealed a lot of things to me, my eyes darted around, checking if anyone else could hear it, but it seemed like they couldn't. It seemed like I was the only one blessed with a strange voice in my mind.
Aiden let out a chuckle, “You've asked me to settle down with a bride, I've brought my mate, but you're suddenly pushing her aside? This woman is a part of me!” He growled, his authoritative voice like a weight pressed down my shoulders. His words warmed up my heart, but with the way his father was acting up, I was sure he wouldn't give his approval.
Rather than standing here to be further humiliated, I leaned towards Aiden and whispered into his ears, “I need to rest, I'll be outside.” Hearing my words, Aiden shook his head slightly as his gaze softened. I could tell he felt guilty with that gaze in his eyes, so I gave him a small smile, telling him I was okay.
“Aiden, you would mark Lady Sapphire instead. She's the daughter of one of the greatest men. Marrying her would strengthen the pack.” His step father explained, his eyes glaring daggers at me. Averting my gaze, I fixed them on the elders sitting around a table. They nodded their heads slowly, “You're right, Alpha. Aiden has to reject her.”
“Then must my happiness be sacrificed for the good of the pack?” Aiden asked, his voice becoming softer, “I don't care about what y’all say, but Melissa here is going to be my bride!” He snapped before dragging me out of the hall. His heavy steps echoed in my ears as we walked through the hallway, his grip on my hands tight.
As we made our way, a few maids bowed their heads before glaring at me. I clenched my hands into fists, “Aiden, they don't like me.” I smiled, referring to the ladies that just left. I lowered my gaze and smiled sadly, “Your father as well. I don't think I'm welcome here.”
Aiden opened up a room and led me inside, “Are you going to give up now? You're here because of me, remember?”
“And also to find out who I truly am.” I replied.
He let out a chuckle as he pinned me against the wall, “Then you must be a good girl and ignore whatever they say. I'll be here for you every step of the way.” Aiden's words comforted me in some way, but I could tell there was much more awaiting me besides Insultive words and glares. They would go to extreme measures, and that frightened me more than anything.
Aiden's hands roamed around my body, “How do you manage to look good every Time?” he asked, breathing upon my neck. I bit my lips, holding in my moan, but as soon as he caressed my thighs, a soft sigh escaped my lips. My hands were pinned above my head as he stared at me lustfully, “I want to claim you over and over again, mine.” his iris changed red and I swallowed hard, a little frightened.
He carried me in a princess style and placed me on the bed, “Tell me how much you want me, Lisa. Tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way.” he said, hovering above me. I bit my lips and slowly wrapped my arms around his neck, “You're not the only one who feels this way.”
It seemed like those were the words he's been waiting to hear. He pushed me down and claimed my lips, sucking harder as his hands ripped off my dress. I gasped, feeling lightheaded, “Aiden.” but he swallowed up the rest of my words, his hands trailing down my wet core.
