Chapter 36: Victor's Crew Attacks

Mary's voice sounded like she was banging on the door to the room in a hurry. I don't know what's happening out there; everything is shocking me. Even Damian's sudden presence surprised me quite a bit.

"We don't have time to talk now, Damian. But I do need you." I rushed to get a copy of my father's men's data and gave it to Damian.

"I can't reach them; I hope you can find them at their homes. Tell them you were asked by Mr. Egan's daughter to reorganize the organization," I said to Damian.

"How long do you need me to gather them?" Damian asked.

"As soon as possible, Damian. I'm counting on you." Damian nodded, but before he left, he gave me something that looked like earphones.

"Then we need to communicate," Damian said. He also went back down through the window that had brought him in earlier.

After making sure Damian had left, I rushed to tidy everything up, as if no one was coming from any direction, and then hurried to open the door that Mary was still knocking on.

When I opened the door, I saw Mary's terrified face, which was etched with sweat. "What's wrong, Mary?" I asked, not knowing anything.

"Didn't you hear the commotion outside?" Mary asked. As Mary said this, I saw Anne behind her with twelve maids heading toward my room.

"Mr. Victor brought his men here and caused a disturbance. And I was asked to save you," said Mary, with a panic that still hadn't subsided.

"Madam, wear this and come with us." That was Anne's voice. Anne gave me a black cloak and helped me put it on.

"Why did you bring twelve maids? Our departure will be noticed by many people if they come to escort Madam Daniella to a safe place," Mary protested.

"I was also asked by Mr. Dylan." And in Mary's debate with Anne, suddenly the sound of a gunshot rang out, causing me to reflexively cover both ears.

"Are you alright, madam?" Anne asked worriedly, and I immediately shook my head.

"Anne, please explain to the twelve maids. I'm sure I'll find a safe place with Mary and you too. Mary is good at self-defense, so she'll definitely protect me." I asked Anne to persuade the twelve maids to leave. Anne had no choice but to fulfill my wish. Anne then walked toward the twelve maids like a leader and tried to disperse them.

"Madam, take this for safety." Mary gave me a gun.

"Please be careful because this gun is loaded. Only take it out if it's urgent." Mary warned me, and I accepted the gun with a trembling hand.

Anne managed to convince all twelve maids and returned to us. "Come on, ma'am, I'll help Mary take you to a safe place." I nodded my head, and Mary led me to the place she meant. As we walked, I could hear the sounds of fighting and explosions multiple times down there.

"YOU TRAITOR, DYLAN!" A loud and firm voice rang out as we passed. I'm sure that was Mr. Victor's voice, and I'm very curious about what Mr. Victor is like.

I held Mary's hand, asking her to follow me to the side of the iron staircase, where if we were there, we could see what was happening below.

I crouched down to peek at the situation below, as did Mary and Anne. "Madam, we must hurry," Mary warned me, but I was curious if I didn't peek.

"Just a moment, Mary, I have to see people thinking my father is their eternal enemy," I said to Mary.

From here I could see Victor's men and Dylan's men fighting, and many were already lying on the floor in a gruesome state. And I can't believe I would see an event like this in my life, especially while pregnant.

I hope my baby doesn't feel scared and will get used to this harsh environment. I will only continue to pray for the well-being of my baby's condition if I keep seeing events like this throughout my pregnancy.

"Sir, look! That's the traitor Dylan's wife!" Someone suddenly pointed at us and shouted. At that moment, the old man with a large build like a father looked toward us. I thought we were hidden enough, but this iron wasn't enough to hide the three of us.

"Catch her!" Victor's loud voice commanded. As his men came up to chase us, I felt Mary's hand pull mine hard enough to almost make me fall.

"I told you to hurry." Panting, Mary reminded me of my foolishness in wanting to peek during the recent journey. The situation is quite critical, and I can't even respond to Mary's words a little bit.

"Anne, you have to lead from the front. Take Madam Daniella to the hidden staircase, and we must hide in the underground room I'll keep an eye on and hold back Victor's men from behind," Mary said, to which Anne nodded. Anne led the way, holding my hand, while Mary moved to the back.

When I looked back, I didn't expect Victor's men to already be so close behind us. Luckily, Mary quickly realized this and asked to switch positions with Anne. I saw Mary fighting them too, and one of her shots managed to hit Victor's men. Then I don't know what else happened to them because I had to watch my own steps as Anne led me down the secret staircase.

The secret staircase they were talking about was quite steep and dark; I even almost tripped because I was in such a hurry, but luckily Anne was always quick to help me. As we climbed the stairs, I was sure we were on the first floor, and Anne led me back down the dark hallway.

The corridor led us to a room lit only by torches. Then Anne took a key from the wall, slid a carpet aside, and opened a door leading to the underground room

To get to the basement, I had to go down a darker staircase. I wasn't even sure about going down, but Anne gave me a torch, one for me and one for her.

Anne also asked me to watch my step. And I never expected the stairs leading to the underground room to be so long and tiring. However, I was amazed when we reached the underground room they were talking about. Is this really an underground room? Even though the stairs are very dark and eerie, how can the underground room be like this? I can't help but be amazed seeing all this.

"Is this the underground room you meant, Anne?" I asked Anne as I explored the underground room.

"Yes, ma'am. We will wait here until things are calm enough," Anne said.

"How can an underground room be made like this?"
