Chapter 114: Chapter 114
Agatha's POV
I didn't fail to see the defeated look that pictured on Aaron's face when I walked into the auctioning hall uninvited.
Yeah, I wasn't invited, but I got to know at the last minute. Bea eventually succumbed to my demand and told me everything I needed to know. I was doing all these without Eric's approval.
I needed to save his company from falling into the hands of Aaron, and I knew how defeated and shock he would be by my sudden presence.
It took a great effort before the crowd got back themselves and resumed clapping as I placed my bidding. Jackpot. I had gotten back what belong to the Sloans', and no one would ever try to take it.
As I turned to walk away from the crowd, Aaron suddenly stood up and stormed out of the hall.
“Mr Walker!”
“Mr Walker!”
“Why did he leave??”
“Is there something wrong?”
I heard murmurs from the crowd of people as I rushed after Aaron. What was he up to this time?
The sounds of my stiletto clicked as I raced faster towards the direction he went, but then I missed him and found myself in the restroom.
‘How did I even end up here?’ I thought as I turned to leave when a hand suddenly shoved me to the wall, causing me to gasp for air through my mouth.
I gritted my teeth when Aaron's face became visible, his eyes gazing at mine as he seethed. Not only that, but I could sense the anger that exposed him, and I wouldn't deny the truth about how happy I became.
“How the fuck did you know about this?” He thundered.
For a moment, I stopped struggling to free from his grip, and I rolled my eyes. It wasn't clear to me why he doesn't scare like the old times. Perhaps because I was ready for anything.
“Surprised to see me?” I smirked, he shoved me harder to the wall. “Fuck,” I cursed out at the pain that followed suit. I thought I was going to lose my spine.
“I'm not surprised by anything, Agatha! Why the fuck are you trying to ruin me? I can kill you with the snap of my fingers right now, and no one would ever trace your death to me!”
“I-I...” I gasped again. “I'm not scared of you.”
His lips curled into a sinister grin. “You aren't scared of me, huh? Let's see how far you can lie then.” He said, then he pressed harder again, pinning me at chokehold.
Fuck!
I cried out, and made to lift my heels to his middle, but he was smart enough to hold me halfway, and pressed the heels to my toes so much that it'd hurt.
“Let me go, bastard!” I spat at his eyes. Forcefully, he let go and moved backwards to clean his eyes.
I stood properly on my heels, glaring daggers at him with heavy ragged breaths.
“You are never going to kill me, Aaron Walker. Not today, not ever.” I said, and he laughed like a lunatic.
“You are such a bitch. Getting Laura from me wasn't enough, you are trying to ruin me too!” He snapped, his last words accompanied with pain etched on his face.
My stomach knotted with excitement. That was what I wanted... To ruin Aaron Walker and crumble him.
“This is the beginning of your ruination, Aaron. Believe me, soon enough, you will be in jail forever until your existence is wiped off this Earth.” I replied bluntly. He stopped laughing, his brows knitting with confusion. Hell yeah—I knew I had pinned him right there.
“What the fuck do you mean?!”
I smiled. “It's too quick to know.” I winked at him. “Don't worry, it'd be a surprise soon. Expect your presents.” I blew him a quick kiss before walking away with a victorious smile, lifting my chin.
When I got out of the damn building, my eyes precipitously caught Sasha running down the alley. She kept glancing back to see if anyone was after her, and I couldn't suppress my laughter.
She hadn't gotten close to her car enough when I decided to trail behind her.
“Bitch!” I called, she halted abruptly. I guessed she recognized my voice.
“What do you want?” She spat with a frown.
“You in jail... Forever.” I replied with a smirk.
“Let me be.” She scoffed.
“Oops! I'm sorry but I'm not stalking you. I'm just giving you a little reminder that you have nowhere else to go because all your secrets will be out sooner.”
“What are you insinuating?” She retorted.
“A surprise. Be expecting your presents.” I flaunted my hair at her with a challenging smile on my face as I turned and walked out on her.
Glancing above my shoulders as I walked, I saw her picking up pace to run.
I tsk, shaking my head pitifully. “It's too late to run, puppies. Say goodbye to your-” My phone suddenly rang, cutting me off.
“Hello, Chief Officer?” I called when I recognized the Caller ID—It was the chief officer calling.
“Yeah, everything has been solved, Ms Agatha. Mr Eric has been released from prison through the help of his wife.” He announced.
My eyes widened, excitement wracking down my spine. “And?”
“The discriminative evidence pinned on Aaron Walker is pending. We will do our possible best to look into it.”
“Don't look into it! Get them before they exit the country, officer!” I snapped as I hopped into my car, revving the engine.
“Yes, thank you.” With that said, I hung up and screeched out of the place.
It's been two weeks since Eric got released out of prison, and everything resumed smoothly again. Bea got fired at the company after I disclosed everything she had done in his absence. And though, he was still keeping his distance from me (mad at me) for risking my life in several ways.
Larry has returned from school to mourn with Laura for the death of their Mom, and they had given her a proper burial. I wouldn't also miss the part where her bump was starting to grow. Jeez, I was going to be an aunty soon and I couldn't wait any longer.
“Was the scan successful?” I asked as Laura came out of the scan room. She sighed and nodded.
“Yeah, the scan said I'm going to be having a boy.” She muttered. I squealed excitedly. “Eric's Jr?! OMG!”
She rolled her eyes. “Whatever. I don't feel that way though.” She replied as we strolled down the hallway towards the exit of the hospital.
I scarred my brows. “Why?”
She sighed, yet again, slowly rubbing her protruding bump. “I just feel too heavy. It feels like I'm growing more than one, Agatha.” She groaned.
Dammit! Her mood swings right there.
I hated it whenever she groans and said this. Like I had thought, she stopped at a point and sat on a chair in the awaiting center.
I groaned. “No, please tell me you aren't going to sit on that chair for close to fifteen minutes?” I asked, she grinned.
“I'm tired, and you can't carry me so let's rest a little.”
“Seriously, your hormones are really something else. I shouldn't have come with you at the first place.” I growled lowly, joining her on the chair.
“You are hurting my heart,” She pouted. I scoffed with an eye roll.
“Now I see why Eric didn't follow you up today instead, it was me. Gosh, let's go already, Laura. I hate the smell of hospital.” I complained and she chuckled. “Not funny,” I added with a grumble.
I checked my wristwatch. “I still need to save time for my date.” I announced to her.
Laura shot me a glare then shrugged. “That Roland of a guy?” She seethed, and I watched as her fist clenched.
I almost laughed out, it was impossible to look away from her at that moment. “Don't tell me that's jealousy I sense.” I taunted,
“Jealous of what? Hell no, I'm not! I can't be jealous when I have the best in the world.”
Gosh, I groaned and threw my head backward. “Don't remind me.”
She giggled inwardly, and made to stand back up on her feet when my eyes caught an eccentric mark on her wrist. I stopped her. “What's that?” I nodded at her wrist.
“It's nothing.” She managed a smile at me.
“You can't tell me it's nothing when it's obviously something. Did they do that to you while you were being held hostage?” I asked as we eventually exit the hospital.
Her countenance changed, and she sighed. “Sasha once tried to torture me.”
My jaw hardened at the thought of that bitch. After the discriminative evidence used against Aaron, and also using Laura as a proof that he kidnapped her, he has been in prison and was yet to be prosecuted in court— And as for Sasha, the bitch decided to remain hidden but... Not for too long.
They were all going to get what they deserve, and none of them was going to be kept under the shades of the sun.
