Chapter 81 When enemies meet
THIRD PERSON’S POV
Near the hidden caves on the west side of the Amoled city, visited by almost no one because it lay in no man's land with inhospitable conditions, a man rushed to his boss, who was sitting inside the car at some distance on the road, not wanting to get out until he had proof that they had come to the right place.
“Boss,” the subordinate called out.
The man sitting in the car lifted his blue eyes and looked straight at the subordinate standing beside his window.
“The information is correct. There are indeed people camping here. And their lifestyle… You should see. I think werewolves do exist,” the subordinate said.
The boss lit up his cigar thoughtfully before looking at his secretary in the passenger seat of the car.
“What do you think?” He asked.
The secretary half turned his body before looking at the time.
“Meeting these creatures now can be risky, but they might not meet us during the daytime,” the secretary said.
The boss leaned in his seat, his mind considering the pros and cons of going to them.
From all the information his people gathered on those two men that his Angel had fallen in love with and was living with, they got a hint from a traitor in their rogue group that they were werewolves.
It was hard for him to digest. They lived in a modern world with such high technology. How come they were living with such creatures, and no one knew about them? And they pretend to be one of the humans? How pathetic.
Jarvin licked his bottom lip, his gaze dark as he thought about those two men who had probably used some kind of voodoo or werewolf techniques to seduce his Angel.
There was no way he was going to let those dogs have his princess, who only belonged to him.
“What were these werewolves afraid of the most?” Jarvin asked his secretary.
“Silver,” his secretary said, and Jarvin smirked before he grabbed his cane, made from pure silver, and stepped out of the car.
“Let's see if we can strike a deal here,” Jarvin said as he evened his coat.
They walked inside the jungle for quite some time until they reached the backside of the hidden caves.
Just like his subordinate had told him, there were indeed some signs of civilization here.
As he walked, out of the corner of his eye, he saw some shuffling in the bush and stopped.
For a human, his senses were no less, and he immediately knew danger was lurking in the shadows for them.
He stopped his team from taking another step.
He saw some glowing eyes behind the bushes, probably wolves, already sizing him up to see if they should leave or attack him.
“We are here to meet your leader, one who can help us eliminate the wolves of the Amoled City.” Jarvin went straight to the point to let the rogues know he knew about the werewolf species.
There was no movement for some time. Jarvin waited patiently.
And just like he had guessed, a muscular man dressed just in pants, his chest sweating profusely and with dirty brown hair, walked forward.
His hand moved through his hair as he tilted his head to look at Jarvin.
“Who are you? And why are you here?” The muscular man asked.
“Jarvin Morocco. They call me the boss of the underworld. I want to get my girl back. Her name is Angelica Royal. And she is in possession of two wolves in Amoled City that are your rivals. I suggest partnership…” Jarvin couldn't finish when he heard a growl from behind him.
Before anyone could react, Jarvin pulled out his dagger from the cane and plunged it straight into the wolf’s abdomen as it sprang towards him.
Everyone gasped, and Jarvin’s team immediately drew their weapons.
“Owww!” The wolf's painful howl echoed in the jungle, and Jarvin looked at the muscular man.
“Sean, what was this?” The muscular man asked.
And to their surprise, the werewolf he wounded turned into a human.
Since the dagger wasn't made from silver, his wounds started to heal right before him while they watched the weird healing alchemy of species.
“He is affiliated with that bitch Angelica, sir! She killed my brother!” Sean shouted angrily, but one glare from the muscular man was enough to make him shut up.
Two females walked to them and pulled the wounded Sean away while Jarvin turned to the muscular man.
“Where were we again?” He asked.
The muscular man sized him up and down before nodding at his people, who welcomed them into the cave.
Jarvin sat on the large stone, his gaze taking in every detail with precise observation.
“I don't know and care how you found out about our species. According to the law, since you aren't related to us, we should kill you or wipe your memories for even knowing we exist,” the man said to Jarvin.
Jarvin was about to open his mouth to warn the man that if he thought they came unprepared, he would be making a mistake, but the man beat him to it.
“However, I don't give two damns about those rules. Let me introduce myself. I am Keith, the rogue leader, and yes, an archenemy of those twin alphas that your Angelica is with,” Keith said before giving Jarvin some more details about what was going on.
He deliberately hid how he had kidnapped Angelica, tormented her, and how she killed his people.
After all, the madness in Jarvin's eyes when he talked about Angelica was beyond healthy. If a man could come to meet their species in the middle of the night just for the girl, it wasn't just unhealthy; it was insane.
“Now let's talk about the partnership,” Keith said, and Jarvin nodded, a smirk lingering on his lips.
“To get your girl back, we have to attack the pack and the alphas when they are least expecting it. They recently got their sister back, so they are quite relaxed. We have to prepare quickly. You get your girl, and we get the alphas and the pack. Are we clear about the benefits?” Keith asked.
Jarvin hummed.
After all, he really didn't want anything else. The only reason he was even talking to this pathetic species, hiding in the jungles from the world and impostering as humans, was for Angelica, because they would know how to tackle other wolves, or he wouldn't even bother looking at them.
“Good. Now let's discuss the strategy,” Keith said.
Jarvin leaned back slightly, looking at the so-called rogue leader.
For a leader, the wolf was quite careless. He didn't even care to check his credibility or if he was legit.
It looks like he was eager to throw those twin alphas anyhow and as soon as possible. The thought alone made Jarvin smirk.
Since Angelica found this place habitable and wanted to live here, why not gift this city to her? He wondered.
