Chapter 59 An invisible killer string
THIRD PERSON'S POV
Thunder echoed in the environment. The weather started to change drastically, an onset of something that shouldn't have happened.
“This is not good. Ronaldo, you know about it. She has already turned twenty-one. I promised her father I would keep her safe, but I couldn't.”
Marilyn cried in Ronaldo's arms as they sat inside the car to take the next flight to Amoled City so they could look for their daughter.
Hearing her words, Ronaldo sighed.
He knew what she was talking about. Marilyn was his true mate, a pure werewolf, but she had a duty to Angelica's father.
He had even promised him that he would keep the girl safe. But how long could they do it for?
Even Angelica's father knew that his baby would attract problems and troubles all over. It was a destiny she was born with.
That was one reason he was happy to hear Angelica was working for the twin Alphas and that they probably liked her.
Being under the protection of the strongest alphas would've done her good. But one wrong move and everything went downhill.
Honestly, Ronaldo didn't blame Dylan and Ericson. He was true that he was angry at their negligence and worried about Angelica, but deep down, he couldn't bring himself to blame them.
“It's not your fault, Marilyn. We tried our best. Let's not think about the worst. We will save her, and hopefully, before anything happens.” Ronaldo caressed his mate’s back, praying to the moon goddess for a miracle to save their daughter.
Though Angelica wasn't his blood, he loved her no less than his daughter.
In the abandoned building where Keith took Angelica, the girl was on the verge of being physically assaulted and couldn’t help but cry pitifully, extending her chained hands.
‘I don't know if there is any moon goddess in this world, but these wolves pray to you. Please help me and save me from this humiliation,” Angelica prayed, resorting to her last hope as her vision deepened.
The men’s laughs haunted her subconscious as they looked at her lecherously, patiently waiting their turn.
As the man who had slapped her earlier and was about to rape her sat on his knees, ready to push his dick in Angelica's pussy, wanting to satisfy himself, they suddenly heard a loud bang like sound outside.
“What's going on? You check it?” The man said to his subordinates before he positioned himself again, not wanting to spoil his fun over some sound
However, as soon as he lowered himself, the door behind them flew open, and everyone turned around to see what it was with wide eyes.
“What's Happening?” One of them said that when they didn't see anyone standing there.
The leader furrowed his brows before standing and zipping his pants.
His people's safety came first before a bitch to him.
“Who's there?” He asked again.
But no sound came from the other side.
“Is this some joke?” The man walked outside.
As soon as he stepped outside, all he could see was a string-like thing before it passed straight through his neck.
He stood there for a second before his head fell off his body, rolling down.
His body fell on the ground with a loud thud, and everyone gasped.
“Boss!” The man's loyal subordinate rushed ahead in shock.
He sat close to his boss's body before he ran outside to see who dared to attack them.
However, just like his boss, as soon as he stepped out, he saw the sharp string, and his head was sliced off.
The remaining men stepped back in fear.
They couldn't see anyone. Nor was there a window to see what it was or who it was attacking them.
The only thing they could see was that someone was attacking them.
“Are we really getting scared of something? We are fourteen. If there were a troop, our boss would've told us. Only one or two people sneaked here,” one of the men said, and everyone agreed with his logic.
Thus, they decided it was better if they walked out together. That way, they will be able to tackle whoever it was.
The pain and humiliation Angelica expected didn't come. She opened her eyes slowly, barely conscious, and saw a dead body lying at some distance.
The thick smell of blood made her nauseous, and she closed her eyes again to calm her raging heart.
The men walked out the door one by one.
Nothing happened.
All fourteen of them stood outside the room, looking around.
“See, I was telling you. There is only one or two—" The man who suggested earlier opened his mouth again, but before he could complete his sentence, they heard weird collective sounds, and the strings moved.
The metal strings had no beginning or end. They drifted into the air, making it impossible for people to dodge them.
The men, seeing their friends getting butchered, wanted to run inside the room, but it was almost as if someone held their feet with ropes.
If they tried to run, something hindered them. The fate of the sixteen men was written by an invisible force that seemed untamable.
Within five minutes, all the men lay on the ground in a pool of their blood with their limbs and heads butchered mercilessly.
Angelica opened her eyes again when she didn't hear anything.
It was quiet, the kind that made her heart engulfed with fear.
She didn't know who was killing these men. She didn't know if she should be grateful or fearful.
All she knew was that she was saved from humiliation.
There was indeed a moon goddess who probably saved her.
With this thought, Angelica closed her eyes and stopped fighting her consciousness.
As she drifted into the darkness, she felt someone lifting her body bridal style.
“Sorry, Führerin. I am late.” Someone whispered into her ears before she was taken out of the place full of dirty stench.
\~~~~
She didn't know how long she had been out for.
Angelica vividly remembered getting into the taxi and then being abducted by Keith and almost being mauled by his goons.
Her body ached terribly, but it also felt like she was healing.
Where was she? Angelica groaned and opened her eyes, her brows furrowing when she noticed she was in some cottage.
She was wearing a new set of clothes and smelled clean.
“Hello?” She groaned, her lips dry and her throat parched.
“Is there—” Angelica started to speak again, wondering if no one heard her.
However, the rest of the words stuck in her throat when someone walked inside the room with a tray of food, leaving her baffled.
Her pupils dilated.
Tyler?
