Chapter 10: Simon

“Is he going to be alright? He has been acting strange all day.” Jared’s voice cut through the darkness.

“It is very strange what is happening. I have never seen it in a wolf before. The best I can do is draw some blood, run some tests, and keep him hydrated. Until I know more that’s the best I can do.”

I breathed deeply; I allowed my eyes to drift open.

“He’s up!” Jared said as he walked to my side. “You were out for a bit. How are you feeling?”

“Like a train fucking hit me. My head hurts like a bitch.”

“Did you hit your head?” Doc asked as he pulled out his little light and shined it in my eyes.

“No. Stop. Are you trying to blind me?” I pushed the light away.

“Hmmm.”

“What?”

“It seems like you are suffering from a concussion. Are you sure you didn’t hit your head? Or something fell on you?”

“No Doc, nothing like that.”

“Ok, take it easy Alpha. Beta, make sure to keep an eye on him. Wake him up every forty-five minutes. If he starts vomiting call me immediately.”

“Yes, sir.”

“That’s ridiculous. I’m fine just a little under the weather.” I said as I sat up in bed and attempted to pull out the needle from my arm.

“For my piece of mind Alpha, at least wait until you get that full IV and then you can remove the needle.” Doc patted my arm, turned, and walked out of my room.

Jared pulled my leather side chair beside the bed and put his feet up at the end. “While we are here, we might as well get comfortable.” He chuckled as he turned on the TV. “What do you feel like watching?” He said as he flipped through Netflix.

“I don’t care. I just want to sleep.” I said as I leaned back on my pillows.

“Remember that if you go to sleep, I have to wake you up in forty-five. I would greatly appreciate it if you didn’t kill me for waking you up.”

“No promises.” I said as I smiled at him.

“I would appreciate it as well if you didn’t kill my mate.” Greta said as she made her way into the room. “So how are you feeling, faker?” She flopped down beside me in bed and looked at the TV screen.

“Doc said I have a concussion.”

“A concussion? That’s crazy. We were with you the entire time when this happened, and you definitely didn’t get hit.” Greta stopped and pointed to the screen. “Oh, that one! Let’s watch that one!”

“Cabin in the woods?” Jared said as he lifted an eyebrow at her.

“Love horror movies.”

“I hate horror movies.” I said with a sigh.

“That’s something new I didn’t know.” Jared said as he clicked on the movie. “If this doesn’t keep you up, I don’t know what will.”

“Baby!” Greta said and poked my side.

“Don’t mess with the injured. Haven’t you heard that before?”

“Nope.” She smiled as the movie started.

The movie played; my mind wandered. What was happening to me? Today has been crazy, I hope it’s just a twenty-four-hour bug or something.

“Hey, are you alright? You’re crying.” Greta says as she stared at me.

“Huh?” I wiped tears off my face.

“The movie isn’t that scary,” Jared chuckled.

“I wasn’t even paying attention.” I used the hem of my shirt to dry my face. I shake my head. “Let’s just watch the movie.”

“Ok, man.” Jared said as he leaned back in the chair.

The movie continued but I was distracted with my thoughts and only focused on it when I heard screaming and horror. My hands started to tingle. I clench my hand and extend it a few times. The feeling spread up my arms and through my body. It didn’t hurt, it felt good, and warm.

“Oh my god! Are you ok? You’re floating!” Greta yelled as she jumped off the bed.

I looked down and I was lifted a few inches off of the bed. “I don’t know what’s happening.” I looked at Jared, worry etched across my face.

“Greta go call Doc!” She nodded her head and ran to get her phone. “What do you feel like?”

“I feel warm, not in a bad way. But a good way. I feel good, like the energy I lost is now back and in full force.”

“Ok,” Jared said, concerned.

“I feel fucking awesome.” I said looking at my body. The energy pumped through my blood; it made my veins pop throughout my body. As quickly as I lifted from the bed, I slowly drifted down. I lifted myself off the bed and pulled out the IV needle from my arm. I went to the bathroom and flexed in the mirror. Inspecting my muscles and face which seemed to look younger, healthier. The worry lines that formed on my forehead were no longer as prominent. I looked at my eyes, little purple bolts danced around my irises. “Oh shit!”

Jared busted into the bathroom. “What? What happened?”

“I don’t know about you, but I think I may be becoming a superhero!” I said, as I continued to look at my eyes. The bolts went away, but the energy remained.

“What are you saying?” Jared stepped toward me.

“You know in the comics that something happens to the superhero before they turn into a superhero. Like Spiderman, he got bitten by a spider and then he turned into Spiderman. Well maybe I got sick, contracted some superhuman abilities and now I’m like this superhero.” I said as I looked at Jared through the mirror. “Just now, I had lightning bolts in my eyes! My. Eyes. Man. And not to mention I was flying before. You can’t say that that’s a coincidence.”

“I can’t tell you what’s going on,” Jared said as he rubbed his face trying to think of a logical solution to this scenario. “First, you just floated there for a second, it has been said that monks are able to levitate in heighted states or mediation.”

“So, your saying that you believe that I am some sort of monk that could make myself levitate?”

“I don’t know what you do in your free time, Si.”

“You don’t know what I do in my free time?” I looked at him through the mirror and lifted an eyebrow. “That gives me an idea.” I pulled the waistband of my pants to show my dick. It was hard and pulsing against the fabric of my sweats. It looked bigger. Now that I thought about it, it was so hard that the fabric irritated it in this super sensitive state. “Raging boner!”

“Is that your superhero name?” Jared asked, sarcastically.

“No! But damn I’ve never had it this hard before. Even with a group of the hottest Omegas.”

“What about a group of the hottest Omegas?” Greta came into the bathroom to stand next to Jared. “What’s happening in here? She looked from me to Jared and back.

“Just coming to the conclusion that I may be becoming a superhero,” I laughed.

“That’s dumb,” Greta said as she started to laugh.

I looked at her, taken aback. “You dare call your Alpha dumb?” A slight smile formed on my lips.

“Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, I’m gonna call it a duck.” She said and shook her head. “And for the fact that you are a fucking werewolf. You are already a superhero, technically.”

“That is very sound logic, babe.” Jared said and kissed the side of her head.

“I’m extra powerful now.”

“What are you going use your raging boner to save the city?” Jared asked and laughed. Greta took a quick glance at my pants.

“I saw that. And you never know. I could be a new alternative type of hero!”

“This is ridiculous. Babe, what did Doc say?”

“He’s on his way. But I wonder if it’s worth it since we have a new superhero in our midst.” Greta said, crossed her arms and leaned against the door frame.

“Shut up.” I said and winked at her. I looked at Jared. “I like her. Totally approve of this mate of yours.”

“Now that I have Alpha’s approval I’m going to go downstairs to wait for the doc,” she said. Before she could go through the door she paused. “If you come up with any other theories, please let me know. I could use a good laugh.” She walked out of the room.

“Feisty as hell man. She’s a good match for you,” I said. I turned around leaned against the basin of the sink.

“She definitely keeps me on my toes. I never know what she will say next, which is exciting and terrifying at the same time. I’m glad you can take a joke, or else I could see her being sent to the dungeons with any other Alpha in the area.”

“If she ever crossed a line, I would let her know and you know. But she would only get one warning,” I said and smiled at him. Some of the other Alphas didn’t have a sense of humor. They were definitely older than I was, but they took everything so seriously. I could see Garret and Layla scoffing at half of what came out of Greta’s mouth.

“I couldn’t ask for a better mate,” Jared beamed. He was now complete and content with his life.

“I’m happy for you, man.” I walked toward him and patted him on the shoulder. “If anyone deserves a mate, it is definitely you.”

“Thanks.” He smiled with a dazed look on his face. He snapped out of it quickly. “I just know you will find your mate soon. Maybe at the Yule ball you will find her? There is a wealth of possibilities there.”

I took a deep breath. I was twenty-six and this ever-looming issue of me not having a mate was a constant issue. Twenty-six wasn’t old, but in the matter of being mated, it was ancient. “It will happen when it happens. I’m hoping sooner rather than later, so everyone gets off my back about it.”

Jared shook his head at me.

“And to find the love of my life…of course.”

He laughed.

“Now if you don’t mind, I need to take care of this raging boner before I jizz in my pants.” I said as I held the door as a signal for Jared to walk through and leave me alone with my dick.

“Too much information.” he said and shook his head. “I’m going down to the living room and wait for Doc with Greta.” He walked out of the room and left me alone.
