Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Charlotte paused slightly and instinctively looked back.

A man walked out of Nora's office, wearing a formal dark gray suit with one hand in his pocket. Young and handsome, but with a somewhat improper, roguish air about him.

He walked over, staring intently at the bracelet on Charlotte's wrist.

"I'm asking you a question. Where did this bracelet come from?"

Charlotte glanced at the employee badge on his chest.

Data Department Manager, Philip Langley.

She had heard Victoria mention that Charles had two children - a cousin named Philip and a cousin named Nora.

So this must be her so-called cousin.

Another spoiled brat lacking discipline.

Charlotte didn't have a good impression of Philip, and her tone was even colder. "Do I need to explain to you where my bracelet came from? Or does your data department specifically manage employees' personal belongings?"

People in the office area exchanged glances.

Both of these were people they didn't dare offend, so they could only keep their heads down and prick up their ears to listen.

Philip frowned tightly and commanded forcefully, "Cut the crap! I've been looking for this bracelet for a long time. Name your price, I'll buy it."

His tone carried a sense of entitlement.

Charlotte coldly refused, "Not for sale."

Philip didn't expect to be rejected. He froze for a moment, then let out an unhappy, cold laugh.

He disdainfully pulled out a black card and waved it in front of Charlotte.

"See what this is? I'm giving you a chance to get rich by naming any price, and you don't treasure it? Let me tell you, even if you ask for ten million, I can afford it. That's enough for you to spend your whole life."

"Are you unable to understand human speech, or are you deaf?" Charlotte looked at him impatiently. "I said it's not for sale."

Philip froze.

Being rejected repeatedly in front of so many people, he suddenly felt very embarrassed.

Only then did he properly look at the girl in front of him.

Very young, very pretty, looking like a college student fresh out of school.

Although she had an outstanding temperament, she didn't look like someone who could afford to wear Pink Moon Love.

He looked Charlotte up and down contemptuously. "My mistake for thinking you were wearing the real thing. Do you even know how much the authentic version of this bracelet is worth? You're just an ordinary employee wearing a knockoff - aren't you ashamed?"

Charlotte raised her eyebrows slightly and lifted her wrist. "You're saying it's fake?"

"What else?" Philip sneered. "Pink Moon Love sold for eight million at auction back then, and now it's priceless. Tell me, which wealthy family are you from, wearing Pink Moon Love to work at the Langley Group?"

Many employees couldn't help but sneak glances at Charlotte's bracelet.

This girl who Charles treated carefully and even Nora didn't dare act cocky around - they still didn't know her true identity.

Since she wasn't an ordinary person, then it should be authentic, right?

For a moment, several people started discussing in low voices.

Charlotte ignored those looks and just curved her lips. "You're right, this bracelet is indeed worth several million. But you said I'm wearing a fake, yet just now you were waving your black card wanting to buy it. So are your eyes bad and you can't tell quality, or because I won't sell, you're making excuses for yourself by insisting my bracelet is fake?"

Philip's face completely changed color from her retort.

He clenched his fists and coldly questioned, "Do you know who you're talking to?"

Charlotte crossed her arms and said unhurriedly, "The Data Department manager, Mr. Langley. If you think I've offended you in any way, go directly to HR and complain. I still have work to do and no time to waste here with you."

Philip took a deep breath and laughed in anger.

He nodded and took out his phone.

"Fine, I'll call Nora right now. I want to see if she can control you!"

Just then, someone in the office area cried out in alarm.

"Oh no! My computer system seems to have been maliciously infected with a virus. The entire folder is encrypted and won't open no matter what! What do I do? I need to send this to our partners in half an hour!"

Philip paused and turned to scold that person. "What are you good for? Hurry up and solve the problem!"

The employee was so anxious tears came out, choking up, "But, but I don't know how to decrypt it. This requires hacking skills. What do I do..."

Philip narrowed his eyes and looked at Charlotte's employee badge. "Hey, aren't you the deputy manager of this department? Your subordinate has a problem and you're not quickly helping to solve it? If you can't even handle this, I'll have to report it truthfully to HR!"

He was waiting to see Charlotte make a fool of herself.

Charlotte said nothing but walked directly toward that employee.

Philip waved for someone to get the technical department.

He didn't believe Charlotte could solve it at all. He was just deliberately saying this in front of everyone, wanting to see Charlotte's embarrassed look when she couldn't solve the problem.

Then he could just say something to HR and easily get rid of her, right?

As soon as Philip had this thought, Charlotte had already pushed the employee aside and sat down at the computer.

Everyone curiously gathered around, watching Charlotte's hands land on the keyboard and begin operating.

In just a few seconds, the computer made a successful unlock notification sound.

"Beep beep! Your encrypted files have been unlocked."

Everyone's eyes widened, staring blankly at all this.

How did she just do that?

They didn't even see clearly - some messy code appeared on the screen, and then the folder was unlocked!

"It only took a few seconds, that's amazing!"

"Ms. Johnson, have you studied hacking? This is a difficult problem that only the technical department could solve!"

Charlotte was submerged in a chorus of exclamations.

Philip was stunned. He took a long stride and walked behind Charlotte in disbelief.

Seeing the computer's restored interface clearly, he was dumbfounded.

This girl was this good?

At this moment, technical staff rushed over with their computers.

"Mr. Langley, where's the problem we need to solve?"

Charlotte looked up and said flatly, "The computer was attacked by a hacker and the folder was maliciously locked. I've already unlocked it."

The technical staff was surprised. "You unlocked it so quickly? How long did it take?"

An employee helped answer, "Less than five seconds, maybe three seconds."

"Three seconds?!"

The technical staff looked at Charlotte as if seeing a ghost, shocked. "For this kind of problem, even our fastest technical department staff would need at least half an hour! Your hacking skills are world-class!"

Philip heard this and looked at Charlotte with eyes full of doubt.

Was this girl really this strong?

Charlotte still didn't stop operating. "I've installed a detection system on the computer. Your technical department can copy it to all the company's computers with one click. From now on, you won't have to worry about hackers invading - it will intercept and counter-track in the first second."

The technical staff gasped and stepped forward.

Young, female, top-level hacking skills.

He asked solemnly, "Are you that legendary figure in the hacking world, Zero?"
