Chapter 38
Nora let out a scornful laugh, her eyes showing a trace of pity and contempt for Charlotte.
"Do you even know who Ms. Garcia from Sterling Group is? She's been in the jewelry industry for twenty years with incredibly high standards. Someone as young as you - she won't even give you a second glance!"
Charlotte remained unmoved, just staring at her coldly.
"Just tell me - do you dare to bet or not?"
"Why wouldn't I dare?" Nora snorted, crossing her arms. "Ms. Garcia will be here soon. If you want to throw away your job here, I'll help you do it! But let me make this clear upfront - if you screw this up, not only will you have to get out of the sales department, you'll also have to apologize to me in front of everyone and admit that you're not as good as me."
Charlotte narrowed her eyes without saying a word.
Nora became even more disdainful. "What? You don't want to?"
"I didn't say that."
Charlotte raised her eyebrows slightly. "Whatever you want, I'll go along with it all the way."
Seeing her maintain such a calm demeanor throughout, Nora felt somewhat curious.
Was she deliberately acting relaxed, or what was going on?
Nora snorted lightly. "Fine. They'll be here in half an hour. Don't you dare run away."
With that, she turned and went back to her office.
As soon as she left, the surrounding employees looked at Charlotte and started whispering even more excessively.
"Is this woman out of her mind? We've been trying to land the Sterling Group deal for so long without success, and she thinks she can close it as a new hire?"
"Exactly. If she can sign this deal, then none of us need to stay in the sales department - we might as well all quit."
Charlotte showed no expression, didn't even listen, and just turned and left.
Lily followed behind her and entered the office.
"This Ms. Garcia from Sterling Group is really difficult to deal with. Should I tell Ms. Langley?"
"No need. I don't need to rely on my mother yet."
Charlotte's expression was calm. "It's just Sterling Group. No need to bother her."
Lily's eyes widened in shock, wanting to say something but holding back.
She really wanted to ask Charlotte if she even knew who this so-called Ms. Garcia was, and what level this group was at.
But seeing Charlotte's composed and unhurried manner, she didn't know what to say.
She had only been in contact with Charlotte for less than two hours, but she could feel a very hard-to-describe cool aura emanating from her.
That feeling of being suppressed without any visible force - she had never experienced it with anyone else before.
Maybe Charlotte really did have a way and wasn't just showing off or bragging.
Soon, half an hour later, the people from Sterling Group arrived right on time.
Ella Garcia was a middle-aged woman in her forties with extremely short hair, wearing silver-framed glasses and a very androgynous silver suit.
At first glance, you couldn't tell if she was male or female.
Two assistants followed behind her, both with poker faces, looking unapproachable.
Nora was a bit nervous. She immediately came out of her office, smiling as she extended her hand.
"Hello, Ms. Garcia, welcome, welcome. We've finally been waiting for you to come."
Ella nodded faintly, her gaze sweeping over the messy office area of the sales department, her brow furrowing slightly.
Nora noticed she seemed dissatisfied with something, but still smiled enthusiastically.
"Let's talk in the conference room. I've already had someone prepare the coffee you like."
"No need."
Ella interrupted her, saying coldly, "I'm only here today as a formality. We've discussed the contract very clearly before. Your quote is higher than other companies. We don't accept this price, and you're at the bottom of our consideration list."
The smile on Nora's face stiffened slightly. "Ms. Garcia, we can discuss the price further. Although our group's quote is relatively high, but..."
"There's nothing to discuss."
Ella refused again. "Unless your price can be lowered to match the others, I won't consider it. You don't need to say anything more."
Her attitude was very firm, and she was about to leave after speaking.
Nora panicked.
If she lost this deal, she wouldn't be able to explain it to Victoria.
She gritted her teeth, turned around sharply, and looked at Charlotte, who had just walked out of the office.
Nora narrowed her eyes and walked over step by step.
She stared at Charlotte intently.
"Didn't you say you wanted to personally handle Ms. Garcia and that you could close this deal? Now she's here and about to leave, why aren't you stepping up!"
Her words were sharp and somewhat mocking.
Ella stopped curiously and turned around.
Charlotte walked over calmly and extended her hand. "Hello, Ms. Garcia."
Ella had no good impression of the entire sales department.
Everyone was sloppy, and the office area had a faint strange smell of food and perfume mixed together, making her nose feel almost blocked.
She casually glanced at the woman in front of her, not wanting to pay attention.
But when Ella's gaze fell on Charlotte's face, she suddenly froze and slowly widened her eyes.
She couldn't be mistaken!
She had been in the jewelry industry for a full twenty years and had collaborated several times on limited edition designs with Queen!
She herself had collected many of Queen's jewelry works since her debut!
She recognized almost immediately that Charlotte was Queen, whose identity had been revealed some time ago!
Ella looked at Charlotte nervously and in shock, almost about to call out: "You, you are..."
Charlotte immediately shook her head, signaling her not to reveal it.
Ella understood what she meant, knowing that Charlotte didn't want to expose her identity.
She took a deep breath and suppressed her excited expression.
"This young lady is..."
"This is our sales department's new deputy manager, Ms. Johnson."
Nora introduced her with a disdainful tone. "Ms. Johnson was bold enough to claim that as long as she met with you, she would definitely secure a partnership with you."
Charlotte smiled slightly. "Ms. Garcia, although my words were bold, I'm sincere about wanting to work with you."
"You're too kind. Being able to come to the Langley Group to discuss cooperation with you is my honor."
Ella's attitude did a complete 180-degree turn. She nodded respectfully at Charlotte, changing from her previous arrogant demeanor to a respectful posture, her voice softening considerably.
Nora was stunned, and everyone in the sales department looked equally confused.
What was going on?
This so-called Ms. Garcia had been indifferent to every one of them, famously difficult to deal with.
But she was being so polite to a newcomer?
What on earth was happening?
Nora was somewhat bewildered.
Even the two assistants Ms. Garcia brought with her were shocked and didn't know what to say.
