Chapter 133

Chapter 133

The whole thing was over in two or three seconds, but it sent a chill down everyone's spine.

Meanwhile, the instigator had already made it through Death's Curve. He glanced in his rearview mirror and saw the Mustang narrowly escape disaster. A flash of disbelief crossed his eyes.

But it was quickly replaced by mounting excitement!

She was done for!

After a scare like that, forget some ordinary woman—

Even a professional racer would be left with psychological scars, assuming they were lucky enough to survive.

In severe cases, they might even retire, never able to get behind the wheel again.

He reveled in the thought, joy flooding his chest.

But before the notion could fully settle, a familiar sound roared from behind—the engine's growl, like a beast unleashed.

He whipped his head around and saw the black Mustang, after a brief adjustment, charging forward even more ferociously than before!

At this moment, Charlotte's eyes were ice-cold.

She'd intended to race fair and square, but what they'd done had crossed every line.

If they wanted her dead, well—she didn't need to hold back anymore either.

Over the next half lap, the race turned into a one-sided massacre.

At every curve, Charlotte drove more aggressively, hitting her lines with surgical precision, steadily closing the gap between them.

Several times, her wheels even bit into the grass at the track's edge, kicking up clouds of dust and radiating an overwhelming sense of menace.

Upton panicked.

He could feel the pressure from the woman behind him. His heart pounded violently, and the sensation of being hunted by an apex predator kept circling in his mind.

He started swerving erratically, trying to block Charlotte's advance.

But unfortunately, every move he made looked ridiculous and clumsy, utterly ineffective.

On the final straightaway, the two cars burst forward nearly side by side.

One last stretch of road remained. Whoever could overtake the other would claim victory!

"Block her! Don't let her pass!"

Douglas roared at the top of his lungs, his eyes bloodshot.

Hearing the command, Upton gritted his teeth and tried the same dirty trick again.

But this time, Charlotte was ready.

The moment the Ferrari came at her, instead of slowing down, she slammed the gas pedal even harder.

"Vroom!"

The Mustang roared, lurching forward, and the Ferrari's strike missed entirely. Off-balance, it wobbled slightly.

That split-second delay sealed the outcome!

Under everyone's incredulous stares, the black Mustang crossed the finish line, leaving the Ferrari far behind.

The sharp screech of brakes filled the air as the Mustang came to a smooth stop just past the finish line.

The entire venue fell deathly silent.

Douglas's face turned utterly grim. His jaw clenched as he glared at Charlotte with sinister intensity.

The young woman stepped out of the car, tilted her chin up slightly, and walked straight toward Douglas.

"Car keys."

"And the share transfer agreement. Right now."

After hearing her words, Douglas's face went pale. His lips trembled, but he couldn't get a single word out.

"Why the hell should we give you anything?!" A guy with dyed blond hair standing beside him jumped forward first, shouting at Charlotte. "Who knows if you cheated?!"

"That car's definitely rigged! Jason must've done something to it! Otherwise, how could you possibly beat a professional racer?!"

At his words, the others snapped out of their stupor and immediately turned hostile eyes on Charlotte, chiming in one after another.

"Exactly! How could this woman drive that fast and that well? It's impossible!"

"Upton even competed in F1 before. How could he lose to some amateur?!"

"Damn it, you guys must've broken the rules! This race doesn't count! We're doing it over!"

Their voices grew louder and louder, as if sheer volume could determine the winner.

Jason's face flushed red with anger at their shameless excuses. He stepped forward, positioning himself in front of Charlotte, and cursed them out.

"Just admit you can't handle losing! Stop making up bullshit excuses!"

"So when you win, it's deserved, but when we win, we cheated? Have you no shame?!"

"Everyone saw what happened during the race—Douglas's guy tried to ram Charlotte off the cliff! If she wasn't such a good driver, she'd be dead right now!"

"You lose and then accuse us of foul play? You're all shameless and disgusting!"

"Who the hell are you calling disgusting?!" The blond guy, hit where it hurt, flew into a rage and shoved Jason.

Seeing this, Jason's crew immediately surrounded the blond guy, their expressions darkening.

"What? You wanna fight?!"

"Lost the race and now you're getting physical? Never seen anyone this shameless!"

As the tension escalated and a brawl seemed imminent, a slender, pale hand gently rested on Jason's shoulder, pulling him back.

Charlotte stepped forward from behind him. Her gaze was calm as she looked at the rowdy group of spoiled rich kids, finally settling on Douglas in the center. Her eyes narrowed slightly.

Gradually, the atmosphere grew eerily quiet.

With each step Charlotte took forward, they took one back. Finally, she stood in front of Douglas, tilting her head up slightly to meet his eyes.

"What? Planning to go back on your word?"

"Or maybe you didn't get enough of a taste earlier and want to try again?"

The sudden remark made Douglas's face change instantly. Beads of cold sweat appeared on his temples.

He instinctively clutched his still-throbbing hand, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed hard.

"You…"

He managed only one word before the rest stuck in his throat.

Seeing Douglas so frightened, the lackeys behind him lost their nerve as well, thoroughly deflated.

Watching his fearful expression, Charlotte let out a cold laugh, her eyes full of mockery.

"When you lose, you accept it."

"You do know what it means to honor a bet, don't you?"

"Of course, if you don't, I don't mind helping you—and them—remember what the rules are."

At those words, everyone's faces changed.

Charlotte pressed her lips together and fixed her gaze on the loudest troublemaker.

"Cruz, if I remember correctly, your father's logistics company got fined last month for illegal transport violations, didn't it?"

"What do you think he'd do if he found out you took one of the company cars out to gamble away tens of millions in shares? Think he'd break your legs?"

The blond guy's expression froze the moment he heard her words.
