Chapter 11
Charlotte didn't care about that junk text message at all.
Five minutes before the livestream started, she was testing her equipment when Jason rushed in with his phone.
"Benjamin is stirring up trouble in the esports community. Check out this post."
Charlotte raised an eyebrow, took the phone to look, and sneered coldly. "That's all he's got?"
Benjamin had posted some fake chat records on a gaming forum, claiming to be Crown's friend and exposing insider information.
The post claimed that Crown was actually a woman who had been deceiving her female fans for years.
It also said Crown's real skills were nothing special, and the reason she looked so good and stayed at the top of the rankings for years was because several top players were being paid to help maintain her ranking and points.
Everyone knew Benjamin loved playing this game. He'd mentioned on the forum before that he knew Crown and they had some connection in private.
With him personally coming out to expose this, everyone believed the post without hesitation.
"Holy crap, Crown is actually a woman? How can her female fans handle this? They've been calling her 'hubby' every day, and it turns out she's some fat female shut-in."
"Benjamin himself came out to expose this, so it must be true. I knew it - how could anyone be that good and stay at the top for five whole years?"
"With so many talented people emerging, even if she was really good, she couldn't keep suppressing all the rising stars. Turns out someone was playing for her!"
Not only were random people mocking her, some female fans were also heartbroken and threatening to unfollow.
But most fans were still willing to believe in Charlotte, saying they wouldn't believe any of this until she personally responded.
"Boss, Benjamin started a livestream."
Jason reminded her, gesturing for Charlotte to look at the screen.
Charlotte looked up just in time to see Benjamin starting a livestream on the forum.
In the stream, he was wearing designer clothes, chewing gum, staring expressionlessly at the camera.
"Crown, I know you're watching my stream right now. Do you dare face your fans? Do you dare admit you're a girl?"
His eyes flashed with a gleam of schadenfreude, as if he could really see through the screen and lock eyes with Charlotte.
Charlotte's eyes darkened, but she smiled instead of getting angry. "Idiot."
She immediately put on her headset and casually logged into her streaming account to go live.
This time, Charlotte turned on her camera directly.
Massive waves of people flooded into the stream. In less than two minutes, the viewer count had reached over 100,000.
Everyone gasped when they saw Charlotte.
No one expected that Crown, the person they worshipped as a god, was actually a girl wearing a black hoodie with a cold expression and a hint of world-weariness!
Charlotte faced the camera calmly, chewing gum, speaking casually.
"My game ID is Crown. I never said whether I was male or female. Whether you're female fans or whatever kind of fans, I don't need to explain anything to you. The gender you assigned me was just your own assumption."
She paused, then blew a bubble at the camera, lazy and provocative.
"Benjamin, since you say I've stayed at the top because I paid people to play for me, I'm going live right now to take on any player who wants to solo me, including you."
"I haven't streamed in so long, you've all forgotten who the absolute ruler of this game is."
"Today, whoever isn't convinced, I'll beat them."
The next second, a flashy, cool identity badge appeared in the stream.
Benjamin entered the stream with fanfare.
[In terms of skill, I obviously can't beat you, but I have three friends here. Do you dare fight them one by one?]
His paid comment floated across the stream, impossible to miss.
The stream exploded instantly.
[Even one solo match requires a lot of energy and focus. Isn't fighting three people too much?]
[Hey, are you feeling sorry for this woman? If she's really a top player, she should show extraordinary skill and stamina. Otherwise, how can she convince anyone?]
[If she really wins three matches in a row, I'll acknowledge her as the god of this game. But she won't win.]
[No one can crush three masters like that. If she can do it, I'll streak naked.]
Charlotte narrowed her eyes and locked onto that betting comment.
After a couple of operations, she pinned the comment to the top of the stream.
"You want to streak that badly? I'll make it happen. Wait for it."
Charlotte opened the training ground directly. "Benjamin, send your dogs in to fight."
She sat casually, leaning lazily in her chair, maintaining a rebellious and wild posture throughout.
Meanwhile, another person was sitting in front of a computer, watching this livestream.
Alexander took a sip of coffee, watching Charlotte's delicate face hidden under the hoodie with interest.
His assistant had mentioned Benjamin was causing trouble online. He casually clicked on the stream and unexpectedly saw Charlotte there.
The battle had already begun. Charlotte's stream showed three camera angles.
Her face, her keyboard, and her screen.
On the keyboard, her slender fingers moved so fast they blurred, making people think the stream was dropping frames.
In less than a minute, the first challenger's health bar was depleted and he was quickly defeated.
The stream went wild. Alexander's lips curved slightly.
"With hand speed like that, it's a waste she's not a hacker."
He casually clicked his keyboard.
Charlotte's stream suddenly filled with money rain effects. An unknown account with no spending level instantly sent ten carnival ships worth ten thousand each.
The stream's popularity shot up even higher.
"Holy crap, is this Crown's real strength? She can directly KO an expert!"
"Oh my god, I've seen a real god."
"That hand speed, those tactics - amazing!"
Charlotte's expression remained calm. She only glanced at the gift record in the stream, her voice cool.
"Thanks to this... Cloud for the ten carnival ships."
Benjamin stared at the screen, somewhat frantically provoking: "That was just the weakest one. What are you so proud of!"
The next second, the second player entered.
Charlotte flexed her wrist. "Each one stronger than the last? Fine."
She casually operated the computer. This time, it only took thirty seconds.
Cloud sent another ten ships.
Charlotte calmly adjusted her headset, saying coolly, "Thanks for the gift."
When the third player entered, it was Blackhawk, who everyone knew as the perennial second place.
But this time, Charlotte's moves were deadly, instantly killing the opponent in less than ten seconds.
The stream's comments seemed to freeze. A full five seconds later, various comments of submission flooded out crazily, and the stream's viewer count exceeded one million.
Everyone was in an uproar.
[Crown is a god!]
[This game should fell lucky that Crown chose it! With skills like that, she'd be treasured in any game!]
[Can't imagine what it would be like if Crown entered competitions. I'm convinced...]
This time, Cloud made another move, casually sending one million worth of ship gifts.
Charlotte's calm eyes finally flickered.
