Chapter 27 Human world
He kept thrusting into me, filling me with a warmth I had never felt in my entire life. Every impact was a heavy reminder of his power, but I realized then that I had power too. I needed to win this ruthless man over. I needed to make him mine, not just for the pleasure, but for my survival. I needed him to be under my spell. That way, I could finally take control of my revenge. I would have the King of Prussia as my sword, and he would cut down anyone I pointed at.
He hit harder and harder, burying himself deep inside me.
"Fuck!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. The sound echoed off the stone walls of the chamber, bouncing back at us.
He didn't slow down. He hit faster, his breath coming in short, ragged hitches. I felt a hot, heavy rush deep inside. He groaned, a long, low sound of total surrender, and released his ejaculation inside me.
Wait... did he just cum in me?
I froze for a second, my heart racing even faster than before. He didn't pull away like he was supposed to. Instead, he held me tightly against his massive frame, dragging me against his chest. He stayed there, breathing hard, his skin slick and wet with sweat. He leaned down and kissed my shoulders softly.
"I hope our bonds do not get rejected," he whispered. His voice was so soft it sounded like someone else was speaking. "I am happy... I haven't had this type of sex in a very long time. And Aurora... I am so sorry for what happened earlier tonight. Phina... she has been the one bathing me for years. It was just a habit. I didn't think about how it would look to you."
I smiled into the darkness of the room. I could hardly believe my ears. The Hollow King, the man who killed without blinking, was actually apologizing to me. At the same time, I remembered the stories I had read in the books I’d snuck into the Moonstone pits. They said men would do literally anything for a woman when the sex was good enough to blur their vision. It seemed the books were right.
"You don't have to worry anymore," I said. I turned in his arms so I could look at his face. "But from now on, I want to be the one bathing you. I want us to do this every time until we get what we want. I heard you needed a child to continue your family line. You have done everything for me... even if our bonds are rejected, why don't we go ahead and make babies? Or would that be against the Moon Goddess's rules?"
Deacon went silent. The tenderness I had seen in his eyes just a second ago flickered and went out. It was replaced by a dark shadow I couldn't understand.
"You know, some things are better left unsaid, Aurora," he said. He pulled me closer and tucked my head under his chin, ending the conversation. "Come on. Let's sleep. It’s almost morning."
I fell asleep to the steady, heavy thrum of his heart. In that moment, I felt more like a Queen than I ever had in my life. But when I woke up, the warmth was gone.
The sunlight was pouring through the heavy velvet curtains, and the bed beside me was cold to the touch. I checked the clock on the mantle; it was already 11:00 AM. He was gone.
"Elio!" I called out, sitting up and wrapping a silk sheet around my naked body.
The door opened almost immediately, but it wasn't just Elio. Calus stood in the doorway. His face was pale, and he wouldn't look me in the eye.
"Luna," Calus said, his voice sounding strained and tight. "You are finally awake."
"Where is he? Where is King Deacon?" I asked. A knot of anxiety started tightening in my stomach. "He didn't come to wake me up. Where did he go?"
Elio stepped forward, biting her lip nervously. "Luna Aurora... the King... he left at dawn. There was a report of a breach at the border. Alpha Thorne’s scent was picked up near the crossing."
"The border?" I stood up, the sheet trailing behind me on the floor like a shroud. "You mean the Human World?"
Calus nodded solemnly. "He went into the human world territory, Luna. He took a small elite squad of guards with him. He was... he was not himself this morning. He looked like a man possessed by a demon. He said he would not return until Thorne's head was on a spike."
My blood ran cold. The human world. That was where Thorne had gone to hide, and that was where my father still held his wretched throne in the Moonstone pack’s shadow. If Deacon was there, he was walking straight into a hornets' nest. He was walking into my past.
"He shouldn't have gone alone," I whispered, my hands shaking.
"He didn't think he was alone," Calus said, looking at me with a strange, intense look in his eyes. "But Luna, something happened before he left. He tried to shift into his wolf to lead the hunt, and... he couldn't. He couldn't shift. The King who can change at will had to take a horse. He had to ride out like a common soldier."
I remembered the golden smoke from the night before—how my wound healed instantly but his didn't. I remembered how weak he had seemed for a split second. Was I draining him? Was our bond, instead of making us stronger, turning the King into a mortal man?
"Prepare my things," I commanded Elio. My voice didn't sound like mine; it sounded like a leader's.
"Luna? What are you doing? Won't you endanger him even more"
"I am the 100th mate," I said, my voice turning cold and sharp. "I am the one he risked his immortality for. If he is in the human world, he is in a territory I know. And I won't let a hybrid like Thorne or a coward like my father take what belongs to me."
"You can't go!" Calus protested, stepping into the room. "The Elders are already calling for an emergency meeting. They know the King is gone. They think you've cursed him! They're saying you're a witch!"
"Let them talk," I spat. I grabbed the black lea
ther riding gear Elio had brought in. "If I am a curse, then I am a curse they should be very, very afraid of."
