Chapter 21 HE is dying

Chapter 21 HE is dying
Then, I saw it. Aurora looked at me, and her eyes weren't the soft green I had seen in the pack house. They were a piercing, electric blue. Her wolf had finally woken up. I didn't know if she could hear me, but I reached out to the bond—that invisible wire that connected our souls.

Aurora, if you are listening to me, bite him, I spoke directly into the link, praying my voice reached her. Bite his left hand. He won't be able to resist you. Your ancient blood and his half-human filth will collide and paralyze him. Bite him now. I will catch you.

I kept my gaze locked on hers, pouring every ounce of my Alpha command into her mind. Thorne was too busy gloating to notice the change in her.

"What is the cursed King looking at?" Thorne sneered. "I said I need—ARRGHHH!"

He let out a blood-curdling scream as Aurora’s teeth sank deep into his wrist. She didn't just nip him; she bit down with the strength of a wolf. The poisoned dagger clattered to the floor.

In a heartbeat, I was there. I tore her from his grip and pulled her small, shivering body against mine. She had heard me. She had trusted me.

"This is my Luna," I whispered. A dark, triumphant smile crossed my face as I felt the heat of her skin against mine. "I’m sorry I forgot you for a moment, little one."

She stared up at me, the electric blue in her eyes fading back to green, but she didn't speak I didn't let her because The danger wasn't over. I swung my sword toward Thorne’s neck, ready to end his life right there in the dirt.

"No, Alpha!" Aurora suddenly spoke. Her voice was clear and melodic, like a bell in the woods. "Listen to what the Beta said. Please... this is not who you are."

I froze, looking at her in genuine shock. "How do you know me already? You met me days ago and you think you know my heart? You know nothing. This man touched what belongs to me."

"Ah, your little sex toy is speaking to you" Thorne laughed. He was clutching his bleeding hand, his face pale. "The whole Moonstone pack knows what she looks like beneath her clothes, King. Aren't you ashamed? You're just a monster holding a stripper."

The red mist took me. I lost every ounce of my control. I shifted instantly, my body exploding into my massive, black werewolf form. The sound of my bones snapping filled the clearing.

Thorne scrambled up, grabbing a discarded blade from the ground. We began to circle each other. The air was thick with the scent of wet fur, sweat, and death. I wanted to jump on him, I wanted to attack him but I couldn't, because if I do I might end up endangering Aurora, so I will shift back

I tried to shift back, to grab her, but the rage was too deep, trapping me in my wolf form I decided to go with the attacm I jumped at alpha Thorne. Thorne used his knife to slice a deep, jagged line across her waist as he threw her aside in defence. Before I could snap my jaws around his throat, he vanished into the thick trees.

I roared, a sound of pure agony that echoed through all of Prussia. I wanted to chase him and rip his heart out, but Aurora lay in the dirt. Blood was blooming fast across the black jacket she wore. I tried shifting back into my human form again but this time it worked, my heart hammering against my ribs.

"How did this happen?" I whispered, kneeling beside her, "is my powers fluctuating now?" I was completely naked, my clothes destroyed by the shift. She reached out with a trembling hand, handing me the black jacket to cover myself. Even in her pain, she was thinking of me.

Carlus appeared through the trees, breathless. "Sire, I lost them at the human border. I couldn't trespass—" He stopped, staring at us in horror. "Where are your clothes? What happened to the Luna?"

"I'm okay..." Aurora whispered, her face turning as white as paper.

"Keep quiet until I command you to speak, Aurora!" I barked. My fear was coming out as anger. I checked the wound at her waist. It was deep, and it wasn't healing. Even with her wolf awake, her body was too weak from years of neglect.

I held my hand out to Carlus. "Give me the dagger."

"But Alpha"

"The knife, Carlus! Now!"

He placed the blade in my palm. I didn't hesitate. I sliced a deep line into my own wrist, letting the dark, royal blood pool. I pressed my bleeding wound directly against hers, letting my life-force drip onto her skin.

A strange, golden smoke began to rise where our blood met. The wound on her waist closed instantly, the skin becoming smooth and perfect as if it had never been cut.

But as I pulled my hand away, I stared at my own wrist in disbelief. My wound was still wide

open. It was bleeding heavily, and for the firs
t time in my life, I wasn't healing.

"What is this?" I whispered, looking from my arm to my perfectly healed mate. "What have you done to me, Aurora?"
