\[Serenity’s POV\]
I keep my gaze locked on Maverick’s as I slowly begin to lower myself, allowing him to fill me bit by bit until he is swallowed whole. Remaining in place, I get used to having his fullness in me before I begin to move.
“Maverick,” I whisper, pressing my hands against his chest so I can dig my nails into his skin. “Oh, fuck Maverick.”
“That’s it,” he murmurs, running his hands to my ass so that he can begin to guide me. “That’s a good girl.”
Good girl. Goddess, I loved the way he called me a good girl. I loved the way he called my name passionately. I loved how his body felt against mine and how his dick felt in me. I loved all of it, but most of all I loved him, and even now, with our bodies moving together, our hearts beating rapidly, and our breath hitching from what we are doing, I don’t feel like this is enough to show him my feelings.
“I love you,” I whisper, quickening my thrusts. “I love you so damn much, Maverick.”
At my words, his eyes grow wide, and before I know what is happening, I’m being pulled against his body so that he can flip us and take the lead.
“Mav-maverick,” I gasp while he starts to slam into me. “What are you… oh!”
“Do you know how crazy you drive me?” He growls, slamming his mouth against mine so his taste mixed with blood from a busted lip erupts on my tongue. “When you act so fucking cute?”
“I have an idea,” I admit, wrapping my arms around his neck. “But I don’t mind hearing it from time to time.”
“When you look at me with those eyes,” he begins, sitting up and hooking my thighs over his arms so he can spread my legs widely, allowing him plenty of room to thrust hard and deep into me. “And when you say my name with those lips,” he continues as moans erupt from my lips. “Even when you lay like this in front of me with your cheeks flushed with passion and your eyes sparkling with desire, I just want to devour you.”
“It’s the same for me.” I tell him, loving the way he looks at me like I’m the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. “You drive me crazy too.”
“I’ll drive you crazy if that’s what you want,” he husks, leaning forward, bending me like a pretzel so his mouth can find mine again. “Anything you ask of me, Serenity,” he murmurs, biting my lip. “I’ll do it.”
“Then never leave me.” I whisper, voicing my most inner desire. “Stay by my side for all eternity.”
“As you wish.”
Finished speaking, our promise settling over us, we continue to move together, driving each other to madness, to beautiful euphoria, and then crashing down together.
Again and again, we do this until we’re both too exhausted to move anymore, and even then we simply lay together, me with my head on Maverick’s chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart while his large hands run along my hair.
“We should try to sleep.” I murmur, not wanting to waste even a second of my time with him sleeping. “We have to leave tomorrow.”
“We do,” Maverick agrees, rolling over so he can look into my eyes. “And before that, there’s something I want to ask you.”
“The answer is no.” I say, understanding completely what it is that he wants. “I’ve already made it clear that I’m not staying here while everyone else fights.”
“I haven’t even said anything.” He points out, but even I can hear the frustration in his voice. “But I would love it if you stayed here and let us handle things.”
“No,” I repeat, sitting up and glaring at him. “I’m not so weak that I can’t fight for myself, so there’s nothing you can say that will…”
The rest of my words get lost as a loud boom erupts from just below, shaking the building and causing me to jump up and rush to the window. When I reach I see a ball of fire streaking through the sky and before I can tell Maverick to get down, it crashes into the wall sending bricks and debris crashing toward me.
“Shit!” I hiss, covering my head with my arms to avoid any serious injuries. “We’re under attack.”
“Serenity!” Maverick calls, rushing toward me and helping me to my feet. “We need to go.”
“Yeah. I know.”
Not needing any more encouragement, I grab a t-shirt and throw it on while Maverick pulls on some pants, and then we’re moving out into the hall where the other members of New Moon are moving. And as we all head toward the bottom floor of the building, another fireball hits, causing the floor beneath our feet to begin to crack.
“SERENITY!” Maverick roars as the ground opens up and I’m falling through, crashing toward the ground below, where I have just enough time to roll out of the way before a chunk of the floor crushes me.
Coughing, I sit up and look around, taking in the scene around me and making sure that Maverick didn’t fall with me. Once I’m certain that he’s still fine, I jump up and rush toward the pack house's exit, where I find Uncle Jose and my father already standing.
“Serenity,” my father says, turning his gaze on mine. “Why are... fuck! Are you okay?”
I don’t get to respond before he is reaching out and brushing his fingers along my forehead, and when he pulls them away, I see blood there.
“It’s nothing.” I assure him, but he glares at me. “Don’t you know how dangerous it is for you to be bleeding like this?”
“That,” I begin, but stop as howls sound from the distance. “Now isn’t the time. Right now, we need to focus on fighting the enemy.”
I wait as my father opens and closes his mouth, clearly wanting to argue with me but unable to find anything to say.
“It’s fine.” I assure him, feeling the place I’m hurt healing already. “Really.”
“Clean the blood from your skin.” He orders, turning his attention forward. “And don’t you dare get yourself killed, do you hear me?”
“Loud and clear.”
How could I go and get myself killed when there was such a bright future waiting for me? There was no fucking way I would let this psycho who has been trying to take away my happiness since I was young win.
