Chapter 9 On the Balcony, Horrors Show pt2
He didn't answer me, still staring at the balcony.
With fear in my heart, my fingers trembling I grabbed his shoulder "Hey! Answer me man, you're scaring me"
He didn't answer.
He yanked me off him, launching me across the room and made for the balcony.
Before I could even regain my footing from where I landed I was yanked towards him crashing into a stool, shattering glass, injuring myself.
I laid on the floor of the balcony, gasping for air, blood pooling from me. The pain short circuiting my brain.
I turned to Kael. He stood there, unmoving staring into the open.
No emotion on his face.
But I could feel it, he was going to jump.
He is going to jump, he is going to run.
I can't let him go. I can't let Jamie die.
I can't lose my last hope
I jumped and latched onto him.
Holding him tight.
He struggled.
He scratched, he bit, he roared.
I held on, clenched my teeth.
I held on, I bleed, I shouted.
I held on.
I passed out.

___ POV
The sound of a woman's screams, wails and pleas sang in the background.
Two figures wearing white cloakes with red patterns kneeled in front of a man cloaked in red who is eating from a decorated corpse still trembling with life.
Sipping and slurping, the corners of his mouth stained red with blood.
Half his body corroded, healing at a slow pace as he ate.
He stopped and gracefully picked up a napkin beside him and wiped his mouth clean then asked "So?"
"Vhalir(Vah-LEER), hail" one of the figures started, their voice strained as they landed the first word.
They continued, "We almost had him"
"But?" The one they call Vhalir asked.
"Something stopped him, cutting the effect of the incantation. My sister and I almost lost our ability to speak due to the backlash"
"Excuses"
They trembled. They banged their heads on the bare floor hard and repeatedly.
They bleed yet they still kept banging their heads on the floor, the fear greater than the pain.
They did not stop as he stood up, nor did they as he moved past them.
"Fail me no more else it be your last"
Author's Note: Vhalir is a title that means master.
