Chapter 17: Vicious Woman

His words stunned even the guards, making them stop their advance.

“Don't listen to his rubbish. Throw this beggar out. Now!” Lisa shouted, her eyes red like a demented witch. How could she have known that her little attempt at having fun by insulting Alvin would result in her being humiliated? She was so angry that all she wanted was to skin him alive, crush his bones, and drink his blood.

“But madam…” The one who appears to be the leader said hesitantly, not wanting to get entangled in shit.

Lisa looked at them in anger, and noticed the reason for their hesitation.

“What are you waiting for? It can't be that you're intimidated by this trash. Throughout college days, he got through by picking trash and doing menial jobs. The clothes he's wearing were probably gotten from a goodwill bin. Because there's no way in hell this trash would be able to afford designers, even the knock off version, unless he's wearing someone's ‘hand me down’. Hurry up and kick him out unless you want to lose your jobs. I'm a VIP card holder in this place and you know the consequences of offending a VIP. We keep the business running by patronizing Top Taste frequently. Are you going to make me unhappy because of this thing? This worthless piece of trash—a disaster waiting to happen. Kick him out. Now!” She roared, her eyes blazing fury, her tone domineering.

The guards didn't wait for further instructions and moved towards Alvin who simply chuckled.

“I hope you guys have enough money saved up for medical fees.” He whispered coldly as the guards circled him.

Lisa laughed wickedly.

“That's exactly what I want to say to you. I hope you have enough spare bones at home. Break his legs for me.” She said and brought out a wrap of cash from her bag. “And this money would be yours.”

As if the money acted as a catalyst, the guards who were initially circling Alvin rushed forward, delivering blows. Leah gave out a loud cry of horror, and Alvin quickly pushed her, away from the fight.

“Big brother!” She shouted, steadying herself.

“New mission alert! Defeat the seven guards and blacklist Lisa from Top Taste.” The system suddenly announced, alongside the blaring of loud alarm in his head. The guards were obviously well trained, and were all black belt holders of Taekwondo or karate.

Alvin quickly blocked the punches and kicks flying around him while delivering some of his own. Luckily for him, the body points from the system strengthened his bones and flesh, making him not to be too disadvantaged. One of the guards landed at a nearby table after getting kicked by Alvin, making the customers seated further away to scream in shock. The expensive table broke into two and the guard collapsed beneath the wooden debris.

As Alvin fought them, he realized that he automatically learnt their battle techniques, utilizing and improving them at the spot.

The second unlucky person received a hard slap from Alvin, which sent him spiralling towards another guard who kicked him to the wall. He inadvertently blocked the kick aimed at Alvin's belly. He hit the wall with a huge thud and vomited blood, collapsing weakly to the floor.

Lisa walked to Leah who was shivering in the corner, watching the fight fearfully.

“So, you're that trash's sister? Hmph.”

“What are you trying to do?” Leah stammered, staring fearfully at the malicious Lisa.

Lisa smirked wickedly and grabbed her jaws.

“What do I want to do? Nothing much. Just punish you for your brother's loud mouth.” She whispered viciously and slapped her.

Leah screamed, and held her cheeks, her eyes wide with shock.

Alvin turned around the moment he heard Leah scream, only to see her holding her cheeks. Lisa smirked at him and slapped Leah again, making sure to maintain eye contact with him.

She had noticed that the guards were having a difficult time dealing with him, making her quickly move to Leah. It could be considered killing two birds with one stone. She could vent her anger on Alvin's sister, while distracting him.

Alvin scoffed and looked away, promptly returning his full attention to his fight. Leah needed to be self reliant. Otherwise, she would continue to botch up his missions in the future. Lisa must have underestimated Alvin’s mental fortitude—or overestimated Leah's importance to him. The mission and staying safe was obviously more important. Otherwise, he would be in hot soup, unable to protect his previous rewards.

Alvin grabbed the hand coming towards his face and twisted it, making the guard give out a sharp cry as he was simultaneously kicked away. The process repeated itself, sometimes the legs, other times the arm. His speed increased with every second he fought, like a machine on steady acceleration.

“It seems your brother doesn't care much about you.” Lisa whispered mockingly and delivered more slaps to Leah, who screamed and tried to defend herself.

She stomped hard on Leah's legs which were exposed through her high heeled sandals. Her pointed stilettos dug into Leah’s flesh, and she screamed out, feeling the pain down to her soul. Blood was flowing out of the wound but Lisa didn't stop, digging it even deeper. Leah struggled to push her away to no avail. She was significantly weaker than Lisa.

Alvin grabbed the last two guards and hit their heads together, making them collapse on the floor.

He quickly rushed to Lisa and dragged her off Leah, flinging her towards a wall.

“There's a flower vase right beside you, why didn't you break her head with it instead of letting her beat you up?” Alvin muttered through gritted teeth, wiping off the blood at the corner of Leah’s lips.

But he ended up making an even bigger mess. The blood from when he beat up the guards covered his fingers, creating a bigger smear.

Alvin turned to Lisa whom her boyfriend just helped up.

“How dare you hit my girlfriend?”

“You're bullying a little girl. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?” Lisa’s boyfriend and Alvin simultaneously shouted.

Before the quarrel could further escal

ate. A voice interrupted them.

“What's going on here?”
