Chapter 51 | Spicy noodles
Caroline had finished making herbal soup for Dexson and brought it to Dexson's room.
"Dexson, I made you some herbal soup. Can you eat by yourself?" Dexson, who was busy with his cell phone, immediately put his phone down after hearing Caroline's voice.
"What's wrong? You seemed surprised when I came in," said Caroline, looking at Dexson suspiciously.
"Nothing," replied Dexson with a slight smile.
Caroline didn't seem convinced, so she sat down next to Dexson.
"Can you eat by yourself?" Caroline smiled and gave Dexson a bowl of herbal soupared his throat softly. "Didn't you say I shouldn't move around too much?" Caroline looked at Dexson, wanting to eat her snack.
"Never mind, I have to take care of Dexson first," Caroline said to herself.
"Okay. I'll feed you," said Caroline as she stirred the soup.
Dexson smiled slightly, unnoticed by Caroline. Dexson also happily accepted Caroline's spoonful.
"Zeen will come to check on you this afternoon," said Caroline.
"If your wound has healed and looks good, Zeen will definitely remove your bandages," she continued.
"Okay. I understand," replied Dexson.
Caroline smiled because Dexson had finished all of her herbal soup.
"I didn't think you would like my herbal soup. You finished it all," said Caroline.
"Of course, your herbal soup is very delicious. I'm used to drinking it, but yours is much better," replied Dexson.
Dexson wasn't bragging; Caroline's herbal soup was tastier and more fragrant.
"Really?" asked Caroline, holding back a smile.
"I'm not lying," said Dexson with a serious expression.
"Really? But why did Damian say my soup wasn't tasty and scold me? He said this soup was like food for rats," grumbled Caroline.
"Even though I made this herbal soup using my grandmother's recipe," she continued.
"Damian probably doesn't take care of his health. That's why he thinks it tastes weird. Plus, he doesn't love you," replied Dexson.
"You're right!" Caroline grumbled with an annoyed expression.
"Don't think about Damian anymore," Dexson warned.
"I won't. I just happened to remember his bad attitude again," replied Caroline.
Caroline then left to put away her dirty bowl.
"It's time to eat spicy noodles. I haven't had them in a long time," said Caroline enthusiastically.
Caroline then went to the dining room to enjoy her meal.
Dexson was still waiting for Caroline to return to his room. But Caroline hadn't come yet.
"Does Caroline not want to come here anymore? What is she doing?" Dexson asked himself.
Dexson decided to leave his room.
"These spicy noodles are really delicious," said Caroline.
"So she's eating," Dexson muttered with a smile.
Dexson then approached Caroline. Seeing Caroline eating noodles like that made Dexson angry.
"Caroline, what are you doing? Why are you eating food like this?" said Dexson, surprising Caroline.
"Dexson! You scared me." Caroline turned to Dexson angrily.
"Caroline, this food is dangerous; you shouldn't eat it. You're even sweating like this," said Dexson as he wiped the sweat from Caroline's temples and neck.
"I don't eat it every day, but right now I really want to eat something spicy," replied Caroline.
"You can eat spicy food, but not that food," said Dexson.
"I can cook something much healthier for you," he continued.
"No, Dexson. I want to finish this," Caroline refused firmly.
"Your stomach will hurt later," said Dexson.
"My stomach won't hurt, Dexson. Don't worry," Caroline assured Dexson.
"Alright. Share it with me," Dexson ordered.
"Oh my gosh, Dexson, you can't eat this. You just got out of the hospital," Caroline replied.
Dexson sat down in front of Caroline. "If I can't eat it, you can't."
Caroline snorted in annoyance, even though she wanted to enjoy the noodles without anyone bothering her.
"I'm not forbidding you to eat, as long as you don't finish it all. If you finish it all, your stomach will hurt," said Dexson.
"Fine. I'll share it with you," grumbled Caroline with an annoyed expression.
"I'll get you a bowl," said Caroline.
"No need," refused Dexson.
Dexson then took the spicy noodles and placed them in the middle.
"Let's eat together," he said as he picked up a spoon.
"Don't eat too much, you just got back from the hospital," said Caroline.
Dexson ignored Caroline and immediately ate the noodles heartily.
"You must be feeling the heat," said Caroline with a laugh.
Caroline also ate the noodles.
"It's not me feeling the heat, it's you. Look, you're already sweating." Dexson took a tissue and wiped Caroline's sweat.
Caroline looked at Dexson, who seemed fine, not even sweating.
"How can you eat spicy food without sweating?" asked Caroline.
"For me, it's not spicy; it's just that this food is unhealthy. That's why I told you not to eat it," replied Dexson.
Caroline was stunned to hear Dexson's words. He said this noodle wasn't spicy? But this was the spiciest noodle that Caroline liked the most.
"Don't joke around, Dexson! This is definitely spicy," grumbled Caroline.
"That's for you. That's why I told you not to eat too much," replied Dexson casually.
Dexson then went back to eating the noodles.
"Dexson! Don't finish it all," growled Caroline, seeing Dexson eating with big spoonfuls.
"That's annoying! You're cheating." Caroline, who was annoyed, then hit Dexson's arm hard.
"But I only ate a little," she continued.
Dexson held his arm. "Caroline, you hit my injured arm." Dexson then pretended to wince in pain.
"Oh my God, Dexson. I really didn't mean to. I thought it wasn't your arm that was injured," said Caroline with a panicked expression.
"I'm sorry," she continued, touching Dexson's arm.
"It doesn't hurt. I'm just kidding. Besides, my right arm is injured," replied Dexson with a laugh.
"Dexson! How dare you lie to me?" shouted Caroline angrily as she hit Dexson's arm again.
Dexson laughed even harder when he saw Caroline getting more and more annoyed.
"How annoying. I'm going to make those spicy noodles again," said Caroline, intending to go to the kitchen.
But Dexson immediately pulled Caroline's hand, causing Caroline to fall into Dexson's lap.
"I won't let you suffer from stomach pain," said Dexson, hugging Caroline's waist tightly.
