Chapter 15
Albert didn't beat around the bush. With a hint of hesitation, he said, "Mr. Windsor, there's something we're puzzled about. Ms. Brown mentioned that you learned all your medical skills from her family's books... What's that about?"
Louis nodded slightly, keeping his tone calm. "She's right. I did learn a lot from her. But studying medicine isn't just about reading books; there are other opportunities too."
Albert frowned, not quite getting what Louis meant by "opportunities," but seeing Louis's confident expression, he felt an unexpected trust.
He hesitated for a moment, then finally sighed and waved his hand. "Mr. Windsor, since you're here, please treat Zara again."
Louis nodded but then made an unexpected request. "However, to maintain the treatment's effect, please have everyone leave the room. This procedure requires the removal of the upper garment, so it's best if no one else is present."
As soon as he said this, Zara's cheeks turned bright red, and her heartbeat quickened.
She had never been in such an awkward situation and didn't know how to respond.
Albert was also a bit embarrassed by the request, scratching his head, but Louis's expression was firm, like he wasn't making the request lightly.
"Well... Mr. Windsor, since you insist, we'll step out." Albert agreed.
For Zara's sake, Albert finally gave in, leading a few bodyguards and nurses out of the room and closing the door.
The room fell silent. Louis washed his hands thoroughly, his expression becoming more focused. His hands were filled with Natural Energy.
"Ms. Stone, shall we begin?" Louis smiled gently at her.
Zara nodded lightly, feeling a bit shy, but she mustered the courage to unbutton her top, exposing her shoulders and abdomen. Her skin looked particularly tender under the light.
She noticed Louis closing his eyes and couldn't help but ask, "Can you find the spot with your eyes closed?"
Louis smiled slightly and calmly replied, "I know your body's structure well. Even with my eyes closed, I can treat you accurately."
Zara blushed at his confidence, secretly admiring Louis.
It was so confident of him to stay so calm and composed.
Louis, undistracted, placed his hands on Zara's skin with precise technique.
As his hands massaged Zara's body from shallow to deep, a faint glow appeared in his palms. This was his unique Natural Energy, slowly being infused into Zara's body through the massage.
This Natural Energy not only enhanced the deep massage's effectiveness but also reached the affected area, stimulating the cells' self-repair.
Zara felt warm energy flowing inside her like a clear spring slowly flowing through her abdomen. The pain gradually disappeared, replaced by an indescribable sense of ease and comfort.
She couldn't help but close her eyes, feeling a long-lost comfort.
Meanwhile, Louis was already sweating profusely, his face showing signs of fatigue.
Infusing Natural Energy was his unique treatment method, but it consumed a lot of his energy, especially in such high-intensity treatments. He had almost exhausted his accumulated Natural Energy.
"Alright." He gently pulled his hands back, let out a long breath, and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
Zara slowly opened her eyes, surprised to find her body feeling lighter than ever. She tentatively touched her stomach, as if the pain that had plagued her for months had vanished. She could hardly believe it and softly asked, "Mr. Windsor... am I really cured?"
Louis nodded lightly, a tired yet warm smile on his face. "The condition's been suppressed, but you still need to focus on your recovery. I'll provide some supplements to help you out."
Just then, Albert pushed the door open, his eyes darting between Louis and Zara, filled with both doubt and hope.
He quickly walked up, asking with concern, "Zara, how do you feel?"
Zara, with rosy cheeks and feeling lighter than ever, smiled. "Albert, I feel completely better. No discomfort at all, and I even feel healthier than ever."
Albert was stunned by her complexion, his face lighting up with joy. He turned to Louis with admiration in his eyes.
He bowed deeply, sincerely saying, "Mr. Windsor, from now on, you are the savior of the Stone family."
Louis smiled calmly and waved his hand. "No need to be so formal. It's my duty as a doctor."
At that moment, Albert suddenly thought of something, a hint of worry in his eyes. "However, to confirm Zara's recovery, I'd like to invite Philip Mitchell, the director of Unity Medical Center in Sunshine City, to examine her. Mr. Windsor, what do you think?"
Louis nodded, understanding. "No problem, go ahead and arrange it."
An hour later, the renowned hospital director, Philip, arrived. He was a well-known figure in traditional medicine, with decades of experience and high skills. He had always been skeptical of the so-called "miraculous medical skills" rumored outside.
"Mr. Stone, are you saying Ms. Stone's late-stage stomach cancer was cured by a young man?" Philip asked with a hint of disbelief.
Albert nodded, his expression excited. "Yes, after Mr. Windsor performed his massage technique, Zara's condition improved significantly. Mr. Mitchell, please examine her yourself."
"In recent years, there have indeed been some quack doctors using so-called magical stones to deceive people, seriously damaging the reputation of doctors," Philip muttered.
Still skeptical, Philip walked into the room and began examining Zara.
As the data gradually appeared on the instruments, Philip's expression changed from initial indifference to seriousness, and his movements slowed down.
After the examination, Philip showed a look of shock and couldn't help but mutter, "How is this possible? Is this the body of a late-stage stomach cancer patient? Her organs are even healthier than those of an average healthy person!"
Seeing this, Albert couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Mitchell, how is her condition?"
Philip was stunned for a while, his face showing disbelief, and said in a deep voice, "As good as new. She's as healthy as a newborn baby. I must say. This is a medical miracle."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zara's face lit up with a happy smile, and Albert, even more excited, grabbed Louis's hand and repeatedly thanked him. "Mr. Windsor, thank you so much!"
Louis smiled slightly, raising his hand to gently press down Albert's hand. "It's my duty, no need to thank me."
But Philip, still unconvinced, stared at Louis suspiciously. "Mr. Windsor, if I may ask, how did you develop your medical skills?"
"It's just some massage techniques," Louis replied slowly.
"Young man, you should know that to cure such a severe condition, massage techniques, as a form of SPA, absolutely cannot achieve such treatment results." Philip frowned. Louis seemed to treat medicine very lightly, which greatly displeased Philip, who had dedicated his life to medical research.
He thought to himself, 'I'm a seventy-year-old man who has to be extremely cautious when treating cancer, and even then, I might not succeed. How can it be so effortless for this young man?'
Louis patiently explained, "The reason is simple. It's not an ordinary massage but a unique technique called Ethereal Balance Massage."
Hearing this, Philip frowned deeply as he looked at Louis. "Ethereal Balance Massage? Do you know what you just said? That is a legendary, long-lost massage technique, part of ancient shamanic practices. How could it still exist?"
Louis smiled lightly and said calmly, "Since it's long lost, why bother about it? It's just a trivial skill."
"Trivial skill?" Philip's voice suddenly rose, his expression as if he had seen a ghost. "Mr. Windsor, if this gets out, countless medical experts will dig the earth to find you! Ethereal Balance Massage is far from trivial; it's a true divine skill!"
Albert chimed in, "Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Windsor is not exaggerating. My sister's condition was cured because of his Ethereal Balance Massage. I witnessed it myself last time, and this time as well."
Philip's expression became complicated.
As an authority in the medical field, he knew Albert wouldn't lie.
But the more he believed it, the more shocked he was. The long-lost Ethereal Balance Massage was now in the hands of a young man?
"Mr. Windsor, may I ask who your mentor is? And which medical school did you graduate from?" Philip probed, trying to find some clues.
Louis remained calm, "Medical school? I didn't attend one."
"What? You didn't go to medical school?" Philip almost blurted out, "Then how did you learn such medical skills? Could it be..."
"Sorry," Louis interrupted, waving his hand, "We have a rule: divine skills must not be easily shared."
As soon as these words were spoken, Philip's reverence for Louis only deepened.
He knew that true masters often came from families with generations of medical heritage. Louis seemed to have an unfathomable background.
"I see!" Philip nodded, his attitude immediately shifting from scrutiny to respect. "Mr. Windsor, I apologize for my rudeness."
Zara couldn't help but chuckle, her gaze falling on Philip. "Mr. Mitchell, don't bother trying to find out Mr. Windsor's background. Even if you succeed, you might not understand."
"Zara!" Albert scolded softly, but Zara shrugged indifferently.
Philip smiled awkwardly and changed the subject, "Mr. Windsor, would you have time to visit my home? I have a granddaughter who has just started learning massage. It would be a great honor if she could receive your guidance."
Louis declined directly, his tone firm. "Sorry, I prefer to be alone."
"Mr. Mitchell, your intention is too obvious," Zara couldn't help but tease. "Do you really think Mr. Windsor is a fool? You just want to use your granddaughter to get closer to him."
Philip, embarrassed at being exposed, forced a smile. "Ms. Stone, you're joking. I simply admire Mr. Windsor's medical skills."
Albert intervened to smooth things over. "Alright, Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Windsor is tired today. Let him rest."
Louis nodded and left with Albert.
Philip stood there, his face full of regret.
A few nurses hurried over to report to Philip, "Mr. Mitchell, Ms. Stone has completely recovered. Can we return to the hospital for our regular duties?"
At this moment, Zara walked over and, hearing this, took out her checkbook from her bag. "Thank you for your care these days. Here's a hundred thousand dollars each as a token of my appreciation."
The nurses were overjoyed and repeatedly thanked her.
Philip sighed. "Ms. Stone, you truly have a kind heart."
Zara smiled faintly, looking at Louis's departing figure. "How can I compare to Mr. Windsor? Unfortunately, he's already married, and his wife works at your Unity Medical Center, Mr. Mitchell."
"What?" Philip was stunned. "Mr. Windsor's wife is a doctor at our hospital?"
"Yes, I believe her name is Anna." Zara's tone was casual, but her words had a significant impact on Philip.
"Ms. Stone, are you sure? Are you talking about Dr. Anna Brown from our Unity Medical Center?"
Zara nodded seriously. "Yes, that's her, from the General Internal Medicine department, right?"
Philip was even more puzzled.
He had considered many possibilities, but never Anna.
This was because Anna was rumored to be married to a man who lived off his wife, a good-for-nothing who was looked down upon by the entire family.
Philip's expression became incredibly complex. He couldn't reconcile the rumored good-for-nothing with the highly skilled Louis just now.
"Looks can be deceiving," he muttered to himself.
On the other side, Albert gratefully knelt before Louis. "Mr. Windsor, you saved my sister's life. The Stone family will always remember your kindness. If you ever need anything, just ask!"
Louis helped him up and said calmly, "It's my duty as a doctor to save a patient. No need for such formality. If fate allows, we will meet again."
After seeing Philip off, Zara walked over with a playful look. "Mr. Windsor, your medical skills have even impressed Mr. Mitchell. It's strange that your wife doesn't believe in you at all."
Louis smiled but said nothing.
Zara handed him a blank check. "Mr. Windsor, you can fill in any amount you think is appropriate."
"No need. Consider it a favor among acquaintances." Louis declined decisively. Then, he turned and left gracefully.
Zara watched his departing figure and couldn't help but tease, "He really is mysterious and unfathomable."
Albert suddenly said in a serious tone, "I think he would make a great brother-in-law."
"Albert! Are you crazy? He's already married!" Zara exclaimed.
"So what if he's married?" Albert's tone was firm. "A man like him is not only skilled in medicine but also extremely humble. Even Mr. Mitchell respects him. He might have even greater potential. Befriending him would be immensely beneficial for our family."
