Chapter 96 Untitled Chapter
“Seduce him or get him drunk!” Amy’s voice echoed in my mind as I sat in the back seat, heading towards the packhouse.
I wonder if that is a good idea. Hans and I love each other so much, so wouldn't it be better to let him make the first move?
I know I am in desperate need of him, and I can use any opportunity to have him pound me. But that doesn't mean I should act carelessly.
What if he is not ready yet? What if I make a fool out of myself?
The moment his soft hand tapped mine, I felt heat gushing down my lower body. “Are you alright?” And when he spoke, his voice traveled into my bloodstream like a cold breeze the morning after a night of heavy rain.
Hans has no idea what his touch and voice do to me whenever we are close. Perhaps it is because we haven't mated yet, or because…
“Amelia?” he called again, now placing his palm on my bare thigh. The moment his soft, cold palms touched my skin, I nearly lost my senses to him. “Do you remember your promise to me on the day that you would leave the pack?” he asked, mischievousness painted on his face like foundation.
Then he winked at me while I was trying to comprehend what it meant. “He is talking about the romantic moment. Don't you remember you guys were on the edge of mating that day?” Amy giggled, swaying her tail.
Of course, I remember, and I know what he is talking about. She didn't have to remind me of it.
“Are you still mad at me and wont let us have the…”
I lifted my hand, cutting him short as I was looking out of the car window, sniffing here and there. A mysterious scent had just hit my nostrils again, the kind I perceived in the packhouse on the day I returned.
“Demons!” Amy snarled, eyes flickering.
Yes, a demon scent. Again. And this time, it feels like it is very near because my body is responding to it.
“Stop the car!” I commanded, clenching my fists. “Now!”
The car screeched in the middle of the road, nearly causing the cars behind us to crash into our car.
“What is going on?” Hans asked, confused, trying to hold my hand. I pulled his hand away, opened the door, and got out of the car.
“They are very close, Amelia.”
Yes, they are. And this deep demonic scent shows it isn't an ordinary demon; it must be their leader or someone with a top rank in their realm.
I turned my head to the left, the right, the front, and the back, but the scent didn't seem to be coming from any direction. It lingered in the air, spreading across the pack.
“Hans? You have to leave here now. Go back to the packhouse and stay safe.”
“And you? What is going on?”
Even if I tell him, would he understand it? “It is here again; the demon is back. And this time, it is here for war.”
His eyes widened in shock. “Demon?” he gasped, then grabbed my wrist. “You cannot stay out here alone to fight a demon; you are going to the packhouse with me.”
Is he kidding me? If I leave like a coward, who would send the demon back to where it came from? Hans doesn't know what he is doing. I understand he is scared of losing me, but this isn't the time to activate that fear.
It isn't like I am going to die; I can't, and I won't. Only I can send the demon back to where it was sent from.
“Do not forget I can control all the creatures in this kingdom now, so just leave already and stop making things difficult. If that thing gets away this time, I won’t forgive you!” I snapped at him, pointing at the car like a mama commanding her pup.
“At this point, I cannot stop you. Well,” he sighed deeply, “good luck, Amelia. And be safe out here.”
Fortunately, he didn't argue again. He got inside the car, and the driver drove him away on my command.
Now to the demon. The scent was getting stronger, and the next second, it burst inside my nostrils, causing me to cough so hard. The scent was so heavy, like it came with a tornado.
“It came from the north.” Amy coughed, shaking her head to let out the scent from her nose.
The north? The packhouse is the only building in the north. Has the demon already gotten there?
“Holy shit!” I gasped, snapped my fingers, and flew away in the air. If that demon has already gotten into the packhouse, then there will be a huge loss today. They will kill all the omegas in the packhouse, and worse, Hans.
I cannot lose him now, not when we haven't even mated and marked.
“It’s that way.” Amy signalled to the apartment as soon as we arrived at the packhouse. Hans hasn't arrived yet, and no terrible scene was in sight.
However, when I opened the entrance door, the inside of the apartment was filled with the demon scent.
“Is it inside here?” I asked Amy, my eyes darting from the dining area to the stairs. “Yes, it is. And we must get them now before they hurt someone in here.”
Suddenly, a girl’s scream echoed inside the apartment, piercing the walls.
“Matilda!” Amy screamed,
My heart leaped, and I spun towards the stairs. As fast as my legs could carry me, I ran up the stairs, praying it hadn't done anything to Matilda.
“Help!!!” Matilda screamed, followed by a loud crash inside the room.
With a racing heart, I held the door handle and turned it, but it wouldn't move.
“It is locked inside.”
Yes, it was locked, but not with an ordinary lock. If it were Matilda who locked it, it would have burst open the moment I hit it with a huge fog.
“Help!!!”
“What to do now?” I asked Amy, hitting the door for the second time, “There is nothing we can do. Allow her to die!” she snapped arrogantly.
Was that Amy, or was I hearing voices that sounded like her? I couldn't believe she would say something as foolish as that.
“Are you nuts!”
“No, I am not. Allow the demon to kill her. Only then would you have an obstacle-free relationship.”
“Get out of my mind, you stupid wolf!” I shoved her to my back, blocked the connection between us, and stepped back.
“Moon goddess, help me!” I screamed, trying as much as I could not to cry. Matilda cannot die; that thing must not get her.
“Ahhhh!” she screamed, and a loud thud followed, as she had fallen on the floor. Then she went silent, and the noise inside the room ceased.
“Matilda, no!!!” The door cracked and shattered into pieces, revealing Matilda lying on a bloodstained floor.
