Chapter 31 Untitled Chapter
Was I dreaming? No, that can't be a dream! I literally did that. I was floating in the air yesterday, eyes flickering with lights, hands swashing out mists and…
“What did you do to me yesterday?” Hans' face was blank, and he didn't look happy.
Did I mess up his leg? Hell no! That can't be possible. I am sure I worked magic on him last night.
“What do you mean, Hans?” I got up, leaning my back on the bed frame, yawning.
He lifted his left leg, dropped it on the bed, and tapped his knee.
“This.”
That actually worked! He can even lift his leg! So, what on earth is he upset about? That I healed him?
“I told you I wasn't a lab rat. Why did you…”
“Oh, please, Hans,”
I scoffed, getting out of bed.
“Do you want me to transform you back to the way you were yesterday? You know I can do that.”
I snapped my fingers, and a ball of mist floated.
Hans gulped down, swerved his hands, and stepped away.
Seriously, a thank you wouldn't hurt.
As we drove to the company later, the streets were filled with the Pack members, cheering and laughing excitedly.
Their houses were now new, just as they were before the attack; not even a trace of smoke was left.
“Thank you, Moon Goddess!”
Chants broke out from the crowd, knees on the ground, and hands flying in the air.
They think the Moon Goddess did that? Bad news, it was I who did it.
Nevertheless, the jubilation can go on while it lasts.
“Don't you think we should inform them of who did it?” Amy asked between yawns and sassiness.
Yeah, sounds great, but not important. When the time comes, they will uncover the truth.
After all, this wouldn't be the first thing I would do in this pack. I have just realized I can do magic, and my leadership has just taken another turn.
“Alpha Amelia?”
General Lykon limped towards me with crutches, his left leg cast, and his head bandaged. I didn't know he developed that huge injury during the war.
“How are you feeling, General Lykon?”
He bowed to Hans before answering me.
“Alpha Amelia, Alpha Hans, I think there is something you need to know. The attack was well planned, and I got a report that Rowan and his rogues came into this pack by air.”
Uhn? By air? Meaning they came with an airplane? Landed in our airport and found their way inside the Pack?
“Are you sure about this, General Lykon?” Hans asked, getting up from the chair.
That definitely angered me. How could the airport defy my order and allow those rogues to enter my pack to attack my members?
“Alpha Amelia, I am sure the airport manager has a lot of explaining to do to you. I will send the warriors to go arrest him and bring him to my office.”
Of course, he must be arrested. And I will be the one to question him by myself. How dare he? Who said he could do whatever he wants, even after I had given the order? The plane from the Valtorium Pack can never land in our airports without his consent.
“Arrest him and lock him up in prison. I will be right there in a few minutes.”
As soon as he left, I sat down, held my head, and tried to calm my pounding heart. However, I tried, but I couldn't control myself. My heart felt like it would jump out of my throat. But the moment I felt Hans’ hands on my skin, my heart relaxed.
“Are you upset because of that idiot who doesn't know what he was doing? Come on, Mate, it isn't like we are going to let him get away with this. Instead of sitting here trying to control your anger, why don't we go there and pour it on him?” Hans' lips curled up in mischief, and yes, I understand what he means.
However, I'm not his mate yet, and I hate the way he calls me that, dude!
“When are you going to allow him to mark us, Amelia? I know you want that, and I want it too. Why don't you just give in already? You know how to seduce men; you even did that, and he agreed to marry you because your charm worked on him.”
She giggled and snapped her jaw, wagging her tail as if ready to flirt with Hans.
“Hey, girl, stop that nonsense!” I snapped at her, getting up from the chair.
“But I'm not lying. You even tried to seduce Hams one year ago because you wanted him to mark you as soon as possible so you could rule your pack.”
Was that even necessary? If Hans could hear her now, he would find out the embarrassing secret I have been trying to keep to myself for months now.
Dude! I regret that moment. How I wish I could turn back time and erase that stupid thing I did. Gosh! I wouldn't have forgiven myself if he got his way with me that day. Amy stopped me, and I am glad she did.
Although it has been long already, I still curse myself whenever I remember that.
“What are you guys talking about?” Hans interrupted me at the right time because I was about to burst into laughter over what Amy had just said.
“You and your wolf seem to enjoy time mind-linking each other whenever I am close to you. You guys aren't gossiping about me, right?”
Pfft. How is what Amy and I are discussing his business? I rolled my eyes at him, picked up my phone from the desk, and headed towards the door.
“Are you coming or not?”
He gently slid his hands inside his pocket, smiling at me seductively. That stare made me wet, and I swear, if he were standing closer to me and was holding my hands, there was no way I wouldn't have kissed his subtle lips.
The moment I was about to open the door, someone opened it outside, and the general came in. His eyes were bulging out, sweat was all over his face, and he looked so terrified, like something had just happened outside.
It scared me, and I hoped the rogues hadn't attacked again.
“Alpha Amelia?” he called in a shaky voice, closing the door.
“The manager has been murdered!”
