Omg! This is so bad.
How did Sabina get ahold of the documents? No, this can't be happening.
I quickly left my office, running towards Hans's office, praying I was dreaming and the secret between Hans and me wasn't revealed in reality. As I approached his office, he also came out, his face blank and eyes rolling in their sockets in confusion.
“Have you seen it?” he asked, showing me his phone.
“Yes, I just saw it circulating on the news. How did that happen? How did Sabrina get ahold of the document?” I asked him, dipping my fingers in my hair.
“I don't know, Amelia. What should we do now? This has gotten out of hand, and everyone is talking about it.”
Oh my goodness! What should we do?
“I have no idea, Hans. This has gotten out of hand, and no matter what we say now, nobody will believe us anymore.”
Sabrina has finally succeeded in pressing the huge button that will bring me down. Nobody in this pack would believe me again, and they won't want a pack leader who lied to them.
“Alpha Amelia?” The general came running towards us, waving his phone. “Have you seen what is circulating in the media? Is that true?” he asked, halting in front of us.
How could I tell him that was a life when the document was real? I was thrown in a pit of confusion, as I had no idea what we were to do. I never wanted a day such as that to come, and it finally came. If only I knew, I would have gotten rid of that document long ago when Hans and I fell in love... Now that we are truly in love with each other, nobody would believe us. They would think we are still pretending to be couples when we are not.
Oh my goodness! What have I gotten myself into?
“Amelia?” Hans called, shaking my shoulder. “You need to calm down and act naturally. Allow me to handle everything, and I won’t disappoint you.”
How was he going to handle everything? Everyone has already seen it. Would he go to the media and tell them the document was fake? It was absolutely a waste of time because none of them would believe him.
“I think you should just forget about this, Hans. I started it, and I would bring an end to it.”
Sabrina won't win; no, she can't. I won't allow that to happen. I already have Hans’s mate Mark on my body. I think it was enough to make them understand that we are real mates, not fake or contract mates anymore.
“What will you do, Amelia?” he asked, holding my hand.
“I will come out clean.”
I will explain to them what Hans did to me, which pushed me to plead with Hans to sign a marriage contract with me.
“After that, then I will tell them everything and how we have developed feelings for each other and that we are now real mates.”
“Are you sure they will believe you?” he asked, looking so worried. “I don't know if they would believe me, but I have to try my best.”
“Alpha Amelia?” the secretary called, hastening towards us. “The elders and the shareholders all called right now; they want to have an urgent meeting with you regarding the news circulating in the media.”
Snap! That was so fast and what I wanted.
“I will come with you,” Hans said, but I shook my head. “No, I want you to stay behind and handle everything while I go to the meeting.”
I didn't want them to disrespect and embarrass him there.
“Please let me handle it.”
After I succeeded in talking Hans out of following me, I left with the secretary, and she led me to the meeting hall where the shareholders and the elders were all waiting.
As I stepped inside the hall, none of them stood up from their chairs to show their respect as they have always done. However, I didn't mind because I already knew they were angry with me.
“Amelia, you disappointed us.” One of them shouted, getting up in fury.
“Why would you go to that length to make a fool out of us?”
“You could have come out clear that you only wanted the throne and were not ready to get married to anyone.”
I watched as they said everything that came to their mouths one after the other, but I didn't blame them. I called that upon myself. When the hall finally went silent, showing they had all run out of things to say, I took over.
“First, I would like to apologize to everyone of you. When Hams, whom I was supposed to get married to, betrayed me, I decided to go for Hans.”
“What are you talking about? How did Hams betray you?”
“Can you guys just keep quiet and allow me to talk?” I snapped, getting upset.
“It was you guys who pushed me to do it. You could have just allowed me to ascend the throne instead of forcing me to get married. Hams, whom you guys wanted me to marry because he was doing a lot of things for the pack, wasn't going to marry me for love; he had his own plan. He wanted to take over the pack and make me a slave when we get married. But I wouldn't allow that to happen, so when I found out his real intention, I was pushed to make a marriage proposal to Hans.”
“Yes, we got married based on a contract, but a few months after our marriage, we developed feelings for each other. and as you can see the mark on my neck,” I turned my neck to them, showing them my mate mark. “Hans marked me there because he is in love with me just the way I am in love with him. and to shock you all, I am now carrying Hans’s child.”
