Chapter 12 Stunned By Her Bravery

Chapter 12 Stunned By Her Bravery
HANS MORGAN

Seeing a white fur, pretty, and giant wolf, standing fiercely on Alpha Rowan, made my heart skip a beat.

I thought Amelia was attacked, and the intruder was now dealing with Alpha Rowan, until I saw the black line on the wolf’s left hand, the same mark on Amelia’s left hand.

I was stunned to see her wolf for the first time; it was so huge, pretty, and above all, brave.

“Hans, our mate!” Kael couldn't contain his excitement either, and he jumped around in my mind, wagging his tail.

My heart ached when everything went still and she broke down in tears. The tears that fell from her eyes felt like a dagger was stabbed into my chest.

Each tear that fell was like the nerves holding my heart were torn apart one after the other. I couldn't breathe normally, and my sternum ached from the heart pounding on my chest.

Hugging her so tightly eased my heart and made me relax knowing that she was in the right hands.

When we returned to the Packhouse later, she ordered the cook to prepare something good for me while she went inside the bathroom to shower.

Amelia is so friendly, unlike a few days ago, she isn't even distancing herself from me. I was even worried that what Hams said would come to pass, but it seems it won't happen.

Maybe Amelia has fallen in love with me,

“Amy is, I saw that in her eyes later.” Kael cut in.

If Amy is, I hope Amelia is in love with me, too. Well, I must put on my A-skills to win her heart completely.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

A subtle knock came on the door, interrupting my thought.

I went to the door, opened it, and my eyes fell on a maid. She quickly lowered her head and delivered the message.

“The Healer is here, Alpha Hans.”

A month has passed since my contract marriage to Amelia, and her love has only increased in my heart.

Amelia’s behavior sometimes depicts her affection towards me, but sometimes, she acts as if I don't exist.

She will give me the cold shoulder today, and tomorrow, she will laugh with me like it was her routine.

Anyway, I don't mind that because she and I are getting closer and closer each passing day.

Some days, like yesterday, we covered half the night chatting merrily under the bright full moon.

Whoever saw us then would tag us as the perfect couple ever.

“Hans?”

Her gentle, smooth voice came from the bathroom door. I turned towards the door, waiting for her next order.

“Can you hand over a neat towel to me? I mistakenly wet the towels in here.”

Oh, wow!

My face suddenly lit up, and a mischievous grin curved up my lips.

“What do you say we barge in there, Hans?” Kael said, wagging his tail.

Honestly, I want to do that too, but I am afraid of the outcome.

“This is our chance to see what our mate looks like, do not deprive me of a beautiful sight, Hans, or I will hate you for the rest of my life!”

Is that a threat or what? This wolf is seriously getting on my nerves.

How does he want me to cross the line when Amelia always warns me to stay out of anywhere she might be naked?

I ignored Kael, who was feeding me with words that would push me inside that bathroom, picked out a dry, neat towel, and strolled towards the toilet.

I took a deep breath, gently tapped it, and she opened the door slightly.

“Where is it?”

She extended her hand in the tiny space she had opened; however, the moment I stretched out my hand to give her the towel, I missed a step and stumbled forward.

“What on earth is this?”

She screamed, stepping away from me.

I didn't land on her, but landed on my face. Quickly, I tried getting up to leave, but the wet tiles were so slippery that I fell on my back again.

Amelia was standing above me, her hands covering her private parts. She seemed as though she had just seen a monster that would devour her.

“Get out!”

She pointed her trembling finger towards the door, but I couldn't move.

“I’m sorry,” I shut my eyes shamefully, but Kael snapped them open.

“Why will you block me from seeing what belongs to me? I will hurt you if you repeat that!” He threatened, growling in outrage.

Amelia gently slid down the wall, held her knees to her chest, and shut her eyes.

“Leave,” she muttered, her voice faint and subtle.

Seeing her that way, I realized her wolf must be taking control of her too, so I picked up the towel, which was now wet, and tossed it on her body.

“What was that!” When Kael growled, it hurt my ear so much that I had to cover it. Then he started jumping, stamping, and dipping his claws in my mind, sending enormous pain to my heart.

I'd wanted to control him, but Kael was too angry to let me. And when my heart thumped in pain, he took control of me, dragged me towards Amelia, and lifted her chin.

The moment my hand touched her face, she returned to her senses, tried sliding away from me, but I grabbed her back, locking her in between my arms.

“Get away from me, you perv!” she screamed, hitting my chest, but I didn't. Kael was controlling me.

I tried mind-linking Kael to let go of me, but he was so stubborn and kept shouting Mate, He wants to feel her and mark her.

She managed to stand on her feet, kicked my leg, and when I bent down to rub it, she ran towards the door, out of the bathroom, but I chased her.

When I got a hold of her, we both fell on the bed, hearts pounding so hard as we stared into each other’s eyes.

I stared down her lips, lowered my head, and claimed her lips in a passionate kiss.

At first, her eyes were so wide in shock, but she shut them and returned the kiss.
