Chapter 105 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 105 Untitled Chapter
Uhn?

“Unlike the other ladies with a mate I have seen, you are the only one without a mark, Alpha Amelia. Can you tell me the reason?”

Omg! This is tough.

Matilda has just put me in a tight spot.

How does she expect me to answer something like this to her? I cannot tell her anything about my fake marriage to Hans and that we haven't mated yet, even though we love each other.

She might tell someone, and then it will spread throughout the whole pack.

“Why do you want to know?” I scoffed at her, stepping out of the car.

“Because I am curious,” she said, her eyes fixed on me like an investigator questioning a criminal.

Just curious? This is so funny. Is Matilda taking advantage of my simplicity to act this way towards me? If that is the case, then perhaps I should start treating her the way Hans does.

“Why would you be curious about something such as this?” I scoffed at her, “Do not forget that this is my business with my mate.” Matilda shook her head, giggling. She sounded like she was trying to catch me red-handed.

“Do not misunderstand this, Alpha Amelia. I only want to know because I have been hearing a lot of beautiful things about Alpha's mate, Mark. They said their mark is unique and one of a kind. And I heard someone say if a person like me should set my eyes on an alpha mark, then my wish will be granted.”

Is she kidding me? That sounded like a lie, which I definitely know it is. There is no way the mark left by my mate will grant a wish. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. Matilda should come up with another reason to make me spit out whatever she wants me to say instead of lying.

“Can we just drop this conversation? We have a lot of things waiting for us inside the company to do. Perhaps when we are done with everything, then you can bring up the topic, and we will discuss it.” I said, forcing a smile at her,

But deep down in my heart, I know that is a lie.

I will never allow Matildaa to ask me any questions again regarding my mark.

However, Matilda wasn't satisfied with my decision. She looked so sad, like someone who was defeated in her own game.

With her expression, what I said didn't go well with Matilda. She wanted to protest when, suddenly, the general interrupted. He was sweating profusely like someone who had just finished running a marathon.

And his eyes were so red and filled with fear. He looked like he had witnessed a terrible thing and was lucky to have escaped from it.

“Alpha Amelia, there is a huge problem in this pack.” He said, wiping off the sweat on his forehead.

A problem? What kind of a problem could that be? Could it be another attack? No.

If there had been another attack, I would have perceived the demon scent or the rogue scent if it were them.

“Who dares to attack my pack again?” I asked, handing over the bag in my hand to Matilda.

“I don't know about that, Alpha Amelia, but you should come see it for yourself. Only you can figure out the kind of thing that attacks the pack.”

This is serious. Why are things just getting out of hand all of a sudden? Before I left this pack, everything was intact and normal, and everyone in this pack was happy except for the dark shadow sect members who were trying to poison their minds. But even with that, I managed to deal with them. And now that the dark shadows sect has been wiped out, I expected peace, harmony, and eternal cooperation in the pack.

“Matilda?” "I called," turning towards her. “I want you to stay in the office to take care of things while I go to the attack place with the general. I will be back in a while, okay?” Matilda nodded her head, fears visible on her face. She clutched her hands on the bag, sweating, and her hands were trembling. She is still scared of this demon of a thingy, and I don't blame her because she had a one-on-one encounter with the demon.

“Do not worry.” I placed my hand on her shoulder. “Nothing is going to happen to you. There are a lot of guards in this company who will keep an eye on you for me. I will cast a protection here to stop the demon from coming to this company. With that, everyone will be saved, including you.” Matilda nodded her head, sighing deeply.

“I wish you the best, Alpha Amelia. But please, you've got to be careful out there. The demon might be lingering around waiting for you to come out so they will attack you.” She was so worried.

No, they will never attack me because they are not here for me. Their target is to wipe out my pack members so that I will become a packless alpha. When that happens, the enemy pack will enslave me. However, that is never going to happen because I am not a weakling, and I will never be one.

I smiled at Matilda, reassuring her, letting her know that I am not afraid of anything. Then I stepped back, my eyes fixed on the company's building.

I clapped my palms together, snapped my fingers, and enveloped the whole place with a huge fog. The moment the fog withered away, a satisfied smile appeared on my face.

“Now, you guys have nothing to worry about. If the demons make the mistake of coming to this company, they will be blocked from assessing you guys.”

After I was sure that Matilda had gone inside the company, I left with General Lykon. On our way to the attack scene, General Lykon kept describing the horrible thing that had happened there earlier.

He kept saying something, but I still can't figure it out, even though I try to rack my brain to find a meaning to that. I couldn't, as it was so tough.

“You should try to consult the healer,” he suggested, wiping the sweat on his head.

Yes, absolutely yes. I will definitely consult the healer when I return from the scene of the attack.

However, there is another problem. The healer only spoke with Hans the day we visited. And up to now, none of them has uttered a word to me about what they talked about.

What if we return to the healer’s place and he repeats what he did two days ago? Hell no, I will pass this time. If healer Matt is the only one who could explain to me how to deal with these demons, then I will think of a way by myself.

After all, I am the alpha, and I am bound to protect my pack members no matter the circumstances.
