Chapter 65: Accelerating Revenge
Aria's POV
Lucien took me back to vampire territory and headed straight to this secluded villa. It looked empty, yet was luxuriously decorated.
I looked around and couldn't help but ask, "What's this place?"
"This is my secret spot. No one else has ever been here but you. Check out the room I set up for you, my beautiful princess." Lucien carried me up to the second floor, where there were just two rooms, one big and one small.
He took me to the door of the big room, and when he opened it, I was floored. The whole room looked just like my bedroom back at the manor, just like when I lived with the Frostbite Pack.
"I know you used to be a noble of the Frostbite Pack, and the room you just stayed in at the manor was exactly your old one. I figured you'd like it, so I set this one up the same way," Lucien said softly behind me.
I was truly touched, but I couldn't bring myself to show it. Noah had done sweet things for me before, but now he'd broken my heart.
I couldn't be sure if Lucien would turn out like Noah, hurting me one day. So, I had to keep my cool.
But I still had to act the part. I pretended to be surprised, covering my mouth. "Lucien, you're so thoughtful."
"You'll stay here for now. If there's anything you don't like, I'll fix it myself," Lucien said, making it clear this was just temporary. Then he added, "This place is super secluded, so no one will find you. Once I handle all the problems, I'll bring you to live openly in my palace."
"It doesn't matter where I live. As long as I'm with you, I'm happy," I said, not meaning a word of it, while secretly memorizing the view outside the window.
I'd been hurt by a guy before; I wasn't letting it happen again.
This villa seemed set up for me, but who knew if it wouldn't turn into a cage? I had to know everything about this place to make sure I could come and go as I pleased. And it wasn't just about my freedom; I was here for revenge, to speed it up. I couldn't afford to take my time anymore.
"By the way, how's that thing you promised me last time?" I asked Lucien as I sat down in the wheelchair.
Lucien looked at me reassuringly and said, "I've got a woman by Colton's side who fits all your conditions. As for those weapons..."
Lucien lifted me from the wheelchair and placed me on the bed. "We can move tonight. If everything goes right, Jason will find his weapons stolen by tomorrow morning, and all the evidence will point to Colton."
Jason hiding those weapons in a cave meant the other nobles didn't know about them. So, if Colton stole the weapons Jason secretly made, Jason wouldn't dare ask for them back directly but would definitely try to kill Colton ASAP to get them back. After all, according to Lucien, those weapons were a huge threat to vampires.
If Colton got his hands on those weapons, it would be a huge threat to Jason's position.
Plus, Colton had always looked down on Jason. If Jason tried anything against him, Colton would definitely hit back hard.
When they started fighting, it didn't matter who lost; it was a win for me either way since both of them were my enemies.
But simply having them fight wasn't satisfying; I wanted them to destroy each other. So, when Lucien stole that batch of weapons, I had to add a little something extra.
"Lucien, can you take me with you tonight? Don't worry, I won't slow you down." I grabbed Lucien's arm and gave it a little shake.
Lucien gently tapped my nose and nodded, "Sure, but since you can't move around much, I'll have to carry you."
Before we left, I looked at the bulky dress I was wearing and got frustrated.
Lucien opened the wardrobe, which was packed with clothes for all sorts of occasions. Every piece was my size.
I had to admit, Lucien was very thoughtful, but I wasn't going to let it get to me.
I quickly changed into clothes suitable for movement and followed Lucien and his hired werewolves to the hidden cave.
Just like Lucien said, every box of weapons had stuff specifically designed to take down vampires.
The werewolves Lucien hired were mercenaries who worked for whoever paid them and wouldn't spill any secrets.
Under Lucien's orders, the werewolves quickly moved the weapons and left traces at the scene.
As long as Jason investigated, he'd find all the evidence pointing to Colton.
The plan went smoothly, and it wasn't until the last box of weapons was moved that Lucien relaxed. "We can leave now."
I grabbed Lucien's hand, signaling him to stop. "Wait. You know my only goal in all this is to make Harper pay for Grace's death. So..."
I pulled out a piece of torn fabric with some bloodstains on it.
"What's this?" Lucien looked at the fabric, puzzled.
This piece of fabric was torn from Harper when I tackled her. Both the fabric and the bloodstains could be traced back to Harper.
Tomorrow, Jason would think that Colton had Harper lead people to steal the weapons.
Jason and Colton killed Emma, and Harper killed Grace. None of them could escape this show I had prepared for them.
The werewolves Lucien hired brought the weapons to the villa where I was staying temporarily.
After giving them a big reward, Lucien had the werewolves leave and then planned to check the number of weapons.
"Don't rush; the job's not done yet." I reminded Lucien as I watched the werewolves leave.
"You mean..." Lucien hesitated, looking at their backs.
I nodded. "There's only one way to ensure they keep this secret forever, but I can't stand the smell of blood."
"I'll handle it somewhere far away." Lucien nodded to me and quietly followed them.
These werewolves were killers and thieves, deserving to die. And over the years, they had taken money from many people and committed countless vile acts, making their end even more justified.
