Their faces changed after my yell. Elizabeth pointed to my nose and scolded me. "Who the hell are you talking about?"
Samuel rolled up his sleeves and walked toward me angrily, which showed that he wished he had hit me on the spot.
I, however, just sneered, "You two!"
"F*ck!" he shouted. "Jayden, Don't cross the line! Believe it or not, I can use my influence to make you not have the opportunity to be a security guard here."
Hearing those words, Emelia came up and said with a frown, "What?"
Elizabeth explained, "Emelia, last week, we came across your big brother here and he was applying for the security guard. Don't you know about it?"
Samuel sneered, "Since you look furious, I suppose you failed the interview. Is that true?"
Emelia took me aside and said seriously, "Jayden, is what they said true?"
I said with a wry smile, "I did meet them before. But I didn't come here to..."
She quickly interrupted me before I finished and said angrily, "Why the hell do you want to be a security guard?"
I knew she didn't really look down on security guards. Instead, she knew that my adopted father had recommended me a decent job, but I didn't want to do it although it was done in a state-owned enterprise and provided bountiful benefits. She had thought I wanted to get a much better job, but she didn't expect that I should come here to apply for the security guard.
I didn't know how to explain to her. If I directly said to her that I had come here to buy a villa, she might not believe me. Even if I showed her the evidence and she believed me, there would be no surprise for her on her birthday later on. So I couldn't ruin my original plan for my terrible temper.
As a result, I held back my anger and said patiently, "Emelia, what Elizabeth said was aimed at you. Let's go. We're not welcome here."
"Jayden!" She said seriously, "She's not that kind of person. I believe her."
This naive girl...
Alas.
I sighed deeply at the thought of that five years could dramatically change one's character.
Elizabeth just wanted to show all the classmates that the sky was the limit since she lived in a villa, while Emelia that they had chased lived a terrible life.
I didn't want Emelia to lose more face.
But seeing her believe Elizabeth so much, I had no choice but to change my mind.
Seeing I was silent, Emelia went back to Elizabeth and apologized to her. "Elizabeth, I'm sorry for my brother's rashness. I hope you don't mind."
Elizabeth glanced at me coldly. "It's nothing. I won't argue with him. Don't worry."
Emelia gave a relieved smile. "It's so nice of you."
Nonsense!
I had really wanted to scold Elizabeth. She was typically merciless. If she had been in Burma, with my hot temper, I would have thrown her and Samuel into a crocodile lake long ago.
Just when I regretted not doing that, I heard a roar of engine. It was the dreams of every men to buy a car whose engine had that vibration.
From the distance, I squinted at a white Lamborghini car coming. It soon stopped at the gate of the housing estate.
Seeing the car, Samuel hurriedly came up and opened the door as if he had been the owner's servant. He greeted him obsequiously, "Hector, I never expect you should come here!"
A personable youth in a suit was getting off the car slowly. He was extremely arrogant as he wore an evil smile. He played with the key on his hand as he said carelessly, "I've always heard villas here are good. I happen not to be busy today, so I'm here to check them out."
Samuel said with a smile, "My villa naturally doesn't compare with your courtyard."
Clans like Lam Family usually have courtyards and disdain to buy a villa.
I looked at the youth in front of me, feeling extremely afraid.
Hector Lam!
I never expect I should meet him here today. I wouldn't have come if I had known he would come here.
At that moment, he also noticed Emelia and me and cocked the corner of his mouth. He said with an interested smile, "Samuel, how could you invite lower class people to congratulate on your new home?"
Samuel naturally knew Hector was talking about Emelia and me and he said with embarrassed smile, "Hector, they are my classmates and badgered me to let them come here. I guess maybe they haven't seen such a luxurious villa for their whole life."
Hector glanced at Emelia thoughtfully. She immediately became so nervous that she hid behind me and pulled my clothes, with eyes full of fear.
I bravely stood in front of her, secretly praying that Hector wouldn't pick on me again.
Hector just ignored me and smiled coldly. Then, he turned around and walked in the villa.
I sighed with relief. Otherwise, I was afraid that I was gonna burst into anger.
Samuel strutted toward me and warned, "Jayden, that man is Hector who is the most awesome second-generation rich kid in D City. I can allow you in, but you must behave yourself. If you irritate him, you're gonna die!"
I shrugged and said carelessly, "In this case, I'm not gonna walk in." After I finished, I asked Emelia, "Emelia, you wanna walk in?"
She shook her head and said, "I feel a little unwell. We may as well go home."
Obviously, she also didn't want to see Hector.
But at that moment, Elizabeth was unhappy. She hurriedly grabbed at her arms and said sadly, "Emelia, how can you do that? It's a happy day today. Most of our former classmates have arrived, so have your former friends in your dorm. They managed to spare their time to meet. So you'd better stay and accompany me."
Emelia bit her lips and hesitated. Elizabeth said with a smile, "I've told them you will certainly come today. You don't want to let them down, do you?"
Speaking of which, Elizabeth linked arms with her and went into the villa. Emelia looked at me biting her lips. I didn't speak because I wanted her to make the decision herself.
I hoped that she could face the unknown. Thus she could really be confident.
The reason why she specially dressed nicely today was that she wanted to show to people that she was still the most beautiful girl, full of confidence.
These years, rumor had it in the senior high school chat group that people all thought she was inferior after the matter about Franklin.
She, however, wanted to take the opportunity to prove herself as a confident girl.
After a moment, she took a deep breath and smiled as if she had made a big decision and then she went into the villa with Elizabeth.
I gave a wry smile and followed her as if I had protected my girlfriend. But I thought, Elizabeth or the others should never push my buttons.
