Chapter 13

Rossalyn left the dining room escorted by a burly man that she didn't know. He didn't speak just quietly followed her from the room. It seemed he was assigned protection detail for the day. She wanted to ask him questions, but didn't want to get either of them in trouble so she remained as quiet toward him as he did her. She went spent a while going through the bottom floor opening up doors and peeking inside to see what the room held. She'd been given permission to explore the house so she didn't really see any reason to not take him up on the offer. She was living there, after all, why shouldn't she know what all was in the house?

There wasn't anything too interesting for her to see, though. There were several offices, one with televisions close together covering the entire wall. She paused at the door and looked around and seen a couple desks with big men sitting at them chatting. Conversation came to a stop when they looked up and seen her.

"What is this?" She asked them curiously as she gazed at the televisions and noticed that they held various views of the estate. One of them even showed the room she was in. She looked around and seen the camera in the corner of the room placed to view the whole room and the only door inside.

"This is the security office, ma'am." The man at the desk closest to her responded.

She looked at the cameras again and noticed that several of the bedrooms had cameras inside them and felt her heart drop. Were they able to view inside her bedroom while she was in there? Did she have any privacy?

"Does my bedroom have a camera inside it?" Her voice sounded strangled to her ears as her eyes darted from the screens to the man at the desk.

"You have a panic room hidden in your closet, as does Mr. Roja that has cameras inside them, but the bedroom, attached bathroom, and closet itself does not have cameras inside them. There is a camera on the balcony but if your curtains are closed we cannot see inside." The man assured her.

Well that seemed to explain the closet situation in her mind. She'd noticed, though not enough to really process that the closet seemed smaller than the allotted room for it. It would make sense if there was a hidden room sharing the space. She thanked them then exited the room closing the door back to continue her tour of the house. The next few doors were locked, for whatever reason, but she came across the door for the last room on the hall she was on and it opened up to a large library/game room. She stood at the entrance of the room shocked but very pleased. She knew she'd spend a lot of time in the room.

She went inside the room, her trusty guard standing at the doorway. She slowly made her way through the room checking everything out. There were a lot of books in the shelves of every genre from what she could see. There was a sitting area that had a large television along with every game system she knew of. There was a desk that had a desk top computer that looked more expensive than her yearly rent. There was even a pool table and arcade machine that offered a few choices of games to play. She wasn't sure what she thought about it all. The room was the last thing she'd expected to find in the house, though she certainly wouldn't complain.

She left the room to continue her tour before she got sucked into something there and dallied her free time away. She wasn't sure how long his meeting would take but she wanted to learn everything she could on the tour about the place she was to be living. She found the kitchen across from the dining room and the ladies in there all introduced themselves and asked if she needed anything. She declined politely and went on to find a guest bathroom that was larger than her bedroom in her apartment. Everything she had seen thusfar seemed to be large and fancy. Even the guest facilities. The man didn't scrimp on the details she thought to herself as she headed for the stairs and went up to the third floor. She already knew that the second floor held empty offices and guest bedrooms since she'd snooped through them already.

The third floor was where she assumed his living quarters were located. She found a few empty bedrooms, a home gym, and another bathroom. She tried the door to one of the rooms and found it locked.

"Thats Mr. Roja's office, ma'am. He's in a meeting." Her guard piped up immediately, fearing she'd interrupt his boss.

"I see, thank you. What do those double doors open up to?" She asked him, though she had a feeling she already knew.

"That is his bedroom." He answered calmly.

She looked back at him and then the bedroom. Curiousity burned her to see what his private quarters would look like. She knew she'd find out soon enough but she didn't want to get caught in his room, especially in a way that would imply she was sneaking around. As if she even could with her guard following her around. She stood hesitating for a moment too long and the office door opened and found Josiah staring down at her, a little surprised to see her but not seemingly unhappy to.

"Have you been enjoying your tour?" He asked pleasantly.

"Yes, is your meeting over?" She asked looking around him and seeing a few men standing behind him looking at her with interest.

"Yes I have just finished up. I was going to come find you and speak to you about what I'm planning for your brother." He told her then smiled, "Thank you for making the search easy for me."

"As if you couldn't call the goons in the security office and locate me in three seconds." She pointed out and rolled her eyes.

"Ah, you've found my bat cave, have you?" He teased her then stood aside and gestured for her to enter the office ahead of him.

"Yes, quite the bat cave you have too. Not an inch of the property hidden from your eyes." She said as she took her cue and went into the office. "What have you got planned for my brother?"

"Oh, I have a few plans for him. But I won't execute any of them without your input. Have a seat." He gestured to the loveseat then sat down next to her. "Give us some privacy please." His last command was to the men who had followed him inside, expecting to be included in their meeting. They all gazed at each other in surprise but obeyed and walked out of the office. "I'm afraid a couple of the options may be.....less desireable."
