Chapter 53: Chapter 0053

•TRISTAN•

"I don't want to talk about this anymore, Raven," I sighed when the door in my office opened, but when I lifted my head and saw Rumi, my heart almost stopped.

"You said she wouldn't be here by this time," she muttered as she walked in, her voice cutting.

"There's an explanation for that, Rumi, and—"

"Why is she here, Tristan?" She hissed. "You said you loved me and we would make this work, so don't tell me this is about her baby!"

"It is about the baby," I sighed, getting up from my chair. "I won't banish her while she's carrying my firstborn child."

"No, all I am hearing you say is that you want her to stay." She shook her head. "I haven't heard you consider the fact that she might not be carrying your child. You've said a lot of things, but you haven't told me that she could've cheated on you."

I scoffed as I walked around the table and leaned toward her. "Raven might be many things, but she could never cheat on me. She has been faithful to me for over five years. I won't question her about infidelity."

"Maybe you should."

I looked at her, and when I saw how unwavering she was, I swallowed.

"I will speak with—"

"She must leave this place if I am to be your Luna and wife, Tristan. You know there's no question about the paternity of her child. It's almost impossible for a human to become pregnant with a hybrid child."

"She's not entirely hu—"

"She lied to you," she answered, cutting me off again. "Her mother and father were from the human territories. Her mother died shortly after an illness. So tell me, if she were a hybrid as well, how did she end up here?"

I looked at her for a moment. Even though I knew the degree of falling in love with Raven's sister, I never really thought she hated her this much.

I then realized at that moment, that I wouldn't divorce Raven. She was my wife and was carrying my child. My legacy.

Even though she had made up her mind to get divorced from me, I wasn't going to allow it.

"It doesn't matter how she ended up here, but she's carrying my child and I won't send her away," I replied, returning to my chair. "I don't want to have this conversation again."

Her facial expression dropped and she scoffed, leaning closer. "What's that supposed to mean? Aren't you getting divorced from her again?"

"The baby changes everything." I didn't look at her as I sat down and opened my laptop. "Please close the door on your way out."

"You will divorce her if you want to be with me."

I didn't look up until the door closed behind her. I leaned back in my chair and sighed. I ran my hand through my hair and thought of a way out of the shithole I got myself into.

I believed for a long time that I would have a wonderful future with Rumi, but after hearing about the baby, everything I thought I knew, changed.

I looked at the laptop, thinking I would forget about Raven for a moment and the conversation I had with Rumi and work, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything.

I got up from the chair and went to find Raven in the guest room where she had moved into, and when I walked in and saw her coming out of the bathroom door, wearing nothing, my lips parted.

My throat immediately dried up.

Her breasts were full and perfectly round. I remembered how they felt in my hands when I squeezed them.

I could still remember how she used to pull me closer to her while I moved inside her, begging me to fuck her harder.

She used to come to my office sometimes when I was working, and not ask a question, but head straight to my chair and pull down my pants.

She was everything I had ever wanted and needed, but along the way, I felt as if I needed someone else, someone even more powerful than her, but seeing her again, growing our child in her belly, I scolded myself for almost hurting her.

She gasped and covered her breasts when she saw me. "What the hell are you doing here, Tristan?"

"I am here to see my wife," I answered as I closed the door behind me. "Is there a problem with that?"

She walked to the bed, grabbed a towel, and wrapped it around her body. She then folded her arms across her chest and glared at me.

"What do you want?"

"I want you to move back to our bedroom."

She chuckled and rolled her eyes. "That would happen in your dreams. You must think I'm a fool that I can move back into our bedroom after you've fucked my sister on the bed. She might as well move in as the Luna because I won't."

"Do you want me to apologize?" I leaned toward her. "I gave you a home when half the pack believed that you didn't belong here after Maddie died. I made you a Luna when your sisters looked down on you. You're standing here, being respected by several packs, and hosting business meetings by my side because I made that possible."

She looked at me for a moment and loosened her hands on her sides before walking toward me.

"Do you think you would've achieved anything if I weren't the Luna by your side?" She asked, and I frowned. "I secured the deal with the Mooncrest pack, and they would drop the deal once I leave this pack. You have trained and experienced warriors today because of me. Because I built the training school for them, and ensured they received the skills they needed to be the best amongst the packs. So, I played my part in the role you gave me."

My chest tightened and I wanted to say something, but she was right, and it infuriated me that she wanted to leave me because she thought I wouldn't be able to do anything without her.

But now I would show her just how much I could do without her.

I turned to the door and left.
