Chapter 78: Nina's point of view
I followed Jessica as soon as I saw her leaving after Kayden had left too. I felt bad for doubting my sister, but a part of me was curious to know what was going on with them.
When I came back, I entered on foot so I wouldn't alert anyone. Nothing really seemed suspicious at first when I saw the two of them arrive at home minutes before each other. I was already berating myself for being so suspicious about her and the things going on in the pack house.
I stayed outside for a bit, in case they were still out. Just so they wouldn't think I followed two of them back home. Or maybe Jessica would be the only one to think of that because Kayden had announced his departure and Jessica snuck off.
As I entered the pack house and stepped into the hallway, I saw Jessica entering Kayden's room which was weird. That jumpstarted my suspicions from earlier and I decided I would get to the root of it all.
Once she had entered, I walked towards the door and I heard someone shout. The room wasn't sound proof so I could hear them through the walls.
As I kept hearing their discussions, I was surprised at the turn it was taking. Jessica was accusing Kayden of something. I could hear Kayden's tone audibly, and he was definitely angry at her. I had thought it was something minor until I heard her claims of something they had both done together.
"Don't you remember?" She accused him.
"Remember what? Please get out of my room, Jessica and stop with your lying ways." He had retorted.
I immediately felt a pang of jealousy in me as I heard the accusations she threw at him. There's definitely no fire without smoke and for her to have accused him, something went on, but I couldn't guess what it was.
The drama was still going on between the two of them and I heard her break into tears.
" You don't remember how you touched and slept with me? You're a liar." She was sobbing.
At that point, I couldn't take it anymore and I barged into the room.
" What in the hell of the gods is going on with the two of you? "
I saw Kayden panic and stand up from his bed. Jessica was surprised at my entrance too. The plan was to catch them unannounced and it worked.
"It's not what you think it is, Nina." Kayden protested.
I started at Jessica and immediately felt betrayed by her. Someone I had taken to be my sister, but she managed to go behind me to try to date the alpha. I wanted to think it was a plan, but things didn't exactly pan out that way and if it was a plan, she didn't let me in on it at all.
"Jessica? What's going on here?" I directed my question at her. She had a lot of explaining to do.
