Chapter 90: Deceiving King Archer

While Juliet and Skeen were having the argument about Juliet's father, the man walked in.

''Dad!'' Juliet called out to her father meekly.

''She was about to ruin her chance. Her only chance to get the King back on her side was about to be ruined by her.'' Skeen caught in and reported Juliet to her father quickly.

''How?'' The countenance of Juliet's father dropped instantly because he had excitedly come to meet Juliet to tell him what King Archer wanted to tell her, but at the moment, Skeen already informed him that Juliet didn't play the game correctly.

''I heard her arguing with the King. In fact, I had to make a desperate move to make her stop so that she would not do anything extreme. In case King Archer asks you about your health, tell him that you are fine and simply had a heart attack that was quickly dealt with.'' Skeen looked at Juliet's father closely, hoping the man would get in formation.

''A heart attack , me? Since when? What the hell is going on?'' Juliet's father was confused.

Skeen nodded.

''When I heard Juliet fighting with King Archer the way she was, I had to barge into the King's study to get Juliet out of there with the excuse that you suddenly slumped.'' Skeen had narrated the way he interceeded and he felt proud of himself, hoping that Juliet's father would also appreciate him.

''You barged in on the King?'' Juliet's father's eyes shone as he looked at Skeen with shock.

Skeen smiled sheepishly and nodded.

''I told the King that you slumped and that Juliet needed to come and see you.'' Skeen laughed.

Juliet's father chuckled, and then he looked at Juliet.

''Why do you want to let me down, this girl?'' Juliet's father had understood how far Skeen went in a bid to make sure that she didn't spoil her relationship with King Archer, and he started to scold her.

''Father, he still thinks about that tramp whore. He still thinks about the rogue wolf, yet he wants me to be there for him. He wants my body, while he gives his heart to the rogue whore.'' Juliet complained.

''It does not matter who he wants, Juliet. Let him want who he wants while he has only you in front of him. Sooner or later, he will warm up to you since he can't have the rogue.'' Juliet's father looked at her with anger in his eyes.

''But...'' Juliet was close to tears.

''Dad, I deserve better.''

''Can you get better than King Archer? I mean, you, tell me yourself. Can you get better than the King?'' Juliet's father was furious.

''Queen Juliet, patience. What you need is patience. I heard you tell the King that the rogue had rejected him over and over. So, why are you still worried. If she has rejected him, it means that there is nothing the King would do that will make her accept him. Why don't you just play along so that eventually, the King would be yours again? When he sees that he can't get the rogue, he will come back to his senses and take you back.''

''And this time, you will have him wrapped around your finger.''

Skeen and Juliet's father scolded and advised her respectively.

''Exactly!'' Skeen wondered why Juliet didn't see it that way.

''Go back to him now and fall into his arms the way he wants you to. What do you mean by saying he wants to use your body? What has he been doing since? All the while that both of you were together before the rogue showed up, was he not using your body?'' Juliet's father was so upset, he had started to use Juliet.

''The man has never proposed marriage to you before, then you dare to say that he is using your body. He has been using your body since, Juliet, so go back to him to continue using it as that is the only way you are guaranteed access to him.'' Juliet's father walked out on her as soon as he finished saying those words.

As soon as Juliet's father left, the room became as quiet as a graveyard.

Even Skeen who was desperate to have Juliet return to be with King Archer, did not expect for her father to be so stand-offish the way he was with her. He didn't expect the man to go that far.

Juliet's heart sank to the bottom of her belly by the time her father had left the room completely.

''My Queen.'' Skeen felt bad for Juliet.

Juliet eyed Skeen.

''Can you see what you have caused? Did you see the way my father insulted me just because of how desperate both of you are? I am thinking that King Archer is using me, but in reality, it is you and my father that are using me to your benefit. You want to be close to royalty, right? Well, why don't you both work your way to the top and gain the favor of the king, why are you trying to use me as a pawn in your game?'' Juliet broke into tears as she scolded Skeen.

Skeen was speechless.

If he was not there to witness the way Juliet's father spoke to her, he would have maintained that Juliet's father could not have said something like that to her if he was told of it by a third party.

''My Queen...'' Skeen was about to try to console Juliet when King Archer suddenly walked in with Bernard and saw Juliet crying.

''How is he?'' King Archer asked with concern in his face, especially as he saw tears in Juliet's eyes. King Archer thought that Juliet was crying because of her father.

Skeen was already on the ground, bowing to the King as the King inquired from Juliet, and he ceased the opportunity to wink at Juliet to ensure that she uses the opportunity fervently.

''I thought I had lost him, Archer. But he soon recovered and has gone about his business as if nothing happened. I tried to make him stay back and rest, but he insisted that there was work to do, so he left. Please I beg you, relieve him for at least a week, so that he can rest and recover properly.'' Skeen smiled as he heard the heavy lie that Juliet told, and the expert acting that followed behind.
