Chapter 80
P.O.V. Lyall
I became desperate after seeing Ebon leave, but my body wouldn't respond to my commands.
“What time are you going to stand there? Go after her!” My father questioned me and although he didn't seem to be very comfortable with my union with Ebon, he encouraged me to go after the woman I love.
And it was the best thing I've ever done.
After hugging in silence, loving each other and talking, we finally understood each other.
Everything seemed fine. Our bond was broken, but we loved each other more than that.
“Are we going back? They must be worried about us.” Ebon said to me for the thousandth time and although I wanted to stay there, I complied with her request and got up to go.
“Damn it, Lyall! How am I supposed to go like this?” She showed me her blouse, which I tore off in an act of intense desire.
I approached her and held her breasts in my hands.
“I think we can go like this, what do you think?” I said laughing and received a slap from her.
It was good to be this relaxed with the woman of my life.
“Here, put my shirt on. It's big enough to cover all of you.” I said as I handed the garment to her, who looked at me curiously.
“And you're going like this? Showing off your chest for anyone to see?” She asked me.
“I'll put my jacket over it. Don't worry, what's yours will be kept just for you.”
We both laughed and went home.
As soon as my mother saw Ebon, she dragged her away from me and said that she had to get her a party dress, since in less than twenty-four hours it was Rebeca and John's wedding.
They were getting married in the morning and not in the evening, so I also had to help with the preparations.
I also had to take the time to let as many guests as I could know that the wedding wasn't going to be mine, but Rebeca's and her partner's, and I made sure that no one was surprised or made a scene when they found out that the groom was going to be a vampire.
The day passed so quickly that, with all the confusion, I didn't even have time to stop for dinner.
“I missed you,” I said in Ebon's ear, when I found her in her room, getting ready for bed.
“Have you eaten anything?” She asked as she hugged me and I said no, but told her she needn't worry.
“I'm glad to be by your side,” I said to Ebon, who smiled but put on a robe and dragged me into the kitchen.
“What do you like to eat? I've just discovered that I know very little about your personal tastes,” she asked me.
“I like fucking you,” she said mischievously as I kissed her, but she quickly pulled away, scared to death of being caught by someone.
“In the bedroom, my love, in the bedroom.” She said as she ran off, but hearing her call me like that only inflamed me even more.
“I don't think I can wait,” I kissed her lips again, which looked just as affected as mine.
“Please, Lyall,” she mumbled sentimentally and I let her go.
A few moments later my mother came into the kitchen and I thanked the universe that she hadn't caught me in a scene with Ebon.
For us werewolves, love and sex came naturally, but for Ebon it seemed to be quite taboo and I'm sure she was going to kill me afterwards.
“What are the lovebirds doing here at this hour? They should be in their room,” my mother said and I saw Ebon's pale face turn red.
“Mother, you'll kill my wife with shame,” I complained to the woman who had given birth to me and who was in a good mood.
“Lyall hasn't had dinner,” Ebon interrupted the conversation, as if to make it stop.
“Oh yes! I realized that and left a meal ready for you, since you hardly touched the food.”
“Why haven't you eaten? Are you having trouble getting used to our food? I can have something prepared that you like,” I said worriedly.
“The food is good, but I've been a bit unwell for the last few days. I think I've been too nervous, I've also come from a series of battles. Viktor and his allies have given me a lot of trouble.”
“Damn it, Ebon, are you sick?” I said, worried to death, and my mother looked at me seriously and said to Ebon.
“I have begotten and raised the most powerful being of recent times. He's strong, brave and intelligent, but sometimes he's so dumb...”
“What's that, Mom?” I asked in surprise.
“Ebon grew up without a family around, but not you. You've seen couples come together so many times, get married and...” she didn't need to say any more.
“But I should feel it, shouldn't I? Wasn't it like that with Dad and you?” I asked.
“I'm sorry, but what are you talking about? It seems like I'm just a bystander to something that involves my health,” Ebon said and then I stared at her.
“Honey, maybe you're carrying a baby, a child of our love.”
“Are you sure? I think it's just an indisposition. Tomorrow, after the wedding, I'll see a doctor. I don't feel pregnant,” she replied.
“Wouldn't you like to know that you could be carrying my child in your womb?” I asked worriedly.
“I'm terrified. I've always wanted a family, but I still don't feel worthy. Please, let's talk about it tomorrow.”
“Do it, my son. She needs time and she also needs to feel safe by your side. A lot has happened today.”
I took my mother's advice and after a quick bite to eat, I went back to the bedroom with my wife.
“I think we can get married next week, how about that?” I said to Ebon, who seemed to get more anxious than she already was.
“I don't want you to feel pressured because I'm pregnant, if I am,” she said a little worriedly.
“Girl, haven't I proved my love yet? I want you with children or without children, I don't care what it's going to be, all I need is for you to be by my side.”
We fell asleep in each other's arms, feeling each other's warmth, and the next morning we started preparing for the wedding.
Everything was beautiful for my dear Rebeca to marry the love of her life, which made me very happy, since John was a good friend that my time in the kingdom of Ebon had given me.
They were both overjoyed and when they finally said yes at the altar, I realized that a new era had begun for us in Valgerd.
Some time ago it was almost impossible to think of werewolves marrying vampires, in fact, we even considered a friendship or any approach, and now we were here, marrying our friends, while preparing us to also do the same way.
"I think it’s time for the present," Cassandra approached me and made me curious.
"What a gift?" I asked.
"Remember I said I would give you a gift after the bride and groom get married?" She spoke and I remembered her words.
"Did you know we would end up like this?"
"That was your destiny, but it was up to you alone to decide whether you would accept it or not."
"And where is this present?" I asked.
"Bring Ebon to the garden, your parents are waiting for you there, they will help me with what I have for you." She said and left, leaving a series of doubts in my head.
"Ebon, Cassandra wants to talk to us, can you follow me?" My wife greeted the friend who had just married and carried a huge smile.
"Sure, dear, any way you want." She said and we went hand in hand to the garden, where my parents were waiting for me next to Cassandra and by the way they were, something very serious was going to happen and I just hoped it wasn’t something bad.
