Chapter 10-1
~Emily~ "He loved you so much that he even named the private castle after you!" claimed Harry, sighing like a love-sick girl and placing his right hand on his forehead. The small castle where I stayed at for three days was actually called Castle de Anne; named after my middle name (Sertia Anne Albany). "Um... Okay?" I replied. He just stared at me. "You are very ungrateful," he said bluntly. "Well, I never asked for it. Did I?" He just shook his head, exasperated. "You have a lot to learn." "About what?" "Courtesy, respect, gratefulness and even your own damn past," he replied. I just rolled my eyes. I wondered what Prince Nathan would do to me once I reach the castle. Would he punish me? Lock me up? What about my family? Looking out of the dark windows, I pondered over my future. Would I be able to love Prince Nathan? I shook my head. Never. He hurt me too many times and it had only been three days. The damage he inflicted on me was too great to let go. He may be my soul mate but that didn't mean that I had to love him... And what about the kingdom? Harry claims that I have to look after it with Prince Nathan. I knew that I didn't have the audacity to rule a Kingdom. I was just a weak human. And also, I did not have any plans to marry Prince Nathan. He was cruel and arrogant, so of course there would be no chance for us to be lawfully together. "...world. Hello? Anybody home?" said Harry, pulling me out of my intense reverie. "What?" I snapped, glaring. "I was wondering whether you'd like some candy...?" he stated. Suddenly, my lips curved upwards and my eyes widened. Candy? That was my weak spot. "I'll take that as a...yes?" he said, grinning. I nodded vigorously. "Driver, take us to the Twirly Candy store," ordered Harry. I just smiled. "I love candy," I stated. "I know," he replied. After a few minutes, the car stopped and after the shopkeeper of the Twirly Candy store took our orders (I ordered chocolate buttons, jelly beans and sour candies), she left to bring us huge bags filled with sweet, juicy candy! I shrieked in excitement. But sadly, I couldn't put candy in my mouth by myself and I pouted. Seeing my wretched expression, Harry chuckled. "Looks like the tough girl needs some help?" he joked. I glared at him. "Well it's not my fault that I am hopeless," I replied. He looked slightly sympathetic but then he covered it up by acting like a little kid again. Opening my colourful bag filled with sweet, delicious goodies, he took out a chocolate button. It was surprising that the Twirly Candy store was still opened around nine o'clock in the evening. "Open wide," he was cooing. I grimaced at his awfully sweet tone. I opened my mouth reluctantly and he inserted the chocolate button in it. "You're welcome," he said. Then he fed me jelly beans and a sour candy which had a blueberry flavour; my favourite. I became hyper. "Harry..." I said, feeling the sugar rush. "Yes?" "You are now officially my new best friend in the whole wide world!" I exclaimed, giggling. "Yay! Does that mean I can go shopping with you at the mall?" he exclaimed, happy. "Sure! And we can get our nails done and we can wear dresses and we can even-" "Have our hair styled out!" completed Harry. Then there was a pause. "Um...Harry?" I said. Then there was a huge wail. "My hair!" he started to sob ferociously. "I will never get a chance to get my hair done with you." Then, I felt bad. "Harry, your hair is in a better place now..." I said. "I'm sorry that I cut it all off. I promise you that when your hair will grow out, I'll take you to the beauty parlour and we can get our hair done together, okay?" "Okay. But do you think my hair is in hair heaven?" asked Harry, sniffing and hopeful. I raised my eyebrows. That was an awkward question. Scratch that - Harry was totally insane and bizarre. "Uh...yes it is!" I averred. He stopped sniffing and started to smile. "That's wonderful to hear." He smiled. "Yes. Um...how long will it take to get back to the castle?" I asked, coming back to my senses. "In ten minutes. Prepare yourself, little girl. What you're going to see is not going to be filled with rainbows, unicorns and pixie dust," he warned. I shivered. "How bad?" I asked reluctantly. "You'll see." After about eight minutes, we finally reached the castle gates. My breathing rate increased and my hands became clammy. Harry placed his hand gently on my shoulder. "Calm down. Everything is going to be okay," he assured. I nodded. Then, the car stopped and the driver opened my car door. Harry helped me to come out of the car and, together, we walked to the massive door that was the entrance to the castle. It was quite a chilly night. Breathe in, breathe out. Entering the castle, I became appalled. Blood. Everywhere. There was a dead body situated right in front of the fancy staircase. It was a man wearing a uniform, covered in blood. Then, there was another body on the stairs, and the head was not attached. Blood was dripping off of the edges of the stairs. The smell of the blood and the sight of the gruesome, dead bodies made me feel faint. My vision was slightly becoming blurry. Harry placed his hand on my back and gently pushed me to walk further. I started to choke and I couldn't stop sobbing in pain, disgust and guilt. It was because of me that they were killed in the most brutal way. Harry escorted me to a room up the stairs that had a large, fancy door. It was carved in a sophisticated way and Harry stopped. "Shh... It's okay. Calm down," he whispered. I couldn't help it. I looked at him and he saw my pained expression. "Look, Nate is behind this door," he informed. "You have to talk to him and calm him down."
