Chapter 22 I will do it!

Chapter 22 I will do it!

Dahlia.

" I guess we will have to do this the hard way, Miss Green?" I whispered, before handing her a stack of papers.

Over and over, I had given her the chance to come clean, to tell me who she answered to, but she insisted on dismissing me, hiding their names, and the fact that behind my back, she was colluding with Jason and Sofia.

Yes. From the moment I learned about Jason's plan, I was sure he couldn't pull that off alone, unless someone from my side was working with him.

I had suspected many people, but to be sure, I had asked my soon-to-be husband to investigate them for me.

With his kind of connection and influence, of course, that kind of task was like child's play to him.

And as I expected, by the next day, I already had everything I had asked for, and more. And to my surprise, the details were meticulous, and thoroughly done, and my work was lessened by far. That's how amazing Dalton was.

I had asked him to help me investigate several people, actually and Miss Green happened to be one of them.

" What is this supposed to mean?" Miss Green's voice trembled as she asked.

" What do you think, Miss Green?" I asked, a meaningful glint cropping my eyes as I stared at her.

" Why do you have my personal information with you, Miss Dahlia?" She tried faking bravado as she asked, but the fear within her betrayed her.

" I thought you were a smart woman, Miss Green. " I exclaimed, genuine curiosity edging my voice.

I mean, she had worked as a wedding planner for years. That industry wasn't as simple as it looked. To have survived for that long, surely, she had to have something in her head, no?

Well, from the look of things, she knew what was happening and yet, she chose to act ignorant, perfect.

From the detailed report that Dalton sent me, Miss Green had a very close relationship with Sofia and her Mother.

They had actually known each other for years. There were pictures of them dated four to five years back. That being said, from the very beginning, Miss Green hadn't been on my side. She had just been sent by Sofia and her mother to spy on me, to keep an eye on me.

And yet, all those months, for the six months that I had been working with her, sharing my wedding vision with her, I had trusted her, believed in her professionalism, and in the moments when everything became overwhelming, I had even been vulnerable with her!

And yet, that was not the saddest part. All these months, she had walked the wedding preparation with me, detail by detail, day by day. I had shared my excitement with her. Confided in her about how excited I was to finally marry the man of my dreams, and she'd even congratulated me, whispered words about how lucky I was to finally marry my childhood sweetheart, and yet, all this time she knew that Jason was seeing Sofia.

All along, my wedding planner knew that I was planning the wedding for another person, and yet, she played along, watched me break my back for a wedding that was never going to be, listened as I whispered fantasies that were never going to be reality, and said nothing about it.

Watching me make a fool of myself for months must have been very entertaining, no? And yet, there was another photo, dated two days ago, the very day that she had bailed on me, stitching up an excuse around being busy while in reality, she was meeting with Sofia and Jason to devise more ways of ruining me further.

And yeah, thinking back, she was recommended to me by Jason. I had been thrilled to the moon, when he shared her contacts, happy that he was also contributing, even if just a contact, who knew I was falling into his scheme?

And now, as I sat there, looking at the woman who had deceived me for months, along with the rest, so much hatred burned through me that I felt like I was about to explode.

Well, since she loved drama, I hope she could remain tight-lipped when her turn came.

I already had all the incriminating information about her, information that would take ordinary investigators months to uncover, and yet, they had taken Dalton just hours.

And from the reports, she was just like Sofia and her mother. No wonder they were friends.

She had a son, who lived in the village with her mother, while she, Miss Green, worked in the city. But working? It would have been better if she had any work to show for it.

I was her second client in a year. Which means, most of her time was spent without any work.

And her first client? Well, that poor woman! She had trusted Miss Green, just like I had trusted her.

And on several occasions, the lady had introduced Miss Green to her fiancée, the man that she was getting married to.

Who knew that Miss Green would seduce her client's fiancée? They even had an affair, and on the wedding day itself, the shameless pair had done it in the fitting room, in the pretence of Miss Green helping the Groom with his preparations. Yes, it was all indicated in the report, and there were even pictures of their naked bodies tangled together. Disgusting!

And later, the groom had gone ahead and said his vows, promising the lady a forever, a happily ever after, while the scent of another woman clung to his entire body like a second skin. How horrible!

And even after the wedding, Miss Green had continued cheating with her client's husband, and after weeks, she became his kept woman.

And even more sadder was the fact that that client had taken Miss Green as her best friend, and every time her newlywed husband annoyed her, she'd run to Miss Green, ranting, crying and expressing her frustrations.

She had even complained to her about how she suspected that her husband was cheating, only for Miss Green to gaslight her into thinking that she was overthinking. And in reality, she was the one the woman's husband was cheating with.

To think that the woman treated her as her best friend, she'd not just confide in her, but she would also give her expensive gifts, designer bags and clothes, and she even went as far as gifting Miss Green a very expensive car on her birthday! I was so angry that you would mistake me for the victim.

Well, I was also a victim, but compared to that woman, I think I was less pitiful.

She had not just been robbed of a husband, she had lost a lot of money too, and let's not talk about the wasted emotions! How deceptive!

"Do you get off from causing others pain?" I asked, the rage in me hardly contained.

"Do you derive great pleasure in watching others suffer?" Upon getting no answer for my first question, I asked for the second time, and she looked away.

The loser didn't even have the courage to face me.

" Take a look at this." Saying that, I gave her my phone, and as she watched the recent recording, she trembled so much that the phone almost fell from her hands.

On the phone's screen, a young boy was walking leisurely, playing with his friends on his way home.

After getting the information on Miss Green, and then learning about her relationship with Sofia and her mother, of course, I had expected resistance from her.

So, I had instructed two of my guards who, were hired by my mom, and I knew I could absolutely trust, to drive to Miss Green's home in the countryside.

It wasn't very far actually, and by the time I was meeting with her, they had already gotten to the destination, and they had just sent a live video of Miss Green's son.

The kid was cute and innocent. It was just a pity that he had her for a mother.

" You don't have to be scared, Miss Green," I whispered, wearing a reassuring smile, and that only added to her fear. She even flinched when my fingers accidentally grazed her skin as I was taking my phone from her hands.

"There is nothing for you to be scared of," I added, with a gentle smile touching my lips.

" My men were within your neighbourhood, so, they decided to pay a visit to the school where your son studies," I explained, calmly.

Of course, she was not stupid. She knew where that conversation was heading. The thin beads of sweat on her forehead told as much, no?

" What do you want?" She finally asked, her eyes red, unshed tears glistening in them.

" Good question."

" I will have my men watching over your son and mother. "

" Don't worry, nothing will happen to them " I added,

" As long as you follow my instructions, and do what I tell you, they will be safe,"

" If you make a single mistake, " I paused, leaving the rest of my words hanging. I didn't even need to finish. She already knew what was at risk.

"Miss Dahlia!" She called, determination glossing over her eyes.

"I will do it,"
