Chapter 137: Omega Unbound

Elias POV

His hand around my wrist felt like iron. Not painful. Just impossible to break.

“Choose carefully,” Darius said softly.

My pulse pounded in my ears. Ronan stood a few feet away, chest heaving, blood on his lip, eyes locked on me like I was the only thing keeping him alive.

“Let him go,” Ronan said again, his voice rough but steady. “This is between us.”

Darius didn’t even look at him. “It has always been about him.”

His grip tightened slightly. Not enough to hurt. Enough to remind. Something inside me snapped. Not in fear. Not in panic. In clarity.

I stopped struggling.

Darius noticed immediately. “Good,” he murmured. “Acceptance is the first step.”

I let out a slow breath.

Then I smiled.

“Acceptance?” I said quietly. “You think this is me accepting you?”

For the first time, his brow creased slightly.

Behind him, Ronan stilled. I felt his attention sharpen like a blade.

I lifted my chin.

“I’m accepting myself.”

And then I let go. Not of his hand. Of my fear.

Power surged from deep inside my chest, hot and blinding. My pheromones didn’t leak out this time, they exploded. A violent wave tore through the air, thick and overwhelming, carrying every emotion I had buried for years.

Shame.

Anger.

Grief.

Strength.

The shockwave hit before Darius could react. His eyes widened a fraction as the force slammed into him. His grip loosened for just a second.

That was enough.

I twisted free.

The air around us shattered like glass. Alphas across the battlefield staggered or dropped entirely. Guards who had begun to recover fell back to their knees, choking on the sheer intensity of my scent.

Darius stepped back.

Not thrown. But forced. Interesting. He studied me like I was a new equation. I stood between him and Ronan now, chest rising and falling, power rolling off me in relentless waves.

For the first time in my life… I wasn’t holding anything back.

Ronan stared.

“Elias…” he breathed.

“I’m okay,” I said, though my voice shook with the magnitude of what I was releasing. “I’m… more than okay.”

The energy inside me felt terrifying. And exhilarating.

Every suppressed instinct I’d buried under years of injections and fear was awake now. My senses sharpened until I could hear every breath, every heartbeat on the field.

“I warned you,” I told Darius, my voice steadier than I felt. “I’m not your weapon.”

He flexed his hand once, like testing the air after my blast.

“No,” he said slowly. “You’re something else entirely.”

“Back off,” Ronan growled, stepping beside me.

The moment he reached me, everything shifted. Our pheromones collided, then aligned.

It wasn’t chaotic like before. It was… seamless. His Alpha presence wrapped around mine, not to control, not to dominate, but to stabilize. To support.

I sucked in a sharp breath.

“Ronan…” I whispered.

“I’ve got you,” he said quietly. “Always.”

Our shoulders brushed.

The connection between us snapped into place so suddenly it stole my breath. His strength flowed into me like a current. My power surged back in response, feeding into him. It felt less like two separate forces and more like one continuous circuit.

Darius watched with open interest now.

“Fascinating,” he murmured.

“Stop looking at him like that,” Ronan snapped.

“Like what?” Darius asked mildly. “Like he’s extraordinary? Because he is.”

I clenched my fists as another wave of pheromones rolled out, but this time I directed it, angled it away from Ronan, away from the few allies still standing.

Control.

I could control it.

“You wanted me to choose,” I said to Darius. “Here’s my choice.”

My power flared again, not wild but focused. The air around us warped under the pressure. Cracks spiderwebbed across the floor beneath my feet.

“I’m done hiding,” I continued. “Done suppressing. Done pretending I’m weak just to survive.”

Ronan’s voice came low beside me. “You were never weak.”

I glanced at him.

His eyes burned with something fierce and unwavering. Pride. Possession. Love.

It anchored me.

“I know that now,” I said softly.

Darius tilted his head slightly. “And what will you do with this revelation?”

I faced him fully.

“Protect what’s mine.”

The next wave I released wasn’t a blast. It was precision.

My pheromones shot forward in a concentrated pulse, aimed directly at Darius. The force hit like a physical strike. He braced, boots scraping against the cracked floor as the pressure slammed into him.

For the first time, he had to resist.

Interesting.

He exhaled slowly, Alpha dominance pushing back against my Omega force. The collision created a violent ripple that shook the entire chamber.

Ronan stepped forward with me.

Together.

His Alpha energy surged outward, not fighting mine but amplifying it. Stabilizing it. Our scents fused into something new, something stronger than either of us alone.

The air turned electric.

Darius’ eyes narrowed slightly. “A synchronized bond.”

“You didn’t think we’d face you alone, did you?” Ronan said coldly.

I felt his power pour into me, reinforcing my control. The overwhelming tide inside my chest steadied, sharpening into something deliberate.

We moved at the same time.

I unleashed another focused shockwave. Ronan followed with a surge of Alpha dominance that hit seconds later, the two forces layering perfectly. The combined impact struck Darius like a hammer.

He slid back several steps.

Not defeated.

But pushed.

Silence fell across the battlefield as everyone realized what had just happened.

Ronan let out a quiet, almost disbelieving laugh. “Did we just…”

“Yes,” I said, equally stunned. “We did.”

Our hands brushed unintentionally. The moment our fingers touched, power surged again, stronger than before. Not chaotic. Not overwhelming.

Balanced.

Darius straightened slowly.

There was no anger on his face.

Only calculation.

“You’ve surpassed projection,” he said calmly.

I swallowed. “Meaning?”

He studied me like a scientist observing a rare specimen. “Your mother’s work.”

My stomach dropped.

Ronan stiffened beside me. “Don’t talk about her.”

“Oh, but I must,” Darius replied lightly. “Because now I see it clearly.”

Cold dread crept up my spine.

“What are you talking about?” I demanded.

He stepped forward, not attacking, just observing. “I always wondered why her research disappeared. Why every record of her experimental trials vanished the night she died.”

My heart slammed painfully against my ribs.

“Stop,” I said quietly.

“She wasn’t just creating suppressants,” Darius continued, voice smooth. “She was enhancing compatibility. Pushing Omega potential beyond natural limits.”

Ronan’s hand tightened around mine. “He doesn’t know what he’s saying.”

But Darius’ gaze never left me.

“Those injections you took for years,” he said. “They weren’t simply holding you back. They were stabilizing something far more volatile.”

My breath hitched.

Memories flashed, my mother’s tired eyes, her gentle hands, the way she’d whisper apologies every time she gave me another suppressant.

This will protect you.

“Protect me from what?” I whispered.

Darius’ expression sharpened with realization.

“Not from the world,” he said quietly.

“From yourself.”

The air around me pulsed violently in response.

Ronan stepped closer, his shoulder pressing firmly against mine. “Elias, don’t listen…”

But Darius spoke again, voice low and certain.

“Your mother didn’t just create a powerful Omega,” he said. “She created something beyond Alpha or Omega entirely.”

Silence roared in my ears.

He looked at me like he’d finally solved a lifelong puzzle.

And then he said it.

“You are the result of her secret experiments.”
