Chapter 72 072
Alexander's POV
I didn't miss the subtle grind of her knees the moment I said those words, despite the gasp she used to mask it off. Heck, I smelled her arousal even before her thighs instinctively closed up but I loved evoking those darn emotions from her.
"How could you say that so bluntly without any filter? You're the Pack's role model, is this what you want your pack members to learn from you? The history you want to leave behind?" She asked seriously, but I couldn't help the grin that formed on my lips.
I could listen to her nag for hours and still listen to her so intently like my life and existence depended on it.
"Just hours ago, you had no problem when I fucked you raw, without any filter" I murmured close to her ear, before tilting her neck enough to inhale her intoxicating scent.
Her gasp came out as a funny shriek and I half-expected her to pull away from me but she remained there, baring her neck to me as my grip remained in her soft curls.
I moved my nose teasingly against her neck and I heard her heart pulsing hard. I didn't miss the little sharp intake of her breath too.
"How could you do that? I... I'm not on birth control" she exclaimed, her voice barely over the moan that clouded her breath.
"But you enjoyed every bit of it, little mate. I could get used to filling you up so good and fucking every resistance out of your system, raw, without a filter" I whispered the last few words and the moan she was trying hard to fight off slipped.
Soft, breathy. It sent a jolt through my groin.
"Stop trying to change the topic, Xander. I wasn't on birth control" she whined, shooting lasers at me the moment I loosened my grip on her hair.
I turned on the dryer and dried off her hair, strands by agonizing strands. Then I spoke.
"You have nothing to worry about, little mate. I won't get you pregnant without your permission. Not now at least. Your womb isn't ready to accommodate my seed" I told her and she blinked, relief and curiosity swimming in her eyes.
"How would you know whether or not I'm ready... To accommodate your seed?" She asked, her cheeks flushing pink.
"Your heat. Your body will be willing to take every inch of me, seeds included when you're in heat. And it doesn't matter if you want it or not, because your body does." I explained and she went silent for a beat but I could still hear the frantic beating of her heart.
"That's... intense" she finally blurted and I bit back a laugh, wondering just how hot she would look in her heat, tear-stained eyes, lips parting to let out those bewitching moans, her pussy dripping and begging to be filled even after having so many orgasms. I would love and breathe for the arrival of that day, and when it finally comes, I'm going to have a fucking good time watching her unravel beneath me over and over again.
"It is" I murmured in response, before shaking my head to dismiss the Hades' forbidden images that just flashed through my mind but the testimony of those darn images remained in the area between my thighs.
I just hope it goes fucking down before I'm done drying Danica's hair.
"So, tell me little mate, do you plan to go back home to spend the rest of your break?" I asked and her response sliced through the air, heavy yet sharp.
"No!" She blurted fast, too fast and my hands halted in her hair.
"Why? Something unpleasant happened while you were there?" I asked but she let out a short insincere chuckle before answering.
"Of course not. What unpleasant thing could possibly happen within a few hours? I haven't even spent the night there, you know?" She said but I knew something did happen. And I hoped she was going to tell me whatever it was without hiding anything.
But she didn't. And it was fine. May the heavens forbid that I'd try to forcefully claw my way into her heart for her trust. Slow and steady wins the race and I knew if she doesn't trust me enough to share everything including her vulnerabilities with me now, she will come to trust me enough for it when the time comes, and I've showed her that the part of her that I had come to love of over the past few weeks includes the part of her she saw as ‘embarrassing’, or a ‘weakness’.
"So you're staying here with me, then?" I asked and she hesitated before shrugging once.
"I guess?" She murmured.
"No visits to your best friend's house?" I asked, simply curious but she sighed.
"I can't. Her work season is fast approaching and I'll see her less than I ever have for the next few months. If I go there, I'd probably wait outside for hours until she's back or wait forever inside her house and let boredom kill me either way" she muttered and I nodded in understanding.
She was right about the work season. It was near and I'm sure a lot of people have more than one mess to clean up now thanks to the impromptu snowfall.
"You're free to stay then. Just be free, tell me when you need anything and enjoy your free days to the fullest because once it's off, there'll be no escape for you" I muttered.
"Yes boss!" She exclaimed amidst a giggle.
And then I was done drying her hair.
I switched off the drier and ran my hand through her hair one last time before standing from the bed.
But then I noticed a faint blue sparkle from her wrist and my gaze went to the bracelet around her wrist.
"Your bracelet... It's glowing again, but brighter than I've ever seen it glow" I muttered, and her gaze fell to her hand as well.
"I can't think of any good reason why it keeps glowing, no matter how hard I think... But I think it might have something to do with you" she said thoughtfully.
"Me? Why would you think so?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Well, because I never realized I was wearing a magical bracelet until I met you. Simply put, it has never for once glowed until... You." She muttered and I didn't know why it felt good to hear that, even though it made no sense. But it did feel good.
"This is just an assumption... Don't think too much of it, but I think it has something to do with reflecting your emotions or wellbeing" I pointed and a small frown settled in her expression.
"My emotions... And wellbeing? How so?" She asked.
"Because I noticed that the light dimmed remarkably while you were unconscious... At the brink of death. It kept flickering in an unstable way. When it got distracting, I tried to take it off your wrist but then it burned."
"I think it would make a lot of sense if the bracelet reacts according to your feelings, emotions and wellbeing. And it would be kinda cool too."
"Yeah?" She drawled absentmindedly, drowning into an abyss of hard thinking.
Then a knock came at the door.
Danica's eyes immediately met mine, in silent wonder as to if she should go get the door or not.
"I will get that" I told her simply then I strode to the door, knowing very well it was either one of two possible persons. Blake. Or Jasmine.
I haven't called for Jasmine after the dress, so it was most likely Blake.
I yanked the door open and truly, Blake was standing right there, eyes fixed on me like he was about to break a bad news.
"I have good news and bad news, which would you like to hear first?" He asked and I raised a brow at him.
"Good morning to you too, Blake. Let me hear the bad news first" I said with a controlled tone.
Whatever it was that he had to say, bad or not I would rather it stayed between just the two of us without involving Danica.
He got the hint and his voice lowered as well.
"Princess Rosette will be here in a few hours. And no, there's no way we can block her at this point because she already crossed the border." He muttered and I immediately felt my head throb painfully.
"What?!!"
"The good news is that Luna Lilith didn't come with her at the very least," he muttered with a sarcastic smile and I nodded, mirroring his smile.
"That's a good thing, I guess.”
