Chapter 52 052

Chapter 52 052
Danica's POV

"This isn't fair. I'm still injured" I whined for the twentieth.. or was it the thirtieth time? But this time I stretched my two hands at him, showing him my bandaged hands with a pout on my lips.

"You're going to be fine" He muttered again, pulling up the zipper in front of the tank top I changed into.

"How?!" I exclaimed and he cut me off with a strong pull at my waist.

One hand held me close to him and the other hand snaked up my chin, holding me in place as he muttered "like this" Then his lips found mine.

The kiss felt different. Hot but different nonetheless. It wasn't the usual knees-weakening kiss, it was one that sent relief through every inch of my body. I could clearly feel the dull ache in my hand disappear.

Like one of those kisses I remembered having while I was unconscious.

When he eventually stopped and detached our lips, I was breathing hard to catch my breath, my lids blinking severally without permission.

"What... What was that?" I asked amidst heavy breaths.

"That was me sharing my energy with you to heal you" he responded casually and I squinted my brows slightly.

"But... That isn't possible"

"It's possible if an Alpha does it to his mate" he added and I literally stopped breathing.

He didn't just say that... Did he?!!!

"What?!" I exclaimed with a genuinely awkward laugh.

"I mean, even if you're not my mate, I guess it's possible if I have feelings this big for you" He added and relief swimmed through my veins. Though not entirely but enough to keep me together before I officially lose my mind.

"Yeah, I guess..." I trailed off, trying to read through the expression in his face as he stared at me but it was impossible.

I had no idea what he was thinking or whether or not I'm just hiding from someone who's already in the same hideout with me.

"So that's it. You have no excuse to pass on this. We're doing that training or you fast for seven days without a drop of water until you decide to change your mind" he announced, giving me a choice and I didn't mind. Anything but the training! Especially not with him! He would break me in half before one session ends.

But the seven-day fast wouldn't. I've done worse. And I survived.

"I don't actually mind..." I muttered with a weird smile and he spun around sharply to face me.

He wasn't expecting me to agree so he was already leaving but then I just agreed to the unthinkable.

"Really? You're not the only one that'll be doing the fasting little Doc. Every worker in the clinic, every single maid that works in this palace, exempting the guards, because they need strength to uphold the walls of this palace. Every citizen in the Pack joins you as well, and then your best friend. Everyone except me, my Beta, and the officials would go on that seven-days marathon fasting with you. Now, pretty, would you still like to go with that choice?" He asked with a flat smile, like he hadn't just proclaimed a punishing fast on the innocent citizens just because I chose not to train for one day!

I shook my head automatically.

"That's what I thought" he murmured before turning to walk out.

"Your training starts with you getting to the training grounds before me! One loss earns you 10 demerit points which is equivalent to five additional days to your training" he announced and the words didn't click at first but when it did...

"What?!!! I don't even know where the training ground is located!" I yelled after him, practically running to catch up with his annoying long strides.

He did say tackle a cheat with a cheat, right?

Then a cheat for a cheat it is!

After successfully catching up with him, I stepped into his path, walking in front of him like an annoying pest but he couldn't step over me and he couldn't do much stepping aside either because I'm following in every step he took.

He stopped a few times to glare at me but he gave up when he realized he wasn't the only stubborn one here.

When the frustration finally went beyond him he stopped abruptly, and I slammed into his body when I tried to turn around.

"My apologies! Though it isn't even sincere" I muttered with a plain smile.

"What the hell are you doing?" He asked and I sighed dramatically.

"Beats me? You told me to get to a training ground I know nothing about before you, this is my way of surviving without the additional five days, so please don't waste my time here" I explained before turning to continue my walk.

I heard his amused scoff and then a full blown laughter. One that I pretended didn't affect me.

"Wow, that was... classic, little Ma...Doc" he muttered, catching himself in time to avoid saying something. 'Ma'am'? 'Madam'? 'Mademoiselle?' 'Mate?'.... Of course not. That was utterly ridiculous. We're clearly on the same page that we're no mate of one another. He definitely just came up with a new nickname and is afraid to try it out.

I tried convincing myself, but I wasn't convinced. I was feeling terribly anxious and it would have been a great help if I could see through that Stone locked expression of his! But I couldn't.

Eventually we got there and like I initially planned in that silly way of mine, I got there before him. The moment I saw the entrance from afar, I bolted into a full sprint until I was fully in. But I was starting to regret it the moment a bunch of men turned to face me. Their faces were stone cold and even their breaths felt like venom on my skin. So I turned back, in an attempt to leave but then I thought. 'What's a few glares of daggers compared to five more days of training with that unbreakable Alpha? If I'll die anyway while training with someone who'd snap me in two halves with just one hand, why not just die here while keeping my head up?'

So I turned to face them again with the usual charming smile that was always in my possession.

"Hi guys!" I drawled, waving childishly at them but they didn't even react with a blink of their left eyelid. None of them did.

"It's really nice to meet you, I'm...." I trailed off as my gaze landed on an awfully familiar Scarface.

Was it Killian?

The name Alexander called him that day?

"Killian?!" I exclaimed and his reaction gave me all the confirmation I needed that I just called him by his name.

But he didn't take it well. He all but scoffed. And I didn't particularly care.

"You even call me by my name now? Who do you think you are to...."

"Ahh, I see you preferred the golden nickname I gave you? Scarface it is then. Are we good now?" I interrupted his speech before he spoiled my mood with those degrading words.

Then I turned to face the other men with a brighter smile.

"Don't mind me, you can get on with whatever you were doing. I'll carry on with mine without being a nuisance" I assured them before walking towards another end of the field but I felt a strong grip on my arm.

I turned to find Killian towering over me, gripping my hand tightly and daring me to walk out with those taunting eyes.

For the first time since I woke up from the dead, the urge to use my fist was overwhelming. But my saving grace walked in before I could even think of it.

"Now, let go of her before I make you lose those hands, Killian. Don't make me repeat myself" the low authoritative voice muttered from the entrance and he immediately let go.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I didn't know she was here with you" He was quick to apologize but Alexander wasn't having it.

He just isn't good with apologies, is he?

"This is the second time, Killian. That I found you in a compromising position like this, trying to harass her. And I'm sparing you because of her right now. But if a third happens, you know what that means, right?" Alexander asked and Killian bowed in response.

"Yes Alpha. Thank you for your benevolence!" He muttered with a deeper bow.

"That's not right, Killian. Apologize to her and Thank her for being your saving grace" Alexander added, the warning in his tone unmistakable.

"I'm sorry for back then and now, Miss Danica. And thank you for being my saving grace" Killian said, his head hung low and I couldn't even tell what he was thinking or if he already hates me as much as Renee does.

Renee became nasty after she had to do this to a mere Omega like me.

I bet a strand of my hair that he'll be the same. Or maybe worse. He'll probably drag me out to an isolated corner and kill me off without anyone finding out.

"And YOU!!!" Alexander yelled, facing the other men.

"Get your fucking eyes off her before I dig them out, you motherfucking fowls!!!!”
