Felicia sat on Max's legs as she lovingly held his neck.

"You know, there's something I've been meaning to ask you," she said.

Max looked up to her and smiled.

"What is it?" he questioned.

"Well, it's about Mila," she said.

"What about her?"

"Well, I have this feeling she is hiding something from everyone," she accused.

"Really?" Max asked, trying to sound interested even though he wasn't.

"Yeah. Like there is just something about her that's odd," she reasoned.

"What makes you think so?" Max proved further.

"Well, if you haven't noticed, she seemed to have gained the favor of Adrian," Felicia hissed

"And that's the odd thing?" he asked.

"No. That's not it. I mean, he hasn't tried to find out who she is," she explained.

"And that's the odd thing?" he inquired.

"Well, he said at the dining room once that she's his," she stated.

Max sighed. "Don't tell me you're being jealous because of that,"

He had hoped Felicia was making sense of what she was saying. But her mentioning Adrian and Mila simply means she is jealous and is not over him.

"I am not jealous," she lied.

Max stared at her for a moment, thinking she was telling the truth, and nodded.

"Right...." he whispered.

Felicia playfully hit him and placed her lips gently on his.

"I am not jealous. I just think Mila is a bad person," she whined.

"Well, you have to state your reasons to me," Max spoke softly.

"Well, remember that incident with the nobleman?" she asked.

"Yeah. The one whose food was poisoned?" he asked, having no idea where she was going with this.

"Exactly. Who do you think poisoned the food?" she excitedly questioned.

"The maid, apparently," he replied, shrugging.

"Oh, silly you,'' she shook her head in a pitiful motion as if mocking him for his low intelligence.

"Where are you going with this?" Max queried

"The maid didn't poison the food. She was taking the blame for someone else," she spoke lazily.

"And you think the person she was taking the fall for was Mila," Max figured out

"Yes. That's what I'm trying to say," she cried out.

"Do you know how ridiculous you sound right now?" he questioned.

"You're not seeing things the way I do," Felicia moaned.

"So where did you hear that ridiculous idea from?" he asked.

"Heard? I didn't hear it. I saw it with my own eyes," she yelled.

"Right..."

"I'm serious,"

"I never said you weren't,"

"You sounded like someone who didn't believe me,"

"It was already proven that Mila is innocent. How could you have seen her spike the food?"

"I was going to get some water and I saw her,"

"Believable," he scoffed

"You don't believe me,"

"Of course I don't. Why would she spike a nobleman's food? What would she gain by doing so?" he asked.

"Well, I don't know for sure,"

"Why didn't you expose her then?" he questioned.

"Well, I wanted to, but she was too smart. She must have threatened the maid for her to cover up for such a crime," she said.

Mex observed her for a while. He didn't know if he should believe Felicia or not. But to him, Felicia wasn't a lady who'd want to tarnish someone's image just like that. And she said she didn't have any major crush on Adrian anymore. So there was no need to ruin Mila's image.

"Are you sure of what you're saying?" he asked.

"I'm certain. I'll find proof of I have to," she said.

"There'll be no need for that. The nobleman wasn't harmed," he reasoned.

"She wasn't trying to harm the nobleman," she chimed in.

"Then why?"

"She was trying to harm someone else. But I think the meal was served to the nobleman instead,"

"So who do you think she was trying to harm?" Max questioned.

"Well, for now, I don't know anyone who has wronged her at the table that day, but I'll find out one way or the other. She would harm someone else sooner or later since her first plan wasn't successful,"

Max nodded. Should he believe Mila was responsible for a crime like this? She wasn't the type to be aggressive. She hadn't caused a scene since she started staying in the pack. She had always tried to like her business and barely mingled with anyone. So what is happening? Why would Mila want to harm someone? Although people change, he doesn't quite understand anymore.

"Well, enough of Mila. How about we take this to the bed?" Felicia smirked, licking her tongue seductively.

"Certainly," Max obliged.

Mila's POV

I woke up to the ray of sunshine peeking through the window. I had my body pressed toward Adrian as he cuddled me. We had spent the previous night making love continuously. We hadn't made love like that before. Adrian would go just one room and that was all. But last night, he was like a beast that was trying to devour me. The pleasure I experienced was something out of cloud nine. Maybe it was because of the wine I had drunk, but my libido was as high as it could get. I moaned so loudly without control as he drove me from ecstasy to ecstasy.

I was feeling sore down there as I tried to move. I just decided to enjoy being wrapped in his strong arms. I wouldn't lie, I already fell in love with him, although I couldn't tell him that,

I watched as he slept peacefully without a care in the world. His thick brows were relaxed and well-carved. How eyes were closed but that didn't stop it from being beautiful. His pointed nose was so pointy. And oh, his lips. Who could get tired of those succulent lips? I recalled the way he had kissed me with so much passion. The pleasure his tongue had given me down there last night. I felt myself blushing at the memory.

"Had enough?" his sleepy voice resounded.
