Drew was pissed off more when he saw Trixie and the latter even called him while Lexus was there watching them.
He wanted to regret that he was not strong enough to resist the mate pull that he has for her, but it is too late to do that now. What he needs to do now is to clarify with Trixie that he has no intention of making her, his future Luna. He will not commit the same mistake of mating with her again.
With such in thoughts, Drew slept that night with a promise to himself to speak with Trixie, if not the next day, soonest that he will get hold of her.
The next day, Alpha Daedos was visited in his office by Daffodil.
She knocked on the door and only entered when she heard Alpha Daedos voice telling her to come in.
“Daffodil, have a seat. You seemed early with our appointment,” Alpha Daedos said while smiling after glancing at his wristwatch. Daffodil is earlier by fifteen minutes.
Daffodil smiled back. “Should I just leave first and just return on time, Alpha?” she asked as she also glanced at her wristwatch.
“No. It is fine with me, Daffodil. How are you and your stay in our packhouse?” Alpha Daedos said, a hint for Daffodil that the Alpha of the Mythical Silver Shadow Pack was trying to start the reason for this meeting between them.
Daffodil looked into the eyes of Alpha Daedos directly and was frank enough to say, “I am not actually fine, Alpha Daedos. No one has the right to curtail my freedom, nor to insist upon me, whom I should choose to be my lifetime partner. I am a free woman, Alpha.”
Alpha Daedos cleared his throat first before he was able to take a response to Daffodil. “I do understand what you feel right now, Daffodil. We do not want to rob you off with your freedom, nor force you to accept something that you would not want or like. Please let me explain why we are safekeeping you here. Yes, firstly, you are here for safekeeping purposes. You are not safe outside, Daffodil, and I know that you know that by this time. Secondly, like us, you are a werewolf too and not purely human. We have the so-called mates, our destined fate, as written by the Moon Goddess in her book of life. We just would like to know, who among our two strong men, claiming to be your mate is your real mate, because this will bring a great impact to our pack.”
“I can tell you right now, who is my real mate, Alpha Daedos,” Daffodil said in a firm voice. She did not even bat an eye when she said this and Alpha Daedos fell silent for a while.
Alpha Daedos, looked at Daffodil and nodded. “Go ahead, Daffodil. I wanted to hear it.”
“Alpha Daedos, my real mate is Beta Lexus,” Daffodil declared with a spark of pride in her eyes.
“How sure are you, Daffodil. You did not know the mate thing before when you were not yet aware that you are a werewolf and not purely human?” Alpha Daedos asked in a probing tone.
Daffodil smiled as she looked into the eyes of Alpha Daedos. “Alpha, I may not know that mate thing or mate pull for werewolves, but as a human, I know what love means.”
“I understand what you said Daffodil. Now, please tell me, did you feel that love, before Lexus marked and mated with you or after?”
“I will not let him mark me neither will I make love with him if I did not feel that love prior to such marking and mating.” Daffodil’s voice never faltered as she said all those words between her and Lexus.
Alpha Daedos nodded and made a deep breath.

When Daffodil went out of his office, Alpha Daedos, smiled. His guess was right. Daffodil just confirmed it. Lexus deserves the Golden She-wolf more than Drew, not only because they are true mates but because the love between them is evident.
“There is no need therefore for a contest or a duel between Lexus and Drew,” Alpha Daedos thought. He then decided to call for an urgent meeting the Council of Elders.
“Council, I know, you all are men of wisdom just like me. I spoke with the Golden She-Wolf and she admitted to me that Beta Lexus is her true mate. That it was Beta Lexus whom she fell in love with even prior to Beta Lexus' act of marking her and mating with her. Now, the problem is the same, Drew will not accept if we will readily decide that Beta Lexus deserves the Golden She-wolf. Drew even wanted a contest or a duel between him and Lexus and whoever wins shall mean the real mate of Daffodil,” Alpha Daedos said in a lengthy statement. He needs to lay down everything so that the Council of Elders could evaluate the matter.
Again, the Council of Elders has been divided into two factions. One-half of the council said that Daffodil’s claim that Beta Lexus is her real mate should be given due credence while half of them said, Drew is the next Alpha, he needs more the Golden She-Wolf, hence let his proposal for a contest or duel be done accordingly. In that way, Drew could prove, if he would win, that he is not only the rightful heir or next in line Alpha but more so, he is more rightful to be the mate of the Golden She-wolf.
So, to break the tie, Alpha Daedos should vote. However, he does not want to be biased, considering that Drew is his son. Hence, the Council of Elders decided to pick an equally wise man in the pack.
“Guard, summon Gamma Rador Serdon,” Alpha Daedos ordered one of the nearby guards in accordance with the decision of the Council of Elders. The majority of the Council’s members suggested Gamma Rador.
Alpha Daedos wanted to protest but he could not do so as he cannot let the council at this moment, learn that Trixie, the daughter of the Gamma is claiming Drew to be her mate and the two have mated already.
After a few minutes, the wise Gamma that they were waiting for, swung his head on the meeting room’s door.
“Come in Gamma Rador,” It was Alpha Daedos, who invited the newly arrived special guest in their meeting.
Gamma Rador nodded and he walked inside the meeting room. He bowed his head toward Alpha Daedos and then asked, “Why am I being summoned to come, my Alpha?”
“Gamma Rador, you will be the tiebreaker,” the head of the Council of Elders replied, without elaborating what to be voted on.
So, Alpha Daedos, explained the situation.
Gamma Rador chuckled and then said. “Why would I vote in agreement to Drew’s suggestion, if I know already to whom the Golden She-wolf rightfully belongs?”
“What do you mean, Gamma Rador?” the head of the council asked again.
“Drew has another mate, other than the Golden She-wolf, my daughter, Trixie," Gamma Rador said without even faltering and the Council of Elders were all in awe.
