“Daff, Sweetheart, come on wake up, wake up please,” Lexus said as he gently caress her and then patted her face, but Daffodil was not waking up yet. He looked nearer to her face and then moved his head down to her chest to listen to her heart's beating.
“Lexus, he might be just sleeping because of the effect of whatever Drew gave her." Alpha Daedos said as he saw also the glass of half juice on the side table. He then walked towards Drew, who was trying to move and get up. "Let me bring Drew to the Clinic first, Lexus," he added to which Lexus simply nodded as a reply.
"Drew, I will carry you, hold on." Alpha Daedos with the help of other pack members, carried Drew to their Pack's medical clinic.
With Drew's injuries, it will take at least two to three days, before all his injuries would totally heal and he will be back to his old self again like nothing had happened to his body. That's the goodness of being a werewolf. Their body has its own self-healing process so fast, compared to a pure human.
“Father, I am sorry,” Drew murmured when Alpha Daedos assisted him to lie on the clinic patient's bed.
“Don't talk yet, Drew. We will talk once you are in perfect condition again. Meantime, have a complete rest and let your body become fully healed from its injuries," Alpha Daedos said as he simply patted Drew's shoulder.
Watching his son, Drew sleeping, he could not fathom why he was such a weakling compared to Lexus. With his injuries, it seemed like, he was not even able to fight back against Lexus. His son as his only heir is supposed to have inherited all his Alpha qualities, but he should not see any of them to him. His intelligence, his strength, and even his ways could not be compared to him. Did he inherit everything from his Luna Mother? He thought. Yet, thinking back, he could remember that his Luna was a strong and intelligent woman. She has also an Alpha's blood since his father was the former Alpha of a neighboring pack. He shook his head, while his mind was drowned in deep thoughts.
All of a sudden, Alpha Daedos' mind reminisced way back in the past, when he saw his former beta then, the father of Lexus, inside the nursery room. He just arrived then from a business trade meeting in another pack and he left his Beta in their village to take care of two pregnant women; the Beta's wife and his Luna wife. Knowing that her wife had just given birth, he immediately approached the infant lying crib, bearing the tag name, "The Alpha's son" and excitedly carried his son.
He remembered further that his Beta was once, almost the boyfriend of his Luna when she was not yet reaching her age of eighteen and did not know yet that her mate is not his beta but he, the Alpha's son, who would soon be inheriting the Alpha's throne.
He could see the closeness of his Luna and his Beta before although he did not want to taint his dead Luna's integrity, he could not help but to think, what if something happened between his Luna and his Beta without his knowledge since from time to time at that time, he was away to take care of some of his Alpha's duties? But as an Alpha, he could easily feel if someone else touched his Luna, which he did not during the lifetime of his wife. Maybe they sought the help of a witch to do it, without me noticing it? What if he was not the father of Drew but his Beta? Ahhh, he does not want to think about it, but his mind was racing, yet his heart could not accept that his Luna wife cheated on him.

Lexus did not leave Daffodil inside the guest room, even when their Pack's carpenter, repaired the door that he banged and destroyed eventually. He looked at her tenderly and from time to time, he would check her breathing if it was in normal condition or not. Daffodil luckily was breathing normally. She was just sleeping as an effect of the sleeping pills that Drew put on her fruit juice drink.
He laid his body beside Daffodil and embraced her lovingly. He kissed her head and murmured to her, even if he knew very well that she will not hear him.
"I love you so much, Daffodil; whatever happens, I will never give you up to Drew. I know now how it would feel if someone would claim and touch you. I cannot take it, the pain will kill me," he murmured to her as he embraced her lovingly.
Unknowingly, out of fatigue, anger and most probably stress and worries; Lexus fell asleep too.
It was Daffodil who woke up first. She furrowed, seeing Lexus beside her, and suddenly remembered what happened before she fell asleep after drinking the fruit juice brought to her by Drew. “Does it mean, Lexus came before Drew could do something evil to her?” she thought while trying to sense and to feel if something happened to her body while she was asleep. She became confused. She looked at Lexus and pity suddenly caressed her heart, noticing the haggardness on Lexus' face.
She caressed his face and moved slowly her head down and then gently kissed his lips.
As if dreaming, Lexus even moaned but to Daffodil's surprise, she suddenly felt his hands grab her waist and pulled her body down on top of him.
“You were stealing a kiss from your prince, while he was sleeping?” Lexus said, smiling and teasing her.
Unable to control herself and instead of replying to him, Daffodil cupped his face and kissed him hard. He came to save her and he is entitled to a sweet reward from her for being her hero again.
