Chapter 41 Ryder keep raging
The weight of her choice, whether to face him or back off, weighed in the air. Her eyes, which were typically warm, suddenly glowed with intense determination. She had always thought of Ryder as the man who fought for what was right and fair. But what now? He was a whole different person now. "Why are you doing this?" Her voice was firm, but Ryder could hear the stress and dread that she was trying to hide. "You don't have to resist this, Ryder." I believe you can fight it. Ryder's mouth curled into a harsh, jagged grin. "Fight it?" he said again, his voice a hoarse growl.
"You think I haven't tried? Sienna, you can't just "fight" this. It's inside of me, tugging me from the inside out. You can't even begin to fathom how it feels. "The curse is real, and it intends to kill everything I love." His hands crackled with dark energy, and the air around him was so full of power that it felt like the walls were closing in.
"You can't help me, Sienna. It's too late for you. "I don't want to save anymore." Sienna stepped closer again, her face stiffening and her eyes never leaving his. "I'm not going to stop trying, Ryder. I don't care what this curse has done to you. I know who you were. And I really think he's still in there. Ryder's eyes furrowed, and for a moment, he seemed to hesitate. A short time of clarity in the middle of the pandemonium. She was right: there was still a part of him that struggled and remembered who he was before the curse took hold. But that aspect was so minor and unimportant compared to the huge amount of darkness that was now inside him.
"Why do you keep doing this stupid thing?" Ryder said, his voice a mix of wrath and amazement. "There's no way you can bring me back, Sienna. This is all that's left of me. "I don't care how many times you push me away," she said, her voice steady. "I won't stop until I've saved you." No matter what it takes. His hands shook, and a wave of energy went through his body. The curse came to life inside him, wanting to break free and destroy. Ryder could feel the anger rising again, and the darkness was about to swallow him whole. He clinched his fists and tried to contain the surge of strength, but it was like trying to fight back a tidal wave with bare hands. "You don't get it," Ryder said between gritted teeth. The curse made his head spin.
"This isn't just something inside me; it's a part of me now. There's no turning back if I let it out or give in. "Everything I touch will be destroyed." Sienna's eyes softened, but her voice stayed hard. "I'll help you battle it," Ryder and I. I won't let you hurt yourself. I won't let the curse win. There was silence for a minute. The weight of her words made Ryder's breathing slow down. It was almost if he could feel the last bits of his humanity stirring inside him, reaching out to the woman in front of him. But then he felt something new, something cold, strong, and never-ending. The curse was no longer just a whisper in his head. It was a furious flood that tore through every part of him.
His body shook with the might of it, and he staggered back, his eyes wide with fear. He yelled, "No!" "I can't... I can't hold it back any longer!" The electricity surged again, and this time it was even more violent. As the curse took complete grip, his body started to twist and change shape. His skin broke, revealing green veins that glowed, and his eyes burned with a strange fire. There was nothing he could do to stop the change that had already occurred. Sienna's voice broke through the chaos.
"Ryder! You can handle this! "You can do it!" Ryder could hardly hear her, though. As the darkness took control, the world around him started to fade. His vision got darker around the edges, and a loud scream filled his ears, as if the curse itself was calling out to him to let go. His chest rose and fell as the change took full impact. His muscles grew and strained, tearing at the seams. His hands twisted, and claws grew where his fingers used to be. He could feel the beast inside him trying to get out. The dungeon rocked as the power inside him grew. Sienna felt a shudder down her spine when Ryder's roar resonated through the stone walls. It was a sound so basic that it made her feel like she was going to die. It was the wail of a man who was about to lose all and give in to the darkness that had taken hold of his spirit.
Sienna came forward again, and her voice sliced through the tempest of anger. "Ryder, pay attention to me! You are still you! "Fight it!" But he couldn't hear what she said. The curse had possessed him, body and spirit, and it was only a matter of time before it showed how powerful it really was. Ryder's gaze darted to her, frantic and unfocused. He could barely see her through the curse's veil, but one thing was clear: if he didn't do something soon, Sienna would be caught up in the destruction that was about to happen.
"Get back, Sienna!" he yelled, his voice full of raw, primal desperation. "I won't be accountable for what occurs next!" Sienna wouldn't back down, even though she was shaking. She realized this was her last chance. "I won't abandon you, Ryder." I'm not scared of who you've become. You're still my Ryder. The words hit him like a flash of lightning. His Ryder. The thought made something inside him stir, a small spark of hope that fought against the crushing darkness. Ryder's body stopped moving for a brief, heart-stopping moment.
The curse seemed to hesitate, as if it was thinking about what she had said. But then, all of a sudden, the power spike was too much. Ryder's spine bent back hard, and his claws flew out, making a screaming sound as they scraped across the stone floor. His whole body was vibrating with a horrible energy, as if it were about to fall apart. Sienna gasped and her heart raced. She reached out, her hand shaking as she got closer.
But as soon as her fingertips touched his, the room shook violently. The ground underneath them broke open, and a deep rumble could be heard through the walls. Ryder's body shook fiercely, and he threw his head back, his eyes shining with a fire that wasn't human. The curse was no longer merely a power inside him; it was a storm, a tempest that had been let loose. In that moment, Ryder realized he couldn't go back.
