Chapter 54: 054
Aveline’s POV
My muffled, disgruntled sounds filled the Alpha’s chamber, accompanying the creaking sound of the bed as Alpha Draven thrust in and out of me, filling me up. I tried to swallow my moans, not wanting the guards outside to know what was going on, not wanting to spread rumors about our affair to the public.
But I was barely containing the moans.
“Mhmm… Your Majesty…” I groaned, but I covered my mouth with my palm, breathing against my hand, yet he yanked it off.
His eyes glistened with desire and admiration as he looked down at me. “Aveline… I want to hear you,” he groaned as he moved inside me, and I groaned loudly, gnawing my nails into his back as I tried to relive my pleasure, screaming on top of my lungs, not caring if the whole palace heard about us.
“Ahh… mhmm…” My muffled moans tore through the room’s silence, and he increased the pace of his rhythm, every thrust rippling something out of me.
I basked in overwhelming pleasure as I let out cries of ecstasy, begging him for mercy that fell on his deaf ears. He didn’t let me go. My legs trembled as I felt something run down my thigh, and the Alpha groaned as he exploded inside me.
“Ahh!” He panted heavily as he glided out of me, and I rolled away from him, but he dragged my sticky body back to his.
My breathing was still unstable as I lay by his side. The scent of our pleasure wafted into my nose, filling my heart with indescribable satisfaction, which made me wonder what plan he had for me.
It was obvious that I had an effect on him. Maybe he fancied me as more than just a woman, but I felt like there was some unbreakable barrier that he wasn’t talking about, which scared me.
“About leaving the palace… forget it. I will never let you leave. I won’t let you stay away from me,” he mumbled, his voice hoarse as he hugged me tightly.
“What’s this, Your Majesty?” I asked. My question didn’t carry much weight, but I was sure it conveyed enough.
“I don’t know what you think of me, Aveline, but you should know I will never abandon you,” he said. “I’m stuck with you,” he ruffled as he kissed the crook of my neck, and I scowled.
“You won’t abandon me? Then why? Why did you betray me?” I asked, my throat parched as he rubbed my bosom, and his actions stopped.
Looked like I hit a sore spot.
He didn’t reply for the longest time. I would have thought he had fallen asleep, but his soft growl was enough to tell me he hadn’t. “I didn’t betray you, Aveline. I’m trying to protect you here.”
I rolled my eyes at his hypocrisy and snuggled out of his embrace. My senses returned as I looked at him. “Really? What are you protecting me from? You?”
“It definitely has to be you because you’re the only one I need protection from,” I spat, but he sat up swiftly, catching my wrist before I could move farther. The heat of his skin burned through me, stirring something wild and uncontrollable inside. No matter how much I hated it, I still reacted to his touch.
I didn’t think I would ever get used to the effect he had on me. We had stomped on different boundaries and explored the forbidden, but just a touch could make me linger for more.
“I’m not the villain, Aveline,” he said, his voice trembling between pride and desperation. “Maybe I’ve done unforgivable things, but I would never hurt you or your wolf. It’s just that…” He trailed off, his eyes avoiding mine, and I knew he was hiding something.
How could I believe such a man?
“I’m not going to trust you, Your Majesty,” I said as I slipped out of the bed, but I almost fell as a wave of pleasure hit me, and some remnant liquid rushed down my thighs.
I winced in pain as I felt my body sore all over, and I didn’t understand why I had to push my limits for such a man who couldn’t even step up for my wolf and me.
“But you don’t know your wolf!” he roared, and that halted my steps as I turned around to look at him, the bedding wrapped tightly around my nakedness.
It was true that I hadn’t gotten to know my wolf, but we had just met some hours ago. I didn’t even completely believe that I had a wolf yet. But what did I need to know about her?
“Why are you making things hard? Do you have to run away from responsibilities by dodging things like this? What does my wolf have to do with anything?” I spat as I slipped into my clothes and walked toward the door.
“That’s because your wolf is not ordinary,” he rasped. “You will get to know soon; she will reveal herself.” Draven groaned as he got out of bed, bare, letting my eyes linger on him. My face flushed as I caught a glimpse of what had kept me awake most of the night.
‘Snap out of it, Aveline!’ I hushed, and my eyes trailed back to his face, which wasn’t helping much either.
“What are you saying?” I blurted, and he held my hands, placing a kiss on my knuckles, which made me weak in the knees.
Did this man learn the art of seduction?
“You will understand better, but for now, you have to trust me, not her,” he said, and I scoffed, jerking my hands away from him.
“What nonsense! You want me to trust you and not my wolf? You expect me to do that?” I scoffed.
I didn’t know why I felt that he wasn’t talking nonsense, but why would I give in to him?
“Have you ever asked yourself why she was locked away all this while?” he roared, and that stopped me in my tracks.
Locked away? What was he saying?
Did I not just connect with my wolf because I was an Omega and too weak to connect with her early? Was that not what it was?
“What do you mean, locked away?” I asked, my voice shaky as I looked at the man.
He held my gaze, and for the first time, I saw fear flicker in his eyes.
