Chapter 31: Chapter Thirty-one : Thirst
"Bailey, can you hear me?" Caspian gently asked, cupping my face.
I growled slightly, locking my eyes with Caspian. The unquenched thirst inside me continued to rise, making me lose my sanity.
Caspian appeared perplexed by my demeanor. His eyes glowed up, staring at my wolf since I was entirely in its possession.
"You can't stay like this. You must return Bailey to her body," Caspian whispered, leaning, bringing his face closer to mine. I growled at his words, baring my fangs at him.
I could feel Caspian's body getting hot. He had barely subdued his urge to mate with his mate. His warm breath continued to fall over my body, making me struggle on his arm.
I shoved Caspian away, growling at him like an animal, as my body began to curl up in pain.
"Bailey!" Caspian yelled my name concernedly.
I grabbed Caspian's shirt, making him fall to the ground by me as he came closer. I crawled on top of him. All my wolf wanted at that moment was its mate. It was burning in desire to mark its mate, gobbling him up entirely.
Caspian's eyes widened as I ripped his shirt open, exposing his well-formed chest. My eyes glowed even more, staring at the luscious body before me.
My hands swerved over his abs impatiently as Caspian stared at me, getting baffled. I slowly leaned down, bringing my face closer to Caspian's neck.
I slightly licked the soft skin on his neck. There was not a single mark on his entire body.
"Bailey," Caspian called me again as his voice slightly quivered. His breathing had gotten faster. I could feel his muscles tensing up.
"You can't do this," Caspian suddenly said. He grabbed my shoulders, preventing me from proceeding further as our eyes met.
I frowned at him, growling at him angrily. I couldn't hear a thing except the voices inside my head asking me to claim what was mine already.
I attempted to bite his neck forcefully as Caspian's grip tightened on my arms, preventing me from reaching his body.
I growled painfully again, almost ripping my vocal cord. Caspian pulled my body into an embrace, gently patting my head to calm me down.
"You will regret this later," Caspian said, almost whispering. He continued to stroke my back as if I was a baby. "Please calm down," Caspian requested.
"Give yourself to me," My wolf said in a raspy voice, staring at Caspian as if he were prey before me.
Caspian stared at me for a few seconds in disbelief. He could never get a better opportunity than this for breaking my wolf from its core. If Caspian rejected my wolf at that state, the bond would nullify, breaking my spirit to fight for the alpha's throne.
Caspian had already witnessed my alpha wolf. There was no place to question my worth fighting in the conclave anymore. Caspian exhaled deeply, getting up from the ground with me.
"This place stinks of blood," Caspian said calmly.
Caspian grabbed my wrist, pulling me toward his car, parked outside the port area. My hair and clothes were all messed up. I followed him like a tiny puppy.
My wolf finally calmed down a bit. However, it didn't release my body from its possession. My entire body was itching.
I wondered if Caspian had calculated the opportunity already and was considering rejecting me.
Caspian opened the car door, telling me to get up. He drove fast as I stared out the window blankly. The cold breeze touched my face, making my body itch even more.
My wolf had already commenced merging itself with my soul, though it refused to give up on my body. Hence, I failed to get away from Caspian, despite not wanting to force myself on him.
"Am I not rejected already? Caspian clearly didn't let me get close to him," I wondered. "No way! He is going to reject me for real," I straightened my back, getting impatient.
Caspian didn't say a word or even bat an eye at me the entire way. The car stopped before a luxurious hotel. I stared at Caspian skeptically.
Did he really need to bring me to such a place to reject me? I wondered. I could comprehend it since my wolf wouldn't remain calm after the rejection. The pain was already engulfing my insides.
Caspian wouldn't risk revealing everything in front of my grandpa or the pack members. I was shaken at Caspian's desire for the alpha's throne. Perhaps it was also because of his loathing toward the rogues that made him this desperate even to consider rejecting his mate.
Besides, Caspian was already in love with Aphrodite. It was comprehensible how he could reject me calmly. I had already prepared my mind for the rejection, though my wolf wanted to jump on him.
It wanted to get its way with its mate. Tears appeared in my eyes, realizing how dirty it would get once Caspian rejected me. I didn't even have proper control over my body.
Caspian booked the most luxurious suite on the top floor with lavish architecture. My eyes widened at the ethereal sight before me as we entered the room. The glass wall had exposed the night city before me.
I stood there quietly, staring at the tiny lights of the city below. My wolf struggled inside me as the unquenched thirst returned. Caspian turned off the lights unexpectedly, making the moonlight the sole source to remove the darkness.
I turned to Caspian skeptically, finding him standing calmly, leaning back on the wall. His tall stature appeared unreal as his white shirt was ripped on the front, revealing his bare chest.
His slightly long, soft blond hair had covered his forehead messily. Caspian's eyes glowed as he called my name calmly in a low-pitched voice.
"Bailey."
My wolf lost control again as a tiny growl came out of my throat, staring at the man before me, standing seductively. I noticed Caspian's eyes glowing.
"Do whatever you wish," Caspian said calmly.
I got puzzled at Caspian's words for a moment. My wolf undoubtedly desired to mark its mate. However, my boldness went under the ground as Caspian was right there before me, waiting for me.
"You are not going to reject me?" I questioned as my soul had gotten entangled with my wolf.
Caspian slowly came to me, closing the distance between us. He cupped my face, making me stare into his eyes.
"Why would I? I didn't want to ruin this precious moment in that soiled place. Why do you look so surprised now? Isn't this what you wanted?" Caspian asked, leaning and bringing his face close to my ears. "Why are you hesitating? Quench your thirst and let Bailey return properly,"
"Do you believe I will harm her? Are you doing this just for my human form?" I questioned, grabbing Caspian's wrist and removing it from my face.
"You are not separate entities. All I want is just my mate. You are not the only one suffering here," Caspian answered, gazing into my eyes.
My heart pounded hard in my chest at his words.
"Was he struggling all this time as well?" I wondered.
I couldn't get to think longer as Caspian's lips touched mine, closing the gap between our bodies. I felt his hands shaking slightly. It wasn't our first kiss.
However, it felt different from the first time as it felt sweeter. I could feel the warmth in Caspian's touch. Caspian deepened the kiss as my hands reached his neck, exposing his skin again.
Caspian's lips slowly reached my neck. He stared at me one last time as shortly I felt sharp teeth piercing my skin.
