Chapter 20

I haven't been paying much attention to Kevin these past few days.

It's actually because of what happened with Lily. His way of dealing with things scared me.

He is much more ruthless than I had imagined.

“Kevin, in your world, do bad people have to die?” I asked him.

“Well, if they don't die, then it's either them or me,” he replied.

“But I'm scared when you're like this,” I voiced my inner fear.

I have seen him kill in front of me, those images always appear in my nightmares.

“Then next time, I won't do that kind of thing in front of you?” he hugged my waist and patiently comforted me, “Be good, it's been a few days, let me kiss you.”

“No!” I refused.

“Can't you walk the right path and stop doing those things?”

“So you won't give me any affection, huh?” He got angry, “I've never claimed to be a good person. If you want someone good, don't choose me.”

Sensing his rising emotions, I didn't want to argue with him, so I had to ask the driver to stop the car.

“Could you please stop the car?”

“Mr. Grant...” the driver looked at Kevin.

“Don't stop.”

“Kevin!”

After a minute of confrontation, I reached out to open the car door.

But he suddenly pulled me over.

He held my head, lowered his head, and kissed me until I stopped resisting before letting me go.

“Why don't you ever listen?” His voice hoarse, he complained in a low voice, “I've never humbled myself like this for a woman before. Stop making a fuss, okay?”

“I'm not making a fuss.” I sighed, “Kevin, I feel like we're too different.”

“So what? What do you want to say?”

“I...”

“Forget it, I don't want to hear it. Get off the car, I'm afraid I won't be able to control my anger.”

He ultimately interrupted what I wanted to say and made me get off the car.

Later, we fell into a silent cold war.

Katie noticed my bad mood and wanted to take me to a bar.

At first, I didn't want to go.

But she insisted on going to coincidentally meet Patrick, so I had no choice but to accompany her.

“Do you believe in love at first sight?” Katie asked me, looking at Patrick sitting at the table.

“Isn't it just his looks that attracted you?”

“Is it possible that I want to get to know his inner self? Like if he has abs?”

As she spoke, she picked up a bottle of alcohol and walked towards Patrick's direction.

“What are you doing?” I grabbed her.

“I'm going to touch and see how many abs he has.”

Ugh, the lemonade I drank almost sprayed out.

I have to admit; Katie is much bolder in this aspect than me.
