Chapter 16

Isabella found it hard to sleep all through the night, she kept thinking of how she would succeed with her plan. The fear of failure crippled her, she had no experience in getting a man's attention. She barely succeeded in Mason's case talk more of a Mafia lord who is surrounded by various women of different shapes. Isabella knew she had only two options accepting Mason's plan or remaining in captivity and the latter wasn't an option for Isabella. First step she thought of what seductive clothes.

Isabella went through all her clothes in the dressing room to find suitable ones. She was able to find some of them.

The next day Isabella took her freshened up and wore one of the seductive gowns she had selected the previous night. She wore her best cologne and applied a little lip gloss on her lips to make it stand out but her efforts were put to waste because Leonardo never showed up. This continued for a few more days until Isabella was tired, it was as though the universe was against her escape.

It's been one week now since their plan to seduce Leonardo and he hasn't shown up. Isabella knew it was time to do something, she showered as usual that day, and for the first time since her capture, she opened the door and stepped outside.

She stood in front of her door for some minutes before taking a step, she didn't know where to go, and as she had presumed the place was heavily guarded by armed men. She walked for a while but still couldn't figure out where exactly she was going. She intended to find Leonardo, but since he wouldn't come to her, she would go to him instead.

Isabella tried asking one of the armed men but they didn't even flinch, Isabella decided to find her way around. She walked up the stairs, and she met a few rooms but they were locked. She was about to go down the stairs when she saw an open door. Out of curiosity, she opened the door.

As she opened the door a sharp scent of incense welcomed her, embosoming her in opulent fumes that caressed her eyelids, naturally drawing thoughts and focus on resting upon the pillowed bed propped against the wall, on the opposite end of the room from the entrance. The room was bathed in a soft, golden light that filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a warm glow over the worn wooden floorboards. Dust motes danced lazily in the air, caught in the sunbeams that streamed through the windows. The walls were painted a soothing shade of pale black, adorned with faded paintings, and shelves filled with well-arranged books. In one corner, a vintage armchair sat nestled beside a crackling fireplace, its cushions worn with age but still inviting in their comfort. A threadbare rug lay at its feet, its intricate patterns softened by years of use. Across the room, a heavy oak desk stood proudly, cluttered with papers and pens, a testament to a mind at work.

Isabella was still observing the room when she heard someone showering, she stood for a while deliberating on whether to go out or wait for the person to come out and then ask of Leonardo. To her, the room didn't seem like just anybody's room, so it must be someone important in the family that owned the room. After standing for a while she couldn't hear the sound of the water touching the tiles, she gave in to the temptation to move closer and check.

The door immediately opened her breath caught her throat when she saw Leonardo standing in front of her. He was only wearing a towel, his toned muscles glistening with water droplets.

His eyes widened in surprise as he saw her standing there, she was the last person he was expecting to see in his room.

She stared at his sculpted chest and toned arms, emphasizing every curve and muscle. Droplets of water glistened on his bronzed skin, highlighting his defined abs and chiseled jawline. His tousled hair framed his rugged features, giving him a dangerously handsome edge. At that moment, he exuded an effortless confidence and sex appeal that was impossible to ignore. Isabella swallowed hard, she wanted to look away but she couldn't.

” Are you done staring?” he asked, his question immediately jolted Isabella back to the human world. She was too embarrassed to say anything but she knew she had to say something before leaving, she didn't want to behave like a shy little girl.

“I am sorry for intruding,” she said trying to keep her voice steady.

“Are you sure, you weren't looking for me?” he said in a cheeky tone. Isabella just bent her head in shame.

“you have finally decided to step out of your room, that's a good start. So Isabella what do you want?” He asked

“erm I needed to talk to you, it's been a while since you came to check up on me,” Isabella said trying her best to sound convincing. He needed him to buy it and he must.

“Seems someone is missing me, before we divulge more into this conversation, wait for me downstairs, you are distracting me with the way you are staring at me. If you stay any longer I might have to pin you to the wall”

He hadn't finished talking before he noticed her face had turned red

“I love innocent girls you know, you are all red because of my tease what if it was something else? Don't worry I am joking, I want to dress up but you are free to stay” he said, she didn't spare him another glance and ran straight to her room with her heart beating faster than usual.

Leonardo couldn't hold his laughter as Isabella ran out of his room, he wasn't expecting her to leave the room. At some point, he was worried about her being stuck in the room all day. He dressed quickly and headed downstairs, as expected Isabella wasn't there. He chuckled and left for his normal business meeting while Isabella sat on her bed cursing herself out for stepping out of the room. she wondered how she would cope in the following days.
