Chapter 56 Disappointed!

Chapter 56 Disappointed!
|| Author POV ||

Weeks had passed. Killian and Rosalie returned to the city long ago. Rosa’s academy had re-opened.

Now she sat quietly on her bench in the classroom, swinging her legs back and forth with wandering eyes. Aria sat beside her, busy with something on her desk.

Suddenly, Rosa’s eyes lit up. The classroom shifted. Everyone stood including Rosa. Her innocent gaze fixed on him as he walked in. Killian Salvatore.

Then, one by one, the students settled back into their seats.

Aria exhaled, sneaking a glance at Rosa. “Rosalie... I gotta tell you something.” she murmured. Rosa turned her head curiously.

“What is it, Aria?” she asked softly.

“Um... actually, I’m kinda shy but I feel like I want to tell you.” Aria said with a pout. “Tell me.” Rosa said with piqued interest.

She noticed the way Aria’s cheeks flushed.
“Well, I–I made love with Noah!”

Aria blurted out quickly then immediately hid her face in her palms. Rosa gasped. Her eyes widened.
“Really?” she exclaimed, mouth falling open in shock.

Aria peeked through her fingers with her burning face.
“He said he loves me and I can feel it. His feelings are genuine. I’ve spent the whole month with him. And I’ve fallen even more.”

Rosa didn’t say anything at first. Her silence made Aria anxious. “Are you.. mad at me?” Aria asked hesitantly. Rosa’s eyes widened and shook her head “No.”

“Why would I be mad at you, Aria? If he loves you, then it’s alright. You trust him, right?” Rosa asked softly with an assuring voice. Aria threw her head back with a dreamy smile. “Yes, I do. A lot.”

Rosa smiled quietly in return but her heart was pounding with something she couldn’t name. She turned her head forward. Her gaze locked on Killian’s form at the front of the class.

Love.
That single word made her heart skip.

Love?

Killian never said he loved her. Yes, they had made love, if that’s what it was. Or was it just sex?

He never confessed anything. It was only her. She was the one who loves him. But what about him?

Does he also feel something for her?
Or... does he feel nothing at all?

Classtime came to an end but her thoughts didn’t. Rosa sat still. She realized Killian never looked at her during class.
Or did he? Maybe he did and she just never caught it.

“Miss Sinclair.”

Killian’s deep voice echoed through the classroom making Rosa flinch. Her breath hitched and she stood up quickly.

“Y-yes, Professor?” she answered softly. Her voice was delicate and hands were tightening around the fabric of her skirt.

Killian’s gaze was steel. “Come with me.” he said. “I have something important to discuss with you.”

Rosa blinked then gave a small nod. She glanced at Aria who returned the nod in quiet support. Slipping out of her seat, Rosa followed behind him.

Each step felt heavier than the last. Her thoughts spiraled. It’s probably about her studies... or how distracted she’s been during the classtime.

When they reached his office, Killian stopped at the door. Rosa stood just behind him while her eyes locked on his back. Slowly, nervously, she looked up at him.

Her tense gaze met his cold blues. Her lips pressed together. Anxiety was written all over her face.

“Ah!” Rosa gasped, breath catching in her throat when Killian lifted her off the ground and walked inside. Her palms clutched his shoulder.

Rosa looked at his face as he slowly placed her down on the glass table. The cool surface kissed the back of her thighs. Her brows knitted, heart pounding and eyes searched his.

Killian didn’t blink. His hands remained on her legs firmly
“I’m so disappointed in you.” he spat flatly. Rosa stayed silent for a moment then “Wh-why?” she whispered before lowering her gaze.

Killian stepped away, then returned and placed an exam paper on the glass table with a quiet thud. Rosa’s eyes flickered to it. Tension tightened her chest. She lifted her gaze back to him, lips pressed together, staring up at him with wide innocent eyes.

“You barely passed math.” he said lowly yet his eyes darkened as they locked on hers.

Her breath caught at the way his gaze sharpened. Her expression softened into timid one.

Is he going to scold her now?

Rosa couldn’t find the courage to speak. Her timid eyes stayed locked on his with quiet fear. All she wished for was that he wouldn’t explode on her again.

“Tell me.” Killian uttered, tilting his head slightly “what should I do to you?”

He could read that scared look in her eyes, probably afraid of what was coming next.

“So scared, aren’t you?” he leaned in with sharp eyes.
Rosa leaned back, swallowing and flinched when his hand grabbed her thigh firmly.

“Speak, Rosalie.”

She quietly averted her gaze, fear tightening around her mind like a cage. When it came to her studies, he was a different man.
He was no longer the beast who kissed her with hunger. Now, when he said her name with that cold sharp edge in his voice, it made her tremble.

“What punishment should I give you?”

“I-I tried...” she mewled, blinking up at him.

Her lips quivered as she watched his expression shift. That cold look hardened into something fierce and his eyebrows knitted together.

“D-don’t be angry, pl-plwese.. I tried…” she stammered but his face didn’t soften.

“Do something to calm my anger.” his voice whispered against her face.

“H-huh?”

“I said, do something.”

Rosa looked away confusedly, unsure what he meant or what he wanted from her. Gathering a small thread of courage, she whispered, “But–but I didn’t fail. I passed.”

“My girlfriend got her big mouth, hmm?” he scoffed with heavy sarcasm. “Kiss me, trésor.”

\[Translation: Treasure.\]

The demand was sharp. Killian straightened his posture like a dare.

Rosa blinked, her eyes darting between his. Kiss him? What kind of demand was that?

“Hurry.”

Rosa let out a shaky breath. She had never kissed him before on her own. It was always him. Always his hunger and his pull. But if this would calm him down, she would try.

Her heart pounded as she leaned forward but his height made it nearly impossible to reach. Her frame felt even smaller in front of him. Trembling, she lifted her hand and gently gripped the collar of his coat. Her eyes slowly scanned his face.

‘God, he’s so beautiful.’ She thought making her heartbeat faster.

Rosa gulped, lifting her hips just enough to close the gap between them.
