Chapter 48 Sinful thirst!
|| Author POV ||
“Come here.” Killian commanded.
Rosa froze mid-step, her doe eyes met his sharp ones. She hesitated then slowly walked toward him with her gaze fixed on the floor.
“Sit.” he said while patting his thigh.
Her brows furrowed. She glanced at the empty chair then back at his lap. “I-I’ll sit there.” she pointed nervously to the chair across from him.
“No. You’ll sit here.” Killian repeated and without giving her a chance to object he grabbed her gently by the waist and pulled her onto his lap.
Rosa gasped softly as her body settled onto his lap. She looked up at him flustered, her heartbeat loud in her ears. Killian tilted his head slightly before pulling the bowl closer.
“Eat.” he ordered calmly.
Rosa glanced at the table. A bowl of smoothie, creamy pink, made from milk and blended strawberries and other fruits.
Her stomach gave a soft grumble. She was hungry. Trying to push aside her flustered nerves she silently reached for the spoon.
But her oversized sleeve kept slipping down, brushing the table and getting in the way. She pressed her lips together annoyed and shyly adjusted the bowl, pulling it gently into her lap instead.
Her eyes hesitantly lifted to his again and saw his cold blues were already watching her.
She froze. Did he think she looked stupid eating like this?
But this felt more comfortable. She quickly looked away, cheeks heating up. Sitting on his lap was already driving her crazy.
“D-Don’t look.” she whispered and scooped a spoonful of the smoothie.
Killian smirked faintly, grabbing his coffee with one hand. The other rested casually on her waist. At the sound of a soft chime, he picked up his phone, scrolling through a string of emails with practiced ease.
Rosa focused on eating with lowered eyes. Every part of her was aware of him. His presence. His silence. His warmth. Everything.
Rosa finished her meal and set the spoon down with her small fingers. “I-I’m done.” she whispered, trying to slip off his lap.
But Killian’s hand slid back around her waist before she could stand. In one swift motion, he lifted her and placed her on the glass table. Rosa gasped softly, her legs dangled, eyes wide as she looked down at him. He was still sitting calmly.
“You’re not allowed to move until I say so.” his fingers tightened at her waist.
His thumb rose, gently brushing the corner of her lips where a smear of milk stuck.
He licked his bottom lip once then reached up to tug her closer by the back of her head, leaning in until his mouth met hers.
Rosa’s eyes flew open. What kind of position is this? She wondered.
He kissed her like he always did. Like he owned her. Like he didn’t care where they were or who was watching. Everywhere. Every time without warning.
Killian groaned low against her lips, savoring the sweetness of the smoothie she had just eaten. He licked her lips clean. The kiss turned rougher, sharper, hungry and too desperate.
Rosa’s palm pressed firmly against his shoulder, trying to steady herself as his grip tightened.
Without breaking the kiss, Killian pushed back his chair and stood up. His body closed the space between them before he slipped between her parted legs.
One hand cradled her small face, deepening the kiss with an intensity that stole her breath away.
He nibbled gently at the corners of her lip, teasing, testing before his hunger drove him to bite a little harder, eliciting a soft gasp from her.
The sensation was intoxicating like a drug he couldn’t get enough of. Her soft plush lips felt like the gentlest marshmallow.
Every brush of her lips against his ignited a fire inside him, pulling him deeper into the kiss. He craved more of the addictive sweetness she held.
Rosa’s fingers fumbled on his shoulder as he leaned in further, his grip tightening, desperate to keep her close and to never let go.
Killian sighed internally feeling his pant tightening but he shoved the feeling down.
His both hands cupped her face with sudden desperation.
He tilted his head to another side, devouring her like he’d been starving for centuries. His grip tightened on her delicate face, forcing her lips into a soft pout and he kissed her harder, deeper like a man possessed.
Rosa whimpered against his mouth, her fingers curling into the front of his shirt. His mouth moved with madness, claiming her with a frenzy that made her feel like she was being consumed whole. Like he wanted to bury himself in the taste of her.
She was too sweet. Too addicting.
In these past few days, Rosa had noticed how badly he craved her. He never missed a chance to capture her lips. It was like he needed her breath to survive.
And yet, it confused her.
He used to be so cold distant, even harsh. She remembered the darkness in his voice. But now? Now he held her like she was something fragile and precious.
It’s been days he’d confirmed they were a couple. She believed him. Her heart wanted to.
Still, a quiet doubt lingered. Was this real? Or was she living in a dream spun from her own longing?
Had he changed so suddenly or had he always felt this way and just kept his distance on purpose?
Rosa tapped on his chest. Panic bloomed in her lungs as her breath started to falter. But Killian only pulled her closer, his desperation spilling into a breathless groans.
Her eyes widened at the intensity, his kiss wasn’t just a kiss anymore. It was like he wanted to swallow her alive.
Like he couldn’t stop.
Her face turned red from the lack of air. She tried again, pressing her hands against him, struggling. “Mmm-mm--” she pushed again with urgency.
“Hah!” Killian broke the kiss with a breathless growl. His dark eyes locked onto her. Rosa’s lips were swollen and her face flushed and she gasped for air like she’d just surfaced from deep water.
Only then did he seem to realize what he was doing. His eyes met her big glassy ones. They were filled with fear.
Killian slowly released her face from his hands. He didn’t know what had come over him. That beast inside him had clawed to the surface too recklessly.
He turned his gaze away from her, looking out the tall window as guilt tugged at his chest. A sigh escaped his lips just as his phone buzzed.
He couldn’t look at her. Without glancing at her, he answered the call, recognizing one of his men.
“Yés.”
His eyes, however, betrayed him, drifting back to Rosa’s frame. She looked terrified. His jaw flexed.
“Patron, ils ont intercepté l’envoi. Les armes ont été confisquées par leurs hommes.” his men informed.
\[Boss, they intercepted the shipment. The weapons were seized by their men.\]
“Dites à Chris d’effacer les traces. Rien ne doit remonter jusqu’à nous.” Killian answered sharply in french without striping his gaze off her.
\[Tell Chris to clean it up. Nothing should trace back to us.\]
Rosa was still watching him. Those naive confused eyes didn’t understand the monster standing in front of her.
She carefully listened to him. His addicting voice and those unfamiliar words sent goosebumps into her soul.
“Et enterrez les restes. Vous savez ce que ça veut dire.” he added, slowly grazing his finger on her soft, swollen lips.
\[And bury what’s left. You know what that means.\]
He ended the call without waiting for a response.
“I’m sorry.” Killian murmured, his eyes resting on her trembling lips. “I got...too harsh.” His gaze slowly lifted to meet her confused eyes.
Rosa stayed silent. Fear was visible in her eyes. His harshness always scares her.
“Wh-what language was that?” she asked in curiosity.
“French.” Killian replied curtly.
Rosa looked away, giving a small nod. “Look at me.” he demanded firmly.
Rosa obeyed, her lashes kissed her cheeks. There was a flicker of fear in her eyes.
“Your exam ends next week.” he stated, watching her closely. “I have to leave for a business trip. Just for a few days.”
Rosa looked down at her hands, her voice timid. “So, I’ll b-be alone here when you leave?”
Killian shook his head, “Do you want to come with me?”
He asked as if he hadn’t already postponed the trip for her exams. As if he hadn’t already decided she would be going.
Such a bloody bastard.
Rosa’s fingers nervously played with the hem of her sleeve. She glanced up at him then quickly looked away. She couldn’t form any words.
Killian leaned in and made a small lick on her cheek. Rosa froze.
“I’m taking you with me.” he said firmly.
Rosa blinked. “B-but... where?” she asked softly with round curious eyes. Killian didn’t answer right away. Something flickered behind his gaze.
Velaris Island.
The name echoed in his mind. An unforgettable island.
Instead of answering her question right away, Killian held her gaze and said coolly, “You’ll know soon enough.”
Rosa didn’t push. But her curiosity stirred. The thought was lingering too long in her mind.
“Business?” she asked hesitantly out of curiosity.
She had wanted to ask this for a while. He couldn’t be just a professor. There had to be more. And now she felt she was right.
Killian’s expression barely shifted but something in his eyes flickered. Business? Was that really what it was?
It wasn’t a business trip. It was a mission. A bloody routine for someone who lived in the darkness. A mafia life he kept hidden from her.
He understood her curiosity. The way her doe eyes searched for an answer. She probably wondered why would a man like him work as a professor when he already has everything?
The mansion, the cars, the men who answered his every command like he was their lord. He couldn’t just be a professor.
“Yes. Business.” he slurred coldly.
Leaning in his arms circling her frame, pulling her into him again until her head rested against his chest. His shadow fell over her face and his lips pressed onto hers again.
This time his kiss was gentle and slow, like he was trying to soothe something he couldn’t say.
Rosa didn’t move, nor did she question. She let him kiss her.
Like a fool.
