Chapter 33 Wondrous surprise

Chapter 33 Wondrous surprise
wondrous surprise

Milo pov

I didn’t know that such a thing was even there, until now.

I hesitated, just for a moment, but when my stomach grumbled for the third time in a row, I chose to leave the worry for next time.

I pounced on the food like a hungry lion.

One bite…two bites, and my eyes widened like saucers. I was in heaven.

The meat melted in my mouth like soft chocolate, and different flavors hitted my taste buds like bullets.

I almost moaned out in the pleasure of eating. Despite the food being cold. It was cooked well, the spice and ingredients in their right proportion. like the kind of those I had seen during the royal ball night. Warm and seasoned to perfection. My tongue continued to savor the taste and the lingering effect of the delicious food. For a second, I felt something dangerous and a new feeling bloomed inside me.

Gratitude.

But I pushed it down and quickly finished the food, within minutes.

I couldn’t remember how fast I had wolfed down a big bowl of food, and still have space to spare for more.

I glanced at the clock. 5:02 p.m.

I gasped, a little confused about how time had run so fast. Remembering that I had not taken my bath. And judging from the faint smelly odour coming out from my skin, I really needed to bath.

I stopped acting like a zombie and stood up. After making sure the door was locked, I took a deep breath. I slowly took off my clothes before I made my way to the only luxurious and expensive bathtub in the chamber. I hesitated at the door.

As I wanted to turn back in fear, I remembered the Master's almost pleading eyes before he left. He said I should be comfortable in his chambers.

Bracing myself, I took slow cautious steps inside, making sure that I didn’t touch anything I wasn’t meant to, or knock over masters properties.

After a while, the sound of running water hitting the tub filled the room. I took the moment to look at myself in a mirror, Pale, Thin, with white hair that now falls to my shoulders, sunken and swollen eyes from crying all day, cracked lips. I looked just like a walking ghost. a different version of what I used to be back at home.

…Maybe I was becoming something else.

But even now, I still didn’t know if that was a blessing… or a curse.

The water was warm against my skin, I sighed as I dibbed myself into the floral smelling bathing water. All my pores and skin sizzled with a pleasurable sound on contact.

I couldn’t remember if I had ever bathed in a tub before. It was so unlike the cold basin I was used to at home.

I kept telling myself to be quick. Just a rinse and a fast scrub.

But the warmth made me stay even longer than anticipated.

As I sank deeper into the tub, I couldn’t help the thought that crept in, almost like a whisper in the dark.

Was it only me? Or did other pets get to have this kind of treatment?

I hated that I even thought of myself that way, but like they say. I have already accepted my fate. And so the best thing, before it's too late, is to start acting like one.

And that's to change the illusion and impression that these princess treatments would continue. This was just a phase because the master feels guilty, so what if he stops feeling guilty…. Then, I would go back to the hard life of being a little helpless pet.

But I wouldn’t think about that now. I didn’t want to untangle those feelings yet. I just wanted to soak, breathe, and pretend I wasn’t hurt in the deepest way possible.

I might as well enjoy this privilege while it lasts.

After a long moment of soaking myself in the hot tub, I had my fill. I stepped out of the bath, wrapped in nothing but steam and peaceful silence.

The water still clung to my skin, dripping down to the floor, as I reached for the towel to dry my body. For a moment, the warmth made me feel… human. Safe.

“shit”

My clothes…

I froze. Realizing that I had left my clothes in the bedroom

Panic twisted in my stomach like poisonous bile.

I couldn’t believe how I hadn't brought them with me. I hesitated for a moment, then quietly holding the towel securely to my chest, I cracked the bathroom door open and peeked inside.

The room looked all the same. Empty and quiet, just like I had left it.

Cleared.

I crept out of the bathroom.

And with careful steps, my feet padded toward the bed that was at the center of the room. My focus on my clothes that called for me.

One step, two, three… I reached the bed, clutching the clothes like I had accomplished a hard mission.

I took a heavy breath I didn't know I was holding. Now, I could let the towel unwrap around me safely, knowing that I have reached my clothes.

I bent to wear my shorts.

“Oh my God, Milo…” My wolf started,

But a loud chuckle reverberated inside the room. Cutting short Lior's voice.

I gasped.

I was supposed to be alone!!

I whipped around to face the intruder.

My heart almost jumped out of my skin as I stared with wide eyes, paralyzed by fear and shock.

“Is it just me, or there couldn’t be a more wondrous surprise after a long day of work. Milo”
